I use this hotel due to location and it serves me very well. The rooms are clean and well air conditioned. 3 large bottles of complementary water each day. Mini-bar in the room. Reasonable western style breakfast each morning. Bar in the lobby if you care to visit. Never busy in the bar. Nice river view out most of the guest rooms. The neighborhood is quite and no local night spots within walking distance at all. There are better and newer hotels in Bangkok, but this is an excellent value for the price. Lots of bus loads of tour groups coming and going, and also a lots of guests driving Mercedes Benz in the parking garage. Its a good balance of a decent hotel at a good price.
Nice big rooms depending which room you book I had a corner suite. Large selection of food at breakfast. Hotel has a nice Chinese restaurant as well. If you like Chinese food I recommend you to try the restaurant. Not an exiting hotel but if your looking for a low key place this is for you. Roads not too busy 7-11 is walking distance from hotel. Overall great value for a quite 5 star hotel.
Older but well maintained hotel. Amazing breakfast choices at the Cafe, great dim sum at the Chinese restaurant. Free shuttle service very handy for getting downtown or to the Asiatique night markets. Lovely outdoor area with green lawn and big trees by the river. Staff very attentive and helpful. Easy walk to local small, newish mall with supermarket and food court, pizza company.
This hotel gives the best view of the river...the rooms are spacious...the staff courteous..lots of place to sit and their garden is really beautiful.. different types of plants, flowers and lights...you can actually walk to the river...the breakfast spread was really huge and sumptuous...breads and other bakery items were really fresh and were melting in the mouth..yummy...other food items were also good.. should definitely stay when in Bangkok
I stayed at Montien Riverside hotel with my friends in June. The first impression is bellman uniform. They are very nice and eye catching. -Room: Very old. All hotel room facility need be upgraded. The walls need be soundproofed. My friend stayed beside me, omg, i know what he was doing even when he took shower or did some stuffs. Its very annoyed. I dont want somebody to know what i was doing and hear what i was talking with roommate or calling with somebody. I stayed on 22 or 25 floor so the view very awesome. Your corridor is beautiful as well. -Breakfast: Not like 5 star hotel. Quite poor. Only basic food, mainly for Chinese. -Staff: Good. Im impressive with receptionists and especially bellmen. -Location: Very far from the shopping centers but near night market. The hotel provides a shuttle bus with many schedules. Im extreme pleased with shuttle bus service. The driver is very nice. If you have more schedules such as in the late evening such as 11pm -> 0am, it will be perfect. Overall, its a nice hotel. Please renovate your room.
I was in room 20 on the executive floor. Outstanding view of river, especially at night with the illuminations. Spacious, clean and comfortable with well stocked mini-bar. Good sized pool with only me in it, my sort of pool. Breakfast provided a good choice of hot and cold. Staff were very attentive at all times.
Montien Riverside Hotel is a nice hotel overall. Pros: Amazing complimentary breakfast, scenic view of Chao Phraya river and city from the bedroom, clean towel and bedsheet, massage service at the hotel's shopping arcade is worth a try. Cons: A bit of communication problem but staffs are helpful, poor wi-fi connectivity in the room (thankfully I had bought local sim with 4G pack), distance from the nearest BTS station "Surasak" or "Saphan Taksin" is approximately 3.5 Kms. Even though, hotel runs it's shuttle bus service to the Surasak BTS station and to it's sister hotel "The Montien" (near Sala Deng BTS station) the frequency of the shuttle bus is 2 hours. They also have a pick up facility from "The Montien" hotel to Montien Riverside hotel with last bus at 10:30 PM. So you need to plan your trip accordingly if you are planning to use the facility else you will end up paying approx 200 THB daily on to and fro from hotel to BTS station.
My wife and I extremely enjoyed our stay at the Montien Riverside Hotel. From the beginning of our stay until our departure we experienced top notch treatment. All employees were always courteous, helpful and professional. Whether being greeted by the doormen in their immaculate uniforms, interacting with the registration counter, guest services, the concierge desk or talking with house keeping my wife and I were always greeted with courtesy and professionalism. We enjoyed the daily buffet which was always flavorful. The location of the hotel provided beautiful views of the city and the Chao Phraya river. The hotel property was very clean and adorned with beautiful gardens as well as a nice boutique and on site shopping area. We utilized the courtesy shuttle to both the Central shopping center and Asiatique night market. The shuttle was always punctual and the drivers competent and friendly. Cabs for travel throughout the city were always available (at a cost). Note: when it was time to depart a cab was hailed that provided us travel to the airport at a cost of $15 (based on the current exchange rate). Even though the hotel did not have their own tour desk, cabs were available for personal tours. Tour information was available at the concierge desk. Thanks to the management and staff of the Montien Riverside Hotel. Note: if you want more of a night life party location this is not the location for your.
Hotel is fairly old and a bit out of the way, but clean and comfortable. Attending a wedding there, check in was smooth and seamless, our room was very nice, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The wedding we attended was lovely as were all the staff. Our breakfast was ok, not a bad selection but I wasn't too impressed with the egg station, the staff really couldn't be bothered to cook eggs, though they reluctantly put a previous cold, but overcooked egg, on the griddle to try and make it more appealing, which it didn't. A shame really as the rest of the staff were really helpful.
Travelled Solo. Chose this place initially because I didn't want the hustle and bustle of mainstream Bangkok. The hotel staff and service is what you expect of a 4 star hotel. However the place is so dated and not well maintained so it honestly resembles a 3 star. The beds are comfortable and the rooms itself are generally clean. Don't expect much from the hotel gym or pool - they're not well maintained as well. The riverside view is so so. Wifi is reasonably fast and complimentary. There isn't anything near this place besides a 10+ minute walk to a nearby mall with limited options. That being said, the Asiatique Riverside area is only a 10 min cab ride away.
