I booked this place as my usual weekend hotel (Novotel at the end of Si Lom Road) was booked up. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I had stepped back in time, though I'm not quite sure which century I was in. Much of the decor - the fake flowers, the marble everywhere, the floral prints, the dark woods - reminded me of the 70s...I half expected the chairs or sofas to have plastic covering them. The place is relatively clean, but there were stains all over the walls and carpet in my room. The bed was relatively comfortable, though I've experienced much better. The bathroom was spacious, though the towels and toiletries were very cheap. Ironically, they had signs about encouraging guests to reuse towels and not waste water, while offering all kinds of little toiletries that came wrapped individually in plastic bags - I cannot imagine how many plastic bags this place throws away each day. Another odd thing: the faucets all had little red (hot) or blue (cold) stickers on them for guests - it was likely to ensure guests don't burn themselves (water pressure and temp were great, admittedly!), but it looked so cheap. The skirt on the box spring and the box spring itself were stained, while the carpet had clearly been around for ages. Just a really tired, sad room. Staff were quite nice and friendly at the hotel without ever being intrusive. The woman who cleaned my room both days was very sweet and welcoming, as were the folks at check-in. Truly, the people here are the best part of this establishment, though in Bangkok we aren't short of hospitality. Even at $49/night, my stay was not one I'd like to repeat, as there are plenty of places around the neighborhood which can compete on price and blow the Evergreen out of the water with respect to ambiance, decor, and comfort. Definitely a miss.
Rooms with all what you need, clean, good 4 star! The rooms are old style , very comfortable! Good location, easy to explore bangkok with public transportation. Quiet rooms, no noice. Lots of Chinese travelers as Chinese hotel brand
Delicious buffet lunch at Evergreen Laurel Hotel at Sathorn road. We found great big pawn and fresh crab made in grill cooking !! We love to have lunch here. Seafood , stun pork, bakery and vanilla ice-cream in reasonable price only 449฿ Per head.;
We upgraded to a suite that cost us under Bht 3000 inc breakfast - excellent value. Staff were the usual charming Thai types and the breakfast buffet was good with extensive choice. The room decor was an older stylye but the room was spacious with a great veiw of Bangkok. A short walk to Chong Nonsi Skytrain and a tuk tuk up Sathorn Road to MRT Lumphini. All in all a nice experience and highgly recomended.
Is a short stay for a night. Checked in late. Staff are helpful and attentive. Breakfast variety is good. Room condition is good due to recent refurbishment. Door entry used key access and room size adequate.
Had a pleasant stay there in feb. It is an old hotel, dated but clean and cozy. Room is in generous size. Breakfast is a little bit dull, not many choices. Swimming pool is small but nice. I would stay there again if there's a promotion.
First class still here in room 1009 this hotel is stunning the room fabulous the whole place is absolutely fabulous the special touches are wonderful the staff are among the best I've ever witnessed at first class service this place is wort a visit certainly will return
The staff is friendly, it is nicely situated for walking to many local sites, good swimming pool although not too big, and the entertainment in the bar is great. Happy Hour is a little different, it is two for the price of one, and you must order exactly the same drink for the same person.
I stayed at Evergreen Laurel Bangkok Room 903 on 24-26 March & 1007 on 7- 9 April 2017. The decorations & amenities of the room were equipped with everything that you need. The room was spacious. I really love the big bathroom especially the marble. The hotel was very clean with classic and elegant in style. The management of the hotel should be proud of their staff with their great attitude in going beyond guest experience and expectation. This was from the moment that I arrived at the hotel to the doorman, porter, concierge, reception and Cafe Laurel staff as well as housekeeping staff especially Khun Bee Malinee who is such a great asset of your hotel and greeted me while I was there every time. The Cafe Laurel for breakfast was absolutely perfect and what I can say they did have variety options for breakfast including the beautiful Asian breakfast which was the most highlight of my stay. Khun Hom was such a fabulous host. I would love to mention all of the staff names but sorry I can't recall their names all. They were all kind and wonderful. All in all I will definitely be back. Thank you to you all once again for a great stay.
Nicely located. Good restaurants nearby. Well appointed breakfast,with lots of selections. Friendly English -speaking staff. Nice, clean rooms, although showing signs of wear, slightly worn carpets, slippery marble floors in bathrooms. Laundry is expensive.
