King Park Avenue Hotel

We have stayed at King Park since 2005 and have always made it our home away from home while in Bangkok. Our last stay there, a couple of days ago was a real disappointment. The internet (WIFI) was the worst I have ever seen in any hotel. On, off, on, off etc etc---not reliable to to do work with. Next was the TV selections. Only Thai channels--no more CNN or BBC. This doesn't leave much in room entertainment available. My wife does business calls in Bangkok so I'm left to my own resources and with no English TV or reliable internet, this plce is a scratch. In all fairness though, I must say the staff are very friendly and service is A1. The rooms are now refurbished and quite nice. Get the TV channels upgraded and a new WIFI system installed and we will be back for sure. Oh, yes, very nice pool and fitness room adjacent.

Very good.....well priced value for was clean ,air conditioned and well presented... comfortable bed..staff and room service were happy to comply with any requests..... Breakfast was very good as were the restaurant has a great swimming pool...short walk to shopping centre and local restaurants and food everywhere..pleasant and suited our needs ....would definitely stay here again ...BKK AIRPORT took about 25 minutes but that depends on the traffic, reception can advise.....

I had read the reviews and was worried what I was going to find, but everything was pretty good. The staff are extremely welcoming and friendly, the internet worked fine, I had no problem with noise at all and the rooms were pretty clean. There was free bottled water and a complimentary drink on arrival and the breakfast buffet had a large selection to choose from. I didnt try out the fitness room but the swimming pool was nice and a good temperature. The location is good for a few nights - fairly close to the airport and there is a huge shopping mall and a night market, but other than that there isn't much to do. There is a lot of street food around though. The only issue was that we had a few cockroaches in our rooms but other than that I was very pleased with my stay.

I stayed here 2 nights last week on a business client ooked for me as it was convenient near their office. The good things: near airport, room was fine, basic but all you need, shower excellent, plenty of water, staff very nice and welcoming. The small bar is a nice place to have a cold beer at a reasonable price. Price for the room including breakfast very acceptable. The bad things: Food, and i mean all food at the buffet too spicy for me.....had a la carte next day and was fine.Internet is cumbersome and not available the second day of my stay, so no emails,no work opportunity. The hotel has many Chinese tour groups which means noisy and rude people. The area itself is not top notch. The hotel card claimed to have massage and a relax area, but i did not Would i come back here? Not likely.....internet is my lifeline with my job and if they cannot garantee a stable connection ,sorry, i will look for another place.

The location is good; it is near airport, the shopping malls and Train Night market. Also the swimming pool area is nicer than expected. However the hotell itself is a bit dusty and old. Ok for budget and couple of nights. The personnel is helpfull.

This hotel is mainly for budget travel, room setup is basic, and you have uninvited visitors such as small pests. Certain part of the room was not maintained properly As I only going to stay for a night to sleep, at the price of 1700 B, will take it Breakfast is not bad, more oriental. Note: Lots of tour groups use this hotel

I stayed in this hotel 4 years ago and gave it a good review. If you've read other reviews you've heard about tour groups. It is true that there are a lot of tour groups going through, but its not necessarily bad. By American standards the hotel is below average but I think by Thai standards it's about on par with others from what I've seen unless you go with a 5 star hotel. I stayed for a week and the price was very reasonable (cheap really) but the hotel could use some renovation. Carpet is dirty and walls could use paint. If the rooms were as nice as the lobby it would be great! If you are looking for a great value and the location is good for you then this isn't a bad option as long as you have realistic expectations. I will say the breakfast buffet which is included is a pretty good spread of food.

The hotel is totally geared to the Chinese tour group market with the hard wear and tear that frequent turnover entails. Think Novotel combined with some gallant attempts by the harassed staff to be pleasant, and you have a clear idea of this place. The rooms are large and pleasant, despite the obvious wear and tear. The biggest upside is the exceptional rooftop swimming pool, to which you could add secure underground parking; the downsides are emphatically the restaurant and the location halfway between the airport and the charms of downtown. Travellers can do better elsewhere at half the price, at friendlier, newer and better-located hotels.

The hotel rooms are large some rooms are yet to be renovated but some are fair. It is bit our side of Bangkok , bang na area. The problem is away from heart of Bangkok sukhmwit area. I requested for king bed and they could not get me the king bed for 3 days.

Well the hotel is certainly a classic but not quite in a good way. It looks like it might have been quite grand back in the day but now it's old and worn. It even smells old. Housekeeping seems quite lax. I found bits of waste paper and plastic left in the desk drawer. My colleague in another room told me he found one of the complimentary bottles of water he had was already opened and partly drunk out of. Convenience stores and food trucks are aplenty right outside the hotel. If you are Chinese, these shops seem likely to be able to communicate with you. Perhaps the hotel is popular with tourists from China. Further out but still within walking distance are a couple of large malls. No train station nearby though. If you're a tourist wanting to visit sights, you'll have to get a taxi out. And that might take 30 minutes if there is no traffic snarl. All in all, not a terrible place. You might consider it if you have business in the area. Wouldn't really recommend it though, as you can find better hotels in better locations for the same price or less.
