Mercure Bangkok Siam4.0 out of 5.0

I must admit that the hotel location is excellent, few steps away to the the sky train and few meters to 4 big shopping malls. Although I wasn't impressed with the food they serve in the restaurant and since we were in the executive floor, we had access to the lounge which gives a much better food and drinks but overall, I will recommend this hotel to everyone who isn't fussy about food but most importantly the location and accessibility to transportation. Thank you very much Mercure and Accor for this wonderful Bangkok experience.
Visited with Family in Nov 2017 Location: 5 out of 5. It is situated right in the heart of Siam and right next to the BTS station. Amazing location. Rooms: 5/5 Same as what you see in the pictures on trip advisor. We booked basic rooms and they were very neat and all infrastructure was nice. Pool: 3/5 Basic pool on the terrace. No kids pool separately. But it is good for a budget business hotel. The roof top also gives a great view of the city. Hospitality and Professionalism: 1/5 Below par. The check in was not smooth, we had booked 4 rooms and they gave us one of the rooms on a different floor. This was despite of the fact that I mailed them a week before my visit requesting to take special care of us as we were on a family trip. The staff at front desk were rude and they gave it back to me that you never informed us that you wanted rooms on same floor. I agree that I never asked them hard coded in words but this is basic. I mean how else would have made it better for us. We did not get any upgrades or freebies, having all rooms together was basic and least we would have wanted. Further more the way they handled this was NOT with a smile but as a BURDEN. There were three more instances. One, where we informed the front desk that basin is leaking in one of the bathrooms, they never came back to us. Second, they forgot to place water bottles in one of the rooms on day 2, but their housekeeping had something else in the records, after arguing twice they sent in the bottles. I mean it is only 20 BAHTS per bottle, why in the world we would have argued for 40 BAHTS if we would really have been at fault? We decided to give up but again the rudeness of their staff led us to reach the front desk and argue it out. Third, we informed at the front desk that we have lost some money and it may be in the hotel. They never came back to us even for saying that they did not find anything. A two minute follow up would have assured us that we are in good hands even if we never found the money. Ambience: 3.5/5 Hotel interiors are good. Not LUXURY but still has a freshness to it. All the stuff is kept clean and smelling good. Overall, we had a bitter experience in terms of front desk. But the property is good and especially the location is just awesome. It is a NOT BAD option if you are on a business trip or travelling alone. Family wise, I would like to explore more options nearby, the next time I visit Bangkok.
We stayed here for 18 nights. The staff were friendly and accommodating. It’s very close to a Tops supermarket for all your daily requirements, but you’ll need to travel to find a good food outlet that sells wine with your meal. The hotel will need an upgrade soon if it’s going to remain in the Mercure chain.
This is probably our 10th time staying in this hotel. Ideal location (near the National Stadium sky train, MBK Mall and walking distance to Siam Paragon, Siam Square and Siam Centre). Good service staff.
New modern hotel, room has everything you may need all in perfect condition. Good breakfast. Good servide. Central location: 5 minutes walk to MBK, Siam Center and to BTS (skytrain). Recommended, good value for money.
My family and I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights during October. The rooms were big and clean, the stuff members were friendly and helpfull. The hotel is located in the top stories of the building (25+) , hence, has a great view (in the night it looks like Manhaten). The location is amazing, 5 minutes walk from the 3 famous malls (MBK, Siam discovery and Siam center). Very good value for money.
Location: awesome, very convenient, with a 7-11 convenience store just downstairs at the lobby. A stone's throw to the National Stadium BTS station. 15 mins walk to Pratunam area and Platinum Mall. Ibis is also next to Mercure but the rooms are more spacious. Rooms & comfort: very spacious for 2 twin bedder room. We were on the 26th floor, beautiful view. Clean and new furnishings. Comfortable stay for me friend and I. Only thing was the pretty bad TV reception and lack of interesting programs. Check-in and check-out: easy, fast and fuss-free. You could put your luggage at the deposit counter since check in time was at 2pm. Breakfast at hotel: I'd have to say the breakfast was a disappointment. The porridge was cold, not just lukewarm, totally cold like it came out from the fridge. The only thing that was acceptable for me was the toasts. Coffee tasted odd as well, like there was a stale smell despite it being fresh from the coffee dispenser. Price of hotel: we booked this on Hotel.com and it was about SGD100 which was quite ok. Transport & accessibility from airport: we used the Grab app to get a taxi from the airport so it was pretty safe and quick. Takes about 45-60mins to the Suvarnabhumi airport. Take into consideration the heavy traffic as well, best is to set aside about 1.5hrs just in case. Traffic in bangkok city is always heavy and chaotic, we also used tuktuk for the hair-raising experience (pun intended), it was fun, fast and thrilling.
Chose this hotel as I could redeem for a stay via my points. The hotel has a swimming pool (small), fitness centre (very limited), restaurant (they wanted to charge me full price for my meal even when I showed them my gold card), meeting room & bar lounge. The room I was allocated had ants and I had to change room. The wifi was rather spotty. The water kettle in the room was broken. Also when I wanted to have breakfast with my wife they wanted to charged me for my wife even though I booked for 2 breakfast. They claim it was because my wife did not register which was strange. The hotel however it located at several big malls. The Bangkok Arts and culture Centre nearby. I had a bad experience as someone left picture frames on the floor and I stepped on one of them. I ended up having to pay for it even though they did not cordoned off the area. There is laundry service at Wendy's House. The train is next to the hotel and a supermarket is walking distance away.
Thanks to the Front Office Manager Ms. Rattana Prasertklang who warmly welcomed me and my Danish friend Per to Mercure Siam in Bangkok. Often the hotels don’t keep the promises they give at the moment of booking and the guests are disappointed when they arrive. But in the case of Ms. Rattana we got everything as it was promised and guaranteed and we were really glad about that. The hotel is very clean and nice, with perfect location in front of BTS Station and Siam shopping center and far from the noisy Nana area of European and Middle East tourists. The rooms are spacious and with a beautiful view of the city. The roof pool at the top 29th floor is really impressive. The staff is very kind, especially the breakfast service offering an excellent breakfast. Mercure Siam is a great choice to stay in Bangkok and we highly recommend it. Marko Kurdos, November 2017
Drove to Bangkok for a 1 night stay with my family of 4. Chosen this hotel for location and car park. The hotel meets its classification. Clean, good service, good location for shopping, dining, and train access. Arrived at 8 p.m. and the staff welcomed us great and listened to our request for a connecting door. Could be better if there is welcome drink as I drove all the way from Phuket. The Front Desk staff is snappy especially the managers and supervisors. The man who is the Supervisor or Asst. Manager should be commended. He did his best to make me and my family at home. Then, the housekeeping staff was so customer oriented, in a sense that I did not need to ask what we require in the room. The views from my room is tops and my kids slept in their room with the curtains open. The parking for my car is sufficient but big cars/trucks might have a problem on the space. There is a 24 hour 7-11 at the lobby connected with Ibis so it is quite convenient. Need to work on the TV channels, not clear and few English channels with movies. Will I go back? Yes, but a 3 night stay should be better.
