2nd stay at the DoubleTree and I would not do so if I did not like it in the first place. Stayed at a similar room type, just facing the pool side this time. There was this pool party during the weekend, so for people who do not enjoy the heavy bass and loud music, they allow you to move to the Hilton next door and use their pool, so quite considerate. One thing I discovered this time was that the location was actually not as ideal as my previous stay, maybe because we have strolled around the area for many times already and the area around the hotel did not really hit us like when we were going around Thonglor or Ekkamai, since there are much more selections of restaurants, bars, clubs, etc. All in all, would still stay again if we travel to Bangkok :)
We were staying in Bangkok and the niece and sister of my companion offered us the reservation. We accepted not really knowing what to expect since neither one of my companion's relatives had tried this experience. We went early to be there when the doors opened because there is an additional discount associated with the 6 PM seating. What a treat this was. The restaurant was decorated in a crab motif and self-service stations where set up the entire length of the open kitchen with chefs and food prepares busily assembling masterpieces for later consumption. There was sushi and sushi rolls, crab prepared in every conceivable way; on the half shell, chopped, crab legs, sauteed, cold (can be heated on request), shrimp, prawns, mussels and a variety of prepared Thai favorites, including soups. There was fresh fruit, cakes and puddings that would sate every appetite in the room. And because there was such a variety and so many stations, there was never a wait or a line to consider. The only problem with this experience is that there came a time when one could not eat another morsel. Every creation was superb in taste and presentation. This was indeed a symphony of flavors for the entire evening; music and feast to the palate. We were fortunate to be in Bangkok on this particular Friday when this once per month event is held, but to be sure, when we return to Bangkok, I will check to see when when this event is being held next and plan my trip to coincide or overlap a future Cut the Crab night.
One of the better double trees. Very welcoming and helpful staff. Very cleansed nice amenities. Great breakfast and a lovely pool bar/ gym area on 7th floor. Close to train and shopping and a 30 min trip from the big weekend markets. Will use again.
Im a hilton gold member and we stayed here for 3 nights, upgrade was not available on the day we checked in, but we did get an upgrade on the last day which was really nice. This is close to BTS which is nice if theres traffic but if theres 3 of you, use uber or taxi more convenient and cost effective to go around Bangkok. The concierge at this hotel are so helpful, actually all their staff are so nice and helpful, I love their breakfast, there is an abundance of choices and its so good, my daughter loves their pastry and I love the variety of food. I recommended this to my sister and she loved it as well. There is a bank nearby which was convenient for the tours beyond the city, they like bath as means of payment and don't like US dollars even if its $20 , I had to borrow some bath from our private tour guide. Will definitely come back again to Bangkok and this hotel, looking forward to experience playing with the tiger cubs and elephant ride and bath again ....
Location wise is nice since it's rather close to BTS, just a few minutes walking. Also close to the most luxury shopping mall in Bangkok and if you're looking for a recreation spot to relax, Benchasiri Park is not that far from the hotel. Anyway, my overall experience is good, not great but good. The room was really comfy as expected from DoubleTree (well this is my 3rd DT after Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru). Check-in was fast, the only downside is the chocolate chip cookies that greeted us were cold, not warm as promised. Checking-out experience was beyond expectations. I was offered the service to bring my bags down to the lobby, without me asking for it and Pat, the bellboy was really helpful. Oh ya, the pool area is really cool. Nice place to chill. To sum up, the hotel is a good choice for someone who wants to wind down after a long day of shopping and sightseeing :)

I made a booking for three at the Deelite restaurant through Eatigo. My booking was confirmed by Eatigo. But when I showed up with my out of town guests, the restaurant said They could not find my booking. I had to beg them to accommodate my guests since I did not want my guests to run around. We were given a bar table where we sat on stools. As they could not find my booking, they said I had to pay full price. When I called them afterwards to find out what happened, their male manager admitted they found my booking under my first name instead of my last name (though I told them my full name). He said he would refund me the discount I was entitled to and conform with me after the refund is made. They never refunded me nor called me back. When Eatigo followed up the case with the rest auras the for me, they fabricated that I arrived over 30 min after the booking time and the booking was cancelled. I cannot believe an international hotel chain could come up with such a dirty trick to cover their mistake. For me it was a big embarrassment to my guests. The money in question is insignificant. It what the hotel restaurant did was totally despicable.
My husband and I are adventurous travelers. We can afford nice hotels (especially in Thailand) but often chose to stay in rented rooms or hostels for a more comprehensive travel experience. On this trip to Thailand, we booked nearly all of our accommodations the day of. We stayed in nine different rooms the nine nights we were there. This property was one of the best we selected for various reasons. The location was great--close to many restaurants, shopping, and transportation. The room was absolutely lovely, the service was excellent, and the breakfast buffet surpassed our expectations. Be sure to order breakfast when you book the room for a better rate. Keep in mind--this glowing review is coming from someone who avoids large hotel chains and hotel dining when traveling. We really enjoyed our stay here and would stay here again.
It is not bad but either not very good, so the average rate is fair enough. It is located not very close the BTS station and even though 10 minutes walking distance, in bkk is far enough to get swept. On the other side the room is nice and clean and the breakfast is satisfactory.
Superb staff and the most delicious breakfast in Bangkok. After checking out of a HORRIBLE hotel nearby, our Hilton Honors brought us a good rate at the Doubletree. Wonderful room, great view of the city from the 22nd floor. Pool was our kids favorite. Hotel is in a super location near many attractions and things to do with our children.
