It location is its greatest USP. There are bars, eating places, shops all around and next door to the hotel. One can enjoy a drink even by the riverside. It is close to Khao San area as well. But nothing much beyond this. Room was a bit cramped, with no table to even keep the laptop, forget about a work table. Just one small round table with the tea/coffee maker on it. No closet worth the name to store luggage--Just an open almirahs without any racks. Taking a shower meant that the water was all over the way to the toilet area. It has a swimming pool and a gym, but had no time to go there as was busy with a conference throughout my stay Staff was very courteous. Breakfast was okay.
The Nouvo City Hotel was our choice for the first days of our honeymoon. We were looking for a high level hotel in a quiet area but close to the city center as we can have both options - to relax and going out. Although the hotel is nice and is well located, we had the worst attention we could expect from the staff of the hotel. TL;DR: I got robbed from the safe and they didn’t care at all. We returned to the hotel the first day and realized that money was missing from the safe. Immediately I went to the reception to report the problem. The receptionist called the manager and after repeating me that “the safe is safe, no one has access to it” and me saying “money is missing, someone took it” he treated me as a lier and ask me to count the money again... of course I did it and I was 100% sure. He checked the room and the security camera. Showed me the records of the times that the room was opened twice when we were out but still with that information the situation was unclear. There’s no camera inside the room (of course) so we couldn’t confirm the moment of the robbery. He called all the personal that entered to the room and asked me: “can you look at them and tell them they robbed you?” A very uncomfortable situation for me. After an hour, the manager recommended me to go to the police with one of his employees, the police came to the hotel, checked the cameras and told of course that the situation was unclear. The police showed me a sign that was in the reception that said that the hotel is responsible for any missing belonging (cash, is one of those as described in the sign) and they will pay back up to 5000 TBH. By this moment the manager left the hotel, very unprofessional, So I asked the lady to give me this compensation although it was less of what I got robbed. We all agreed, so the police left. But when we were without the police again, the receptionist told me she can’t give me the money back until we speak with the manager on Monday after 9am. (and my checkout was programmed for Monday 7am). She explained me (not in a nice way) that returning the money it’s only for the case that the police confirm the crime with finger prints study. After more than 4 hours arguing with the same speech every time, I got tired and knew that that they were not going to give me a solution. I called hotels.com because I didn’t feel comfortable staying in an hotel were I got robbed so they offered a gift card for the situation. Anyway the money from my vacation is still missing, I had a horrible moment, lost 5 hours of my honeymoon and I was the only one affected. Please don’t go to this hotel, they don’t care about their customers.
The hotel is very well located where you have bars, shops and restaurants just outside the hotel door. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The Room very spacious and clean. We didn’t use the pool nor the gym but we were able to take a look and it looked very nice and cozy. The breakfast buffet is big and has everything to offer for a great breakfast. I guess you can’t do anything wrong by booking the nouvo city hotel if you’re staying for 1 or 2 days in Bangkok
Only stayed here for a night after a trip through Vietnam and Cambodia. The hotel is very nice and location is solid - 5 minute walk to Khao San area and close to the temples as well. Rooms are nice and modern and you get the great Thai service. Normally I would stay in Sukhumvit or by the Chao Phraya river but this location was much cooler in the original part of Bangkok.A good selection of breakfast places are on the street and a cool little bar across from the hotel. All in all I definitely recommend and anyone doing an Intrepid trip should feel confident doing a post-night here.
We were a group of six people who stayed at the Nouvo City at the end of our tour. Because we had late flights the following day we wanted to extend the booking for one of our rooms (we were willing to pay for a full extra night) so that we could shower and change before our flight home. However, the jobsworth on reception told us that only two people could use a room and that we would have to pay for three rooms for a full extra night!!! The Nouvo is a nice hotel - shame that their customer service does not match.
This spot is nice and a decent value. It's in a great location, walking distance to khao San road. But the rooms were not sound proof at all. And that meant people partying and hanging out in the hallways at 1-5am (it's khao san of course) will keep you up. So don't expect to sleep much unless you are a very sound sleeper.
Nouvo city hotel in Bangkok is a modern hotel, very clean, good beds, great breakfast and generally good service. The shower/toilet situation is a little weird without a curtain and sometimes the front desk women can be frustrating to deal with, but overall, a good hotel that I would go to again.
23rd March- 25th March Booked through booking.com The hotel itself is very clean, staff are friendly and helpful and it’s been a really pleasant stay. On arrival our bags were taken for us and check in was really quick and easy. The receptionist took a copy of our passport and some contact details and checked us in right away. We also received complimentary tea. The hotel room was bigger than I expected and it’s really clean - no problems with the room at all. The hotel also has a restaurant downstairs a prayer room and a nice sized swimming pool on the roof (we didn’t have time to use it but from what we saw it was packed!) The location is the main reason for our stay here! It’s a fantastic base if like us you only have a few days in Bangkok. It’s in walking distance of Khao San road and a 10 min tuck tuck to the main temples! If you want to go on a boat to see the floating market it’s also walking distance to the river! I can’t recommend this enough. It’s been absolutely fantastic for our stay. Well worth the price!
Choosing this hotel was not a mistake. From the start to the end of my stay was great. Excellent services from all department throughout. Special mention had to be said for Mr Mukli from bellhop. Manners were appropriate and his diversity in many language was impeccable. Feels like I'm at home! Location wise was good. Minutes from the places I wanted to go. Rooms are clean simply decorated. Overall, it was a good stay. Without a doubt, I will come again. In fact we are planning for another trip in June and bring along our son. Thank you Nuovo City Hotel.
On the positive side, the hotel is in a very good location. The room was large and clean. Breakfast was quite good. On the down side, while I expected that there would be no window, I found it dark and disorienting. The air conditioning didn't work properly and it was either too hot or too cold and needed to be adjusted throughout the night. Overall, this hotel is just ok.
