Was here from 13/4-16/4. It’s a decent hotel for 1/2 nights stay.. However, for a longer stay, i do not recommend.. the tv is broken.. hair dryer, towels, shampoo n body soap provided. Just one flat n soft pillow for each person.. they clean our room everyday, everyday fresh towels.. but we noticed every morning that nobody opt for their bfast package. We didn’t either. Nevertheless, its location is superb, VERY convenient. Less than 2 mins to the nearest 7e. Family marts, massage parlour and food stalls are really CLOSE by. Near Silom Rd for the songkran festival!
The Glitz is not a 'luxury' hotel, but it is a hotel with character. Slightly run down and with a 1980s feel perhaps it should be refurbished....but I like it as it is. They staff are very welcoming and they make you feel at home. Here a special mention must be made for the woman who serves breakfast in the morning; she is wonderful. Outside lies the pleasures of Bangkok right on your doorstep. Restaurants, bars, transport options - they are all there! What's not to love.
Just one night drop off for a nap. Overall service is good, in room amenities is decent. The hotel is quite new. I have a problem with in-room safety box because it is still manual model. Difficult to use it, actually is very necessary for me. Bad point is can't sleep well to noisy disturbance during the night even stay in high floor.
We upgraded to a suite hoping that it would be a nice large room like the ones photographed. The room was huge, but it was dimly lit, the walls were bare except for the loud wallpaper. The furniture was scuffed and pretty old, the paint was dingy, there was mildew all over the bathtub, and several ants on the sad lumpy mattress. For $60 I could have stayed elsewhere.
The staff are very friendly and helpfull, and more than make up for any short comings of this budget hotel. The lack of a passenger lift could be the main one, but this did not bother me. The aircon worked great and drowned out a bit of the street noise levels. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom good with a shower over the bath. The only english TV channel that I could find was France 24, of the 100's available. Breakfast is available on the 1st floor, but I ate out. There is a very good restaurant on the ground floor next to reception, even if only just to sit outside with a beer watching the passing crowds. Checking out for my flight home, the receptionist gave me a cupcake for the new year, an unexpected final touch.
Simple, practical and great aircon! Please fix the TV soon. I enjoyed the walk up and down the elevator. Pros - quiet, communal water cooler 24/7, shopping, 7/11, taxis, fast food, smoothie stands, restaurants, friendly staff, night market, pubs, entertainment. Cons - no TV, smell in bathroom. Cris D.
I must confess I have stayed here a few times when planning on being active and naughty in the local nightlife. It's clean, convenient and good priced. Rooms are large and decorated in a pseudo modern way. Comfortable enough for a night or three. Friendly staff and nothing to complain about. Have fun
First impressions of the room where not overwhelming, but for the price I think you can't expect more. What really sets this place apart are the people who will go out of their way to help you. A nice lady even made our 2 min noodles for us! Perfect for us for a night as we where only in Bangkok to apply for a visa.
Really nice big room and jacc bath with shower but cleaning could be better black on grout in shower area DON'T get breakfast unless you like Asian food even then not good value Paid about 200bt extra for breakfast They hadn't bothered to put on filter coffee machine and wouldn't do it when asked No fruit juice No milk only whitener powder even for tea! Choice of 3 Asian dishes probably OK but got my order wrong I just had a salty omelette. Situation v good Summary Good value for 1100 bt but poor breakfast
Very affordable place, but since its extremely budget friendly & located near night market would not recommend to families or couples. Its good for friends backpacking in Thailand & who want to stopover in Bangkok for night life & partying only.
