The hotel's official website says all rooms have been renovated last year and shows all rooms in bright green colour. But upon check-in I only found a very dark room with dark brown furniture. The large dark brown wardrobes are particularly daunting. I am the scary type and feel that anything (cockroaches etc.) can come out from them any minute. But in broad daylight, I found that the room is not that bad after all. At least, there are no more dirty carpets. But traces of the renovation still remain. Dust from the renovation has settled on the top of the bed's headboard and corners/ sides of tables and has not been cleaned. And the bathroom has not been redone, still lined by dirty marble walls. Breakfast is only average. The pastries are stale.
Good location,near shopping centre. Easy to go somewhere else in Bangkok. Good for travel and stay. Show D C shopping mall, Rama 9 hospital. Only 20 minutes from here to Suvarnabhumi Air port . Very good .
I was there early of this month. I was waiting for my partner arrival and while waiting for my partner im arranging a surprise birthday party for him at you SKYBAR. The chief concierge was very helpful and im sorry i forgot his name and also the Skybar Manager with his and his team effort. The evening was memorable for us. What im really annoyed was some of the staffs that was not really helpful when i need to access for wifi to check on urgent emails and other messages. I tried to respond to my clients messages whenever i got access for wifi. Before this i was in your hotel as well. They always give me coupon password to use while am enjoying your hi tea set. Your reception not helping at all.She told me they dont do coupon password anymore and told me i need to order at your lounge then will give me password for wifi. Of course while waiting for my partner arrival i will sit and order meals at your lounge and after i ordered same thing they told me i need to stay in house in order to get wifi password. That was ridiculous! What if your business guess walk in at lounge to have meeting and want to use your wifi, you will say same thing? Im also hotelier background and im really pissed people give me this kind of attitude.Whats really upset me, when i try access your wifi page, there's column for in house guest and also for coupon access.! Can i say she lied to me? Even if you dont practise that anymore at least help me with that coz ive done reservation at your place and also enjoying meals at you lounge. How much would cost you just for wifi password?Traveller like us always need to be connected where ever we go. One more time you chief concierge helped me with the wifi access. Im really thankful to him with his effort. The lady who serve me at lounge was also helpful to me, i wana thank her as well. Overall, your hotel is a good hotel and i like it there. Been there many times but too bad this time it was spoiled a little.
I had such a great time staying at this hotel! It was my first time in Bangkok, making it so much enjoyable. From the moment I stepped out of the taxi to checking into my room, it was all smooth, quick and pleasant. I specifically requested for a room furthest from the elevator (thanks to fellow reviewers). Big and spacious bathroom, no weird "hotel" smell inside of the room nor the hallways, AC was very quiet. They upgraded my room which entitled me to an access to the executive lounge = complimentary daily happy hour buffet, 6pm-8pm (canapés, sushi boat, cheese platter, pizza, pasta, cakes, fruit + salad bowl). Food spread was just amazing! Small pool but they provide lots of sunbathing beds and a basic bar. Can't forget Urawan tho! She was very sweet and attentive, always smiling, welcoming me with cold orange juice and cold towel. She even called my room to remind me of the happy hour buffet! This hotel is also the nest of most air crews, definitely not a quite hotel. Downsides: they need to fix the toilet though, I had to flush at least twice for No.1. I am looking forward to my next trip!
I stayed in the hotel for two nights, for a business trip, and I have to admit it was pretty disappointing. The wifi crashed every 10 minutes and when it did work it was pretty slow, there were no hot water (lukewarm at best), the toilet didn't evacuate water properly, all in all it was obvious the facility is old and wasn't well maintained. On top of that it really seemed like the staff was doing the minimum effort to be hospitable and accommodating. A weird thing that kept occurring is different staff members asking me which airline I was from, and when I responded "none", they seemed to be somewhat surprised and slightly annoyed. I will definitely not go back there.
I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. The room was very big, clean and nice. Furniture is old and tired though, in corridors and in the lobby too. Very nice swimming pool. Customer service at reception and concierge was very bad and I would expect them to speak and understand English! Employees have no interest about their guests, never said sorry for their mistakes and they were unhelpful and sometimes arrogant and rude. Even a simple request about extra towels was rejected and I was told to ''remind them later''. There was a problem with the shuttle service, I could not find the exact spot where I had to take it, when I called the hotel they were unhelpful, could not speak or understand English, they even had problem talking with 2 Thai people that I stopped in the street because I thought there was a language barrier. When I complained to the concierge he just smiled and didn't say sorry. The hotel is far from the centre and not connected to any public transport, would never stay again.
rooms are clean but old and well maintained . they do have smoking floors so thats count as a point for them . you will just have to make sure you leave your valuables in the safe as on my last stay at the hotel , i had DND on but the houskeeper tried to come in to the room straightaway without nocking or ringing the bell that they normally should do as she taught no one was in the room . when she found me waiting for her bebind the door her answer was " i am just checking on you ! are you ok ! " when i contacted the hotel staff their answer was that it was a mistake . food on the otherhand is amazing and i love it , i ate in so many places outside the hotel but the food in the hotel was clean , tasty and fresh . if you wanna order from room service try to avoid the western part and order from the thai food you will find it very authentic and delicious. the location is nice and you have a hospital right by the hotel , a mall nearby and a lot of shops around , they also provide shuttle bus to 2 more malls Platinium and MBK
Check in was fast and efficient. The staff was smiling and very polite. The room was clean and everything was working in good order. However the lelevators were very close and the noise was disturbing (there are 6 lifts so one is always moving). After changing rooms the noise was less.
The hotel is located on Rama 9 Road, quite close to airport,Though it is little away from main shopping market of bangkok (Indira market) its a pleasure to stay there. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Service is awesome and breakfast is tasty. So I would definitely go back again.
Back again to Gulden Tulip hotel with the same smile on the staff faces always enjoy staying in the gulden tulip hotel The area is surrounded by many night activity which makes you busy at night nice malls near by the hotel also nice local area just few minutes away
