I have stayed in Grand Inn since 2011 and every return trip to bangkok, I would choose his hotel as my first choice even if over the years the room rates increase rapidly. Returning to the hotel this time round was utterly disappointing for me even though I have chosen to book the biggest room, a suite in your hotel. Out of 5 nights, I did not have heater for my shower for 3 nights (and the remaining 2 was because I specifically requested a repair) and you should reward your great repairman, he’s a gem of the hotel amidst all the lazy and rude staff I have encountered this trip. Next was the kettle, I had a spoilt kettle sitting in my room for 5 nights without any replacement, kudos to your male staff for offering to boil water and bring to my room though. Last but not least and most importantly, I am unsure why your hotel decided to hire a front desk lady with a permanently angry and lazy attitude to welcome your guests. It makes my whole trip lousy and give me a firm decision not to come back anymore. Front desk is the most important for a any businesses’ image and I do not think she deserves to be working here and earning the salary. I hope I get a response and a satisfactory reply to my review so that I know the efforts I have taken to type this review is taken seriously. Thank you.
This hotel is in the worst location in Bangkok I literally felt like I was staying in downtown Bagdad Iraq. It is located in bangkoks Muslim area. Very unpleasant experience. We felt very unsafe. I would not recommend this hotel to any one.
Well... finally, after waiting 10 minutes for the wifi to finally kick in, I was able to log into Tripadvisor so I could leave my review (this should be indicative that the wifi here sucks). I booked this hotel 1 night using a hotel search engine website. The first night was worth the money spent; 85 RR all in. The second day, rather than just giving me the room at the same rate to accommodate the guest (...because that is what the hospitality business thrives on, accommodating their guests) they told me I needed to pay the walk in price of 120 RR. FINE! I did this for my second night because I had all my luggage everywhere and was too lazy to bother cleaning up. So many other places that offer similar rooms that are NON-SMOKING and provide breakfast for similar, if not lesser, price. The A/C in my room was a joke. I had to sleep with no covers and the A/C set at 16c. If I did this at any other hotel, I would woken up with influenza and had to visit the doctor for antibiotics due to the A/C kicking my butt the night before (this has happened while traveling in the past). I also asked for my bed to be made, new coffee and new towels. They hit 2/3 (coffee and towels), which is better then 50%, so I will give them a B+ for effort. All that being said, the location is good. The staff at the front desk are rude and don't understand hospitality and accommodating to guests (and this is why this review is now up). Rooms are spacious, although they should have gone with transparent glass over the tacky stained glass. Makes you feel like you are sleeping in a dungeon or a cathedral. Location and spacious room keeps this place at a 3/5.
This small frontage on Soi 3 Hotel is actually a nice clean Budget Hotel ideal for the great location of pubs and clubs on Soi 4, Sukhumvit Road etc. First impressions are that it needs an upgrade in certain areas (not many channels with good reception etc) but overall the front of house staff are friendly and very helpful. Also the cleaning staff did a great job and quite meticulous for thumbs up to them too. For the price nice clean budget hotel with excellent location (including clode to BTS Nana Station) !! Happy customer !
Absolutely awful hotel, staff poor, room unclean with wet walls and wallpaper bubbling! Tv doesn't work, safe no good, had no wifi for my whole stay of 2 days! First night lost power, loss of air con in 30 degrees is not pleasant, walked from 6th floor at 3/4am to find out what's going on, was given a sheet of A4 paper to fan myself with! "Really" not once did I get an apology from staff! Had to clean bathroom on arrival because was dirty and cobwebs everywhere! Room is dated and smells awful! I would recommend everyone to look elsewhere for accommodation!
I only booked this hotel for one night , as my usual hotel was full booked . My room was in need of a total renovation , the damaged air con unit was leaking water onto the floor ,when i awoke in the morning there were numerous insect bites on my back & arm. At times you can feel the room shake [ 6th floor] when i sat in the chair , this hotel maybe cheap , but it is also a nightmare , never again !. I do not enjoy leaving negative comments , this hotel should be shutdown plain & simple.
The only positive attribute of this budget hotel for me is that it is within walking distance of the UK Embassy ... as that was the reason for this visit to Bangkok. I arrived as I informed the hotel at 2315 and the Front of house staff were in the process of change-over and not interested in me! I asked for a non-smoking room when I booked .... no such thing apparently! The room was large ... at the front of the hotel as a result the traffic noise below without double glazing was very loud ... almost as loud as the air conditioning. Wifi was intermittent. Breakfast not available before 8 o'clock so as I had an appointment at 0830 ... had to go elsewhere. In the end having booked for 2 nights I stayed for one - without a refund - enough said!
I have stayed here before and will stay here again. There are a lot of hotels in this part of Bangkok in the same price bracket. I've tried them all. In my view this one is one of the best. You get a bathtub for one thing, and hot water both in the bath and the sink. The bed is big and comfortable. The cheaper rooms are a bit on the small side but I usually get a free upgrade. Then the rooms are very big (you could make 2 rooms out of it). The air conditioning works well across a wide temperature range. The hotel is old and could do with refurbishing (chips in the bath enamel for example) but for the money it's excellent. Staff are warm and welcoming. There is a reasonably priced mini bar in the wardrobe and soft red or blue glow lighting at night for toilet trips. I'll be back in September.
Stayed here for 2 nights. Superb location but hotel a bit dated but for the price and location, I guess you can't ask for much. Could do better with cleanliness. Located near the intersection that leads you to Nana Plaza and other pubs. Many other Arab and Indian restaurants. Nice kebab shop just below. Also a small street at the back that sells t-shirts and souvenirs.
We stayed here for four nights in suite rooms. The hotel location is just beside the main road and 3 min walk from BTS Nana. If you like Indian/Bangladeshi/Arabian foods this is the perfect place for you, just 1 min walk away from verities of restaurants and money changers. Highly recommended.
