Being IHG Spire Elite member this is my first choice in Bangkok. Shopping,BTS and Restaurants all in walking distanz of the hotel. Many time I’m staying there and always everything is prepare in advance. Room is clean and spacious. Breakfast buffet provided sushi, dim-son, rice noodle, and many kinds of western cuisines. Special thanks to Khun Joob Jang and Khun Pee in the executive lounge for excellent service. Will see you again January.
Holiday Inn Sukhumvit is situated in a perfect location for visitors to Bangkok. All the sightseeing spots in the city as well as the shopping areas are within easy access to the hotel. The rooms are good and the free breakfast buffet is very good with a wide array to satisy anyone. Their staff are very polite and are amenable to entertaining our special requests. We travelled as a large group of friends and while they were not able to give us all rooms on the same floor, they did grant us access to all the floors where our group was scattered, as opposed to just the floor where each individual's room was, which is their usual security protocol. We were a large gaggle of women and probably drove the concierge and the bellboys a bit crazy with our large collection of luggage, but you wouldn't have known it from their smooth and patient manner. Lol. In conclusion, a great place to stay, with good facilities and warm and friendly staff.
The location of the hotel on Sukhumvit is central and very convenient. It is just a few minutes walk from the metro station (which is useful considering the traffic on Sukhumvit). The front office and check-in is on the 9th floor. Since I was in an Executive room, they had a separate check-in in the lounge. I was holding 2 separate reservations (for consecutive days) since I had to add on a day after I had made the first reservation. I particularly asked the lady at check-in whether I needed to check-out after one day and check-in again since there were 2 reservations covering the entire duration of the stay and she said that was not necessary since she had taken care of it. Later, it transpires that I was not awarded a credit for the stay nor was I given the appropriate amount of qualifying points. In spite of taking it up with the Front Office Manager, all she said was she will look into it but nothing happened. This was quite ridiculous because my movement to a higher status (Spire Elite) hinged on the qualifying points from this stay. To-date nothing has been done about the qualifying points which as I explained to the staff of HI Bangkok was very crucial. Extremely disappointing indeed! The rooms were comfortable and well appointed. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. The food in the restaurant was good - as was the service. The breakfast spread was quite large with various cuisine on offer. The offerings in the lounge were good as well. Overall, the stay was good but the response from the staff especially with regard to the missing qualifying points for part of the stay is extremely disappointing. Certainly I will not come back to this property just because of this - end to end service has to be good.
Good Location, Good staff, very quick check in and checkout. Room Service has greatly improved it's worth the cost. Rooms are always very clean. This is my go to hotel in Bangkok, I am partial to staying here. My only compliant is the price variances when trying to book a room online. My advice is to Log in at different times to get the best price.
Booked this place last minute using points as my travel plans were changed to include Bangkok. The attentive service started upon arrival as the bell boy took my bags and escorted me to the check in lobby. The lobby is on the 9th floor. Check in was fast an efficient and the gentleman that processed my check in was very polite and friendly. The room provided was very clean and there were power outlets all over the room. The internet was also quite efficient as I had to attend a video conference call online. The breakfast buffet was quite the spread. Various international offerings were provided including Japanese, Chinese and Indian. Of course western and Thai options were available too. I didn’t take advantage of the swimming pool but it seemed pretty clean.
Located right in the middle of busy Sukhumvit, this hotel is ideal for getting around Bangkok quickly and conveniently. Especially if you are on a short trip. Super friendly staff, efficient service, and BTS and subway within five minutes walk. Rooms are somewhat small, but we did not let that bother us much. The location more than makes up for it.
We stayed for a night. The hotel is good , service wise and location wise. Rooms were also great . Breakfast buffet is elaborate and amazingly had some Indian items. Though we had a short stay but we enjoyed a lot.Rooftop swimming pool offers a great view.
Very centrally located on Sukhumvit 22, well connected. Good food. Housekeeping was an issue as our room was not made on 2nd day till evening even after putting the card on door knob and we have to made call to front desk to get the same done. Hotel is not well maintained specially near swimming pool.
A relatively small international hotel. Room is comfortable and clean. Bath room may be a bit old with minimum facilities. Breakfast with average spread of western and Thai food. Buffet dinner in the same restaurant offers reasonable variety of choices. Staff are friendly. Location wise, it is slightly off the main shopping area. But this is made up by its proximity to the BTS. Hotel provides regular shuttle to the nearest BTS station. Immediately around the hotel there are many bars and local massage parlours.
During our recent 2 day stay, we were satisfied with the service and amenities of this hotel, located in Sukhumvit. But for those families travelling with kids, there may not be much to do in the hotel.
