Marvel Hotel Bangkok4.0 out of 5.0

My husband n I stayed 3 nights at this hotel. It was advertised as a 4 star hotel but I would say 2 or 3. Lobby : presentable Staff : not bad but not very friendly either. Room : the size is decent enough but the bathroom is very small with tiny bathtub. Water pressure n water temperature also not impressive. WiFi : available for free but slow. Breakfast : acceptable but basic n there was often delay in replenishing food. Also a big group of Chinese tourists came down for breakfast all together at once and the restaurant was not big enough to accommodate all the guests. Toiletries : well replenished. Towels were bit old but acceptable. Location : convenient. Many restaurants/bars, convenient stores, pharmacies around. Noise : no noise from the streets but big noise (roosters) from a chicken farm back of the hotel. It was kinda interesting for me to hear roosters in the middle of city. I didn’t mind but my husband was annoyed every morning. Amenities : safe is available which was good. No slippers for the wooden floor. Overall experience, it was disappointing but I have to think how much I paid (under 1500 bahts per night). So for that 3 stars.
Just been in Bangkok last week and we stayed in marvel hotel. Our room is cleaned, plus friendly staffs and breakfast buffet is good. It is near the famous terminal 21 mall. We will Plan to stay there again next visit.
We have already booked rooms through booking portal. When we checked-in, the room we had been assigned was not good but thanks to FO boy(don't remember the name) who quickly changed our room and upgraded our room. Breakfast was good and had decent options for vegetarians. Housekeeping staff was good. Overall it was a good memorable stay.
Marvelous Marvel Hotel with accommodating and hospitable staff. Nice atmosphere and good location in the heart of Bangkok. Great hotel with swimming pool, fitness and a very interesting breakfast buffet. 🙂
I LOVED my 8 night stay at this hotel. Yes it could do with an update, but it was comfortable, pleasant and clean in every respect. I was so happy for some of the comforts provided for the very reasonable mid-range price. Most of all - the 30 sq metre room with a genuine king sized bed & four pillows, a full sized comfortable sofa, desk and chair, bedside lamps both sides of bed, good wifi, and a master switch for all lights at the bedside. Other nice touches included an in room safe, bathrobes, TWO showers in the bathroom (but not a bidet as was advertised on the booking site), a bath, padded coathangers, two room keys and reliable and sensible house keeeping. Also wonderful was how quiet our room was - effectively sound proofed. There was a pool and fitness centre which we didn't use, or the in-house massage, nor did we have breakfast. On the one occasion that the wifi had a problem, within a minute, there was someone in our room with a plug in modem to fix it. The people in reception were polite and efficient, and acknowledged me each time I walked by. No one bothered us for tips. The hotel is well located with 7-11 stores nearby, fruit stalls, and plenty of bars, entertainment, night street food and restaurants. Try the excellent and well-priced Thai restaurant (only 20 metres to the left of the hotel) which offers top home made dishes. If you are looking to move around the city, the hotel is only a short walk from Phrom Phong BTS skytrain on busy Sukhumvit Rd. Grab a top pizza from The Pizza Company shop on Sukhumvit Road between the skytrain and the hotel. Soi 22 itself is narrow, like most Soi's, so traffic can build up at times. If you want a taxi or tuk tuk it might be worth walking to the end of the street before you grab one.
This hotel located on the small road, so the traffic jam often happened in the rush hours. The room is quite old. The staff is nice. The breakfast buffet is so boring, the chefs filled food very slow. There are many good restaurants and bars near hotels.
We stayed in the Month of March, we had booked our stay from MakeMyTrip. We had come for our honeymoon and were 2 couples. It was just horrible. Our package included stay in pattaya- grand bella and bangkok in marvel hotel. Defining the stay- We were on our honeymoon both me and my friend, we requested them to upgrade us and they upgraded us to a twin room. I mean who in the right mind upgrades couples on honeymoon to twin room that too interconnecting We again called up the reception to change the room and checked back into the base category. The entire experience was so painful. They have central AC which was pushing out stale damp air. We as it were not well and fell ill by evening. I had to take my wife to the hospital near by and they gave her medicine for lung infection. it was such a painful experience. My friend's wife also fell ill. We couldnt do anything in bangkok and had to stay back in the hotel. wasting our 2 night stay. The food is a basic buffet breakfast. No indian food unlike the other hotels, they had kept rice for breakfast. I was astounded. Cut fruits had banana and papaya. Ginger hotel in india serves better breakfast and is a relative 4 star compared to this. The employees want money and directly ask for it as tip. we had a service guy who kept following us and telling that he will arrange a cheap tour and that we should book through him and not tell it to anyone. Thankfully there is a restaurant at the entrance which serves a little overpriced food. But gave us respite. Horrible experience, i wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
I was here twice back to back with two different groups staying at this hotel and I found this property a great place to stay, location is on Soi 22 close walking distance to Sukhumvit. The downside is there is not much of a parking area outside the hotel for coaches and the road is narrow. Once you are inside you are liked after very well, the staff are very helpful and courteous, I would like to bring to the notice of the management and guests in general that they have two great staff I noticed on both occasions one is Mr.Ian Mark in the Reception he was ever so helpful, soft spoken and polite, thank you Mr. Ian for your help, much appreciated. Second person I found who single handled managed to keep the guests happy with her services was Ms.Ning at the hotel restaurant. During the morning rush hour during breakfast she was able to keep her cool and serve guests, replenishing the empty dishes, organising hot milk and hot water for a few guests, clearing dishes and with her million dollar smile that radiated from her heart, she I found was someone who took pride and enjoyed her work. Thank you Ms.Ning. The rooms are clean and comfortable it has all the amenities in place, if only they could replace the analogue TVs it would look more spruced up. They had a writing desk a sofa and chairs which were comfortable. The bathroom was having all the amenities and spotless. There is an in-house spa which is open from 4 PM to 4 AM and offer traditional massage at reasonable rates. A few of my group members tried the various traditional massages and said it was very good. The hotel has a swimming pool on the 6th floor it was an average size pool. They have a nice lobby with nice pleasing decor with a well stocked bar. Great ambience, where one can relax and chill out with friends. The breakfast spread offered was mainly for Chinese, Japanese and Korean guests Indians had to make do with bread, butter, jam, cereals and fruits. I wish they could introduce some Indian menu would be great. This is definitely a wonderful place to stay at affordable prices. Try it and you will not be disappointed.
We spent 2 nights and 3 days in this hotel. Its an average old hotel need some makeover.Room was clean but too much of furniture make it looks crowded.Bath room need lot of changes to make it comfortable.Coming out from bathtub was not easy as the tub was high.Staff members were pleasant and helpful
Hallways bit smelly room needs makeover too much furniture makes room small & bathroom awkward. Include breakfast was ok. Not bad location to stay. Staff was pretty nice, went late for breakfast 1 day & they still cooked us fresh eggs.
