If it's all about location for you then you really can't go wrong with the Intercon BKK or its sister hotel, the Holiday Inn, located next door. The Intercon is a large hotel and that is see at breakfast... always a traffic jam! The rooms are lovely and big enough for a family of three (maybe even 4!) and the service is very good. Used the gym also which was fine. Couldn't use the pool as the water was freezing. Not heated. Didn't eat at any of the restaurants but we did order room service which was fine. Will definitely stay there if headed back to BKK. Got a room upgrade as well as a Spire Elite member. And some free drinks at the bar as well.
Located adjacent to the main shopping centres. The hotel is consistent in attentive friendly service. Rooms and bathrooms are large and the beds comfy. Food and snacks are expensive. The breakfast is an exprience not to be missed. Leave plenty of time to enjoy. The staff were proactive and interacted in a friendly professional manner.
The general level of service in all areas of this hotel is exceptioal. Especially the breakfast is one of the best spreads I have expierenced during my many years of business travel Do not look any further if visiting Bangkok
This was our second stay at Bangkok in less than a year, last July we stayed at Kempinski, this time we decided to stay at Intercontinental, and I never regretted this decision. from the moment I entered the hotel, I felt very welcome. We were checked-in by lily at the IHG members desk, and she even convinced me to become an Ambassador member in which I did. We were given room no. 2514 on 25th floor. The room was perfect. the size was good, the bed was comfortable (although I felt that one side of the bed was lower than the other so it seems the mattress needs to be changed), a fruit basket, the bathroom was just wow and most importantly very clean and neat. I loved everything in this hotel, but the main thing was the service. Whatever we needed, we got. We did not meet a single employee at the hotel who did not treat us well or even smile. We were greeted from the moment we entered the hotel till the moment we left. The food at the restaurant was great. Starting with the breakfast, the variety was amazing and the restaurant is so big it is never busy. I also noticed that there is a change in the menu on a daily basis which was great. the service again at the restaurant was very good. We also tried Theo Mio, amazing Italian food and exceptional service, and as an Ambassador I got 20% off. I had an issue with my transportation arranged by my Airline, concierge fixed it for me in a minute. Concierge are very knowledgeable and attentive. Finally, I would like to thank the following who made our stay amazing: 1) Lily at IHG Desk: Very smooth check-in and a very friendly person. 2) Chia Wen at Reception: Helped us with Bangkok attractions although it was not his job. 3) Kanlaya at Concierge: very friendly and very knowledgeable. 4) Jaded at Restaurant (Mezzanine Floor): Very attentive and helpful, was doing the job of 5 people all at once. 5) Tawaree at Concierge: Helped me with the transportation issue with a smile. 6) Joompol at Restaurant (Mezzanine Floor): He seemed to be the manager, but never hesitated to serve people. He made sure we got the fruits we wanted even though it was not available at the buffet. 7) MJ at Concierge: Helped us through the phone, again very attentive and friendly. Thank you all for making our stay at Bangkok and unforgettable one. Once I decide to come to Bangkok, for sure Intercontinental will be where I will stay.
One night stay while in transit to KL from Chiang Mai. Property is centrally located and easy to get to using the public transportation - as a New Yorker, I tried it. Easy few blocks walk. Also connected to a high end mall, found next door I may have looked a little rustic after my humid walk, but was treated well during check in at the Ambassador desk - join the program... Was accommodated with a lovely, newly renovated one bedroom suite which was perfect. ROOM - perfect curved Windows’s walls overlooking the city. Absolutely plush bed. Smart TV seemed to have a mind of its own so I unplugged it. LIVING ROOM - with some snacks, another TV and more views of the city. BATHROOM - small changing area with storage and hanging space, lots of room. Standing shower, tub, toilet room and plenty of bright lights! LOBBY LOUNGE - with snacks and a happy hour. Great service here for Ambassador guests. ROOF POOL - swam here and enjoyed the views until the place closed down. There’s a gym in the vicinity, but I didn’t use it. Can’t wait to come back. Truly enjoyed my short time here.
Love this hotel from the staff to the location all 10/10 the club intercontinental is very good and worth every cent the views and expansive floor area means its never crowded my one bedroom corner suite was a fantastic size and will book again the only real negative for me was when you get your laundry back they cellophane every individual item whilst it looks good the worlds environment can do without !I’m sure your find 99% of people would be happy with just having there washing nicely folded! See you soon Intercontinental. Also a special mention to the lovely and helpful lady at the pool area always very helpful smiley and nice to her customers sorry I forgotten her name ANDREW Brodie nz
We had spent three nights in IC Bangkok before heading to Pattaya, and we were very happy with our stay. Upon arrival, the bed and the bathtub were decorated with beautiful rose petals. Besides, fresh roses and a lovely HAPPY ANNIVERSARY cake were arranged on the table. Ms Tawanree, the lady at the concierge desk was very caring and helpful when my husband had a bout of ‘gastro’. She was also the ‘go-to’ lady whenever we need anything. A huge thanks to her here. We would definitely come back to this hotel when staying in Bangkok again.
Had an opportunity during a customer trip to visit this hotel in Bangkok and stayed there with out customer for a couple of days. Location is great and not too far from some of the attractions in Bangkok, rooms are very comfortable and service is from a good class which I think we used to see in most of the Asian countries. I am very positive surprises about the change Bangkok and their hotels went through over the last 15 years. From a low level to a high class level service in any sense. Hotel service and food is excellent and the hotel is a location for many Arabic nationalities as they serve halal food. So don’t be surprised to see a lot of Middle East faces there but it’s a higher class level of tourist who visit this hotel am no concern about too much of the typical Bangkok touristic stuff.... we went from her to a couple of interesting buss tours. Can really recommend this hotel amongst 5 ** cat.
It is very hard to find any fault with the Intercontinental. We have loved our stay here, on what has been our first visit to Bangkok. The hotel is situated in the shopping district, so there are lots of lovely air conditioned malls to walk around when it get too hot and sticky outside! We have really enjoyed the benefits of the Club Lounge - the afternoon tea is just wonderful, and evening cocktails (actually two hours!) presents a lovely opportunity to watch the sun set over the city. The Club Lounge staff are all very friendly and attentive, and helped to make the whole stay a most enjoyable one. I would thoroughly recommend for a visit to Bangkok. ☺️☺️
Although I stay in hotels almost 11 months of the year, I love returning to the intercontinental Bangkok. One of my top 10 business hotels to stay. Efficient service, spacious rooms and well located. They have excellent breakfasts and well appointed rooms with quality linens and amenities. Just what is needed for such a hotel.
