We had mixed feelings at the time of booking the hotel but chose it on the basis of reviews. When we reached, we were pleasantly surprised.Although it is quite small,it was compensated by other benefits such as english knowledge of the staff, cleanliness and courtesy. Breakfast was same on both the days . Nothing grand but not bad either.Indian travellers would find it a bit difficult because of lack of vegetarian dishes. The main pratunam shopping market is within 5-10 minutes walk and so is a KFC and MCDonalds. The rooms could have been bigger but they have done the best with the space available. The staff at the reception particularly Raju and Khon were helpful and spoke english quite well.Would have rated much higher but for the room sizes and breakfast spread.
Staying 4 nights. Welcome drinks was served during check-in process. 1st night assigned to a super king size room402. But bed was so noisy with squeaky sound due to spring. Room decorated with roses & petals on bed as it was meant to be our anniversary trip. But too bad the bed was really in bad shape. Whole night didnt get to sleep soundly. +Safebox spoilt too. Asked to change to room401 on 2nd day, safebox also spoilt & tv controller didnt work. Saw strands of hair on bed. Quite disappointed with the hotel.
Location: The hotel is situated inside those small lanes and its quite dark when walk home at night. 7 to 10 mins walk to platinum mall and the nearest BTS station. massage parlour and 7-11 nearby. some stalls selling thai street food along the way when you walk to the main road heading to platinum mall. many tuk tuk and taxi Breakfast: may skip the breakfast cause the choice is not much. western breakfast (egg and sausage) which are already cold. and a choice of food order thru the counter. which is different everyday. (eg pad thai, fried rice). others are breads, salad, limited choice of cereals and fruits. Room: Small room just nice for 2 pax. shower and toilet are separated. Sound proof not so good. can hear next door neighbour. overall clean room. wifi connection is strong and fast. towels, shower gel and shampoo provide. small kettle for boiling water.
The Hotel is located on a very small alley in Pratunam area. The location is quiet but very convenient for Shopping. The room size is a bit small but for the price in Bangkok it is very reasonable. The breakfast was good and also healthy. There are a lot of newer hotels around the area but this hotel is still competitive.
Great hotel! Above average, cold aircon, great location, pleanty of street food and safe eating restaurants. Massage to your room or ample massage parlour around hotel. Will stay again. Staff are good!
Stayed for 4 nights at this small boutique hotel, overall it was not bad for the budget price. Staff are polite in general but service seems to lack some warmth and smiles. The hotel is smoke free! :) Place is clean and safe in general, but would love it if the housekeeping is more proactive in topping up the supplies eg cotton buds. They don't provide toothbrush/ combs, you would need to purchase at the reception. If you are a light sleeper, you might be waken up early in the morning by the buzz outside your room. Take note of extra charges like luggage storage etc. Breakfast has limited choices but you can always choose to fill up your tummies with the yummy street food options available just a stone away from the hotel. You can never get hungry in Bangkok. It is a good choice if you are looking at budget hotel near shopping areas in pratunam. Many massage joints nearby as well to end off your day with a soothing therapy.
Well I truly recommend travelers this cozy room and perfect location hotel, fast speed internet. Very reasonable room price. It was short trip for me to stay there but I loved the hotel great location, friendly staff. We Could walk around the areas with nice local people around: Perfect place to see more natural way of how people enjoy and are living there.
Be warned first, if you are looking for a place with ease of accessible, this is definitely not the right place for you. You will need to take about 10 mins (average) to walk to the hotel. Moreover at night, the path to the hotel is not well lit. Aside from the distance from Ratchathewi station, and the weird problem with the shower where the temperature tends to go from hot to ice cold, I didn't have any problem with the hotel. The staff are pleasant and can communicate in english well enough. The hotel is also walking distance to platinum mall and on the way there (or back), you can also shop at the Pratunam Market. Room wise, it is comfortable and decently spacious for a boutique hotel. Breakfast buffet is average. Overall, it is a nice place to stay.
I booked the Metz Pratunam on Booking.com, as they had a good price online, and the rating wasn't too bad. ( i paid SGD159 for 4 days and 3 nights inclusive of breakfast) The hotel looks pretty nice, and the room is relatively clean. We stayed on the 5th floor, and the shower area and the water closet are across each other, which makes it a little more convenient i supposed, if you are with a friend and want to take a dump while your friend showers. The television wasn't good at all, and to be honest, i don't think much can be done about it. The guy at the lobby said it's the poor cable reception and that he would call the cable company, but nothing changed during the time we were there, but i thought maybe it's the TV cable problem, like if they got HDMI cables, perhaps the image quality would be better. If you are a light sleeper, then you will find yourself being awaken in the middle of the night, when your "floor mates" start coming back in late. You literally could hear people talking outside as they passed the room , and if they are calling across the hall to their friends, you will definately hear it. Most of the toiletries are there except no toothbrush or toothpaste which you have to purchase. There is a hairdryer in the room though. On our last day at the hotel, in the morning we heard weird noises coming from the air conditioner. Initially, i thought it was coming from outside the hallway, but then it sounded like little objects like 'sand' or pieces of 'plastic' falling out, and when i looked up, it seemed like there were white bits coming out of the aircon on to the floor. I was trying to look at what was coming out and i felt something cold on the end of my bed. It was ice believe it or not. Perhaps the aircon was too cold (though i set it at 23 degrees) or it was an accumulation of the past few days, maybe it was some setting i did on the aircon. My room was inclusive of breakfast, and i didn't know it was a buffet breakfast. I liked that they had 1 dish everyday that was Thai. They also had the usual bread, scrambled eggs and sausage, and also had fruits. But if you are in Thailand, just go for the Thai food. It's nice! The Metz, is located in a lane and can get quite confusing if it's your first time getting there. Across from the Metz is a halal cafe/restaurant, but the price of food is 100baht and above for your usual meal, versus 40 to 55 baht at the Platinum Mall foodcourt (which is about 10 to 15 mins walk from the hotel). Like other reviewers mention, there are many other massage shops near the area, but what i like is the happy hour promo for some of the places so you get your usual foot massage at 200 baht instead of the usual 250 baht. A word of advice, not to do aromatherapy massage, because it's really quite pricey and make sure you check if you can choose your scents. There is a branch called Smile Massage and they had the option to choose your scents for 500 baht/hr and 900 baht/2 hours. They had a happy hour foot massage (200 baht) till 7pm and i liked that they did the hot compress for your back too! It was really the extra touch that i did not experience elsewhere. Another place that had good massage was a massage place at the end of the link bridge from Indra Plaza. Foot massage was 200 baht too (regardless of time of the day) and both me and my friend felt it was good. Usually it's hit and miss at the other places, with either one of us enjoying the massage.
Booked this hotel under booking.com. receptionist was friendly , location was near the mall like 5 mins to 10 mins walk away . Breakfast was ok . Room cleanliness was ok . Only things i didnt like was the shower place after shower the water will flow out cause is a small cubic room for shower and opposite was the toilet bowl so u need to put on a towel n move to the opposite after toilet and walk to the shower room too hassle for me . For me is worth the price .
