I cannot understand some whiners bad reviews! You get what you pay for. I have been coming to Thailand for many years. I have stayed in 3, 4, and 5 star hotels. All up to standard for their ratings. Maybe some of these moaners have "beer money and champagne taste." You get what you pay for guys. For the price, location, (if doing business or appointments) shopping then the pool, breakfast and price are not to be whinged about. My biggest problem is no umbrellas at the rooftop pool. Staff are helpful and courteous. Have stayed here as close to appointments. Good food and seafood at local road cafe at end of Sukhimvit 20. Can recommend the food.
Place needs a good overhaul, the hotel shouldn't get this high rating. The rooms was not good cleaned there were still used towels in the room. The furniture were dirty and in terrible shape. Unfriendly staff at the reception. No manager available adress your queries or complaints to. I had BED BUGS in my room only by checking the mails while lying on the bed. I showered immediately and got only cold water. After I ran down to the reception to explain the situation. The reception were not helpful and very unfriendly, there was no manager available adress your queries or complaints to. I paid for a room with Bed bugs and haven't even used the room for the night. Worst hotel I had ever been.
I have stayed at this hotel a few times while in Bangkok. Nice location, close to the main road and the BTS and MRT, but at the same time it is still pretty quiet. The hotel is a little bit dated but it is quite comfortable. Staff is nice and friendly. Last time I stayed in a Premier room it is definitely better than a standard room as it offers more space and a bigger bathroom. Breakfast was quite average but lots of places near by to grab something to eat. Good value for money for a short stay in BKK.
I stayed for 2 nights to meet up with some friends. The check in was painless. The large room had everything I would expect of a tourist class hotel: comfortable bed, efficient air-con, decent bathroom - although the water wasn't really hot enough. Breakfast wasn't included. I bought a coffee which was the worst I have ever tasted! The location is not great, being on a side soi between soi 20 and soi 22. They have a free tuk-tuk but it only operates during the day. There are some decent restaurants and bars and a 7/11 close by. Sleep quality was good though with no noise issues. The price was right so I'd certainly consider staying there again.
This hotel really sucks, i don't know what possessed them to put my gf and I in the old part of the hotel, but because they did here is my review. At first when we arrived i was very disappointed the hotel was down a smelly soi very small one that if cars go by you have to move to the side of the road or you will get hit. The sewers around the hotel smelled like dead ducks. Alot of massage places in the area, yeah it's one of those, and it seemed it was more equipped for sex tourists then for nice couples trying to enjoy a night on the town. When we got into the room we started realizing things that didn't add up . The air conditioner looks like something out of a Russ Myers film from the 80's and has never been cleaned, We ended up breathing smoke from years of accumulation and it literally made us sick. We both got headaches after one hour in that room. We just wanted to leave but felt we would tough it out because it was only for one night. The bed was hard as a rock. I slept on beds in China that were softer. It was such a nightmare that i actually had one. it took my gf and I two hours to fall asleep because we were tossing and turning, We couldn't get a decent night sleep. I woke up with bruised ribs and i was polite with the staff and just wanted to get out of there. it felt like we escaped. Make no mistake this place really sucks. The pictures i guess are intended to make you think you're coming to luxury when in fact, the hotel is a hostel type accommodation. I felt like we got ripped off and i will absolutely never ever come to a place like this again. I was embarrassed that i took my gf here and brought her to a real luxury hotel the next day. To whoever runs this place i would like you and your family to stay in the same room and breath the same air we did, and learn a few things about business because it's obvious that hospitality is not for you. Clean those air cons and get better beds. Actually better you tear down this place and start in a new location because it sucks in every which way and form.
For our first visit in Bangkok, we have selected D Varee Diva Bally Sukhumvit hotel to spend 4 nights. The hotel in location is really good (10 min to walk from train station(BTS/Subway) or free Tuc-Tuc to the closest train station). The staff was really friendly and supportive. Breakfast was great. In case outside is too hot and you are not in the mood to go out, I recommend you to try the swimming pool.
The location of this hotel is a bit of a walk to the train stations, it is not terribly far but when it is super hot out, it is not a fun walk. I believe it was about a 15 minute walk. Not only that but the amount of cars and motorbikes that pass by as you walk makes it less pleasant as there isn't much of a sidewalk. It can get stressful. The good thing is that there is complimentary Tuk Tuk service from the hotel to the main road where the Asok MRT/Skytrains/buses are. But that only runs certain times of the day. The lobby is spacious, bright and welcoming. The staff at the front was friendly and helpful. However, the room we had was decent in size, pretty big but needed way more lighting. Even with all the lights on, it was too dark to use the mirror next to the TV. Could barely see well. There was a large window but we mostly had the curtains down at night and during the day, we opened it but still did not brighten the whole room enough. The bathroom was ok but needs an upgrade. Everything looked a bit worn out from the 1990's or something. However, the shower water pressure was good. The hotel rooms need a makeover.
Based in Sukhumvit 20 this hotel is very nice with polite and careful service and staff. Close to many restaurants, supermarkets and relaxing centers, rooms are big and comfortable. Bathroom spacious and even if in a crowded area rooms are silent and it is possible to enjoy the lodging
Overall very good hotel, nice staff, clean rooms, great pool on the roof, handy little gym we used a few times, decent breakfast, fridge, microwave, kettle and spacious rooms Only thing i would mention the hotel could improve on is probably renovate as the decor is outdated and grubby. But overall great hotel and would stay again
Dvaree diva know to like Bally sukomvit. It's nice and good place . The hotel is in a quiet area but in an excellent location in the city center. Terminal 21, Sky Train Station Asok. The subway station, the Villa Market supermarket, the Food Land supermarket ( open 24/7) and the Emporium mall. All in walk of less than five minutes. At the hotel the rooms are spacious and cozy. The staff is ready for any help. Breakfast is basic but sufficient. The Price per night is the best value for money. We was 4 persons (2+2 ) in 2 rooms. We will come back .
