Very warm staff. Rooms are very modern and have a very modern bathroom and bathroom amenities. Coffee shop coffee ordinary but Conrad deli is recommended Hotel lobby is good for meetings as is the lobby, diplomat bar. Good music in evenings at diplomat bar
We stayed for a week and liked it. We were lucky enough to have access to the executive lounge which was great for breakfast and afternoon tea. It got quite busy at times but we always got a table. The gym was good and the pool area was great with a bar/restaurant. Outside of the peak traffic (which is as bad as any major city) it's about 30 minutes from the airport. Double that at peak traffic times! We are in the Chinese restaurant which was good but not great. Most of the food was very good but one of the dishes was a little bland. The bar off the reception has a good selection of light bites and cocktails. The hotel has direct access to a small shopping mall but you need to go further afield for retail therapy. The hotel arranged a private tour of some of the main sights with a great guide that made the trip really interesting.
I stayed here with friends and have to say this has to be one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. From check in to check out everyone was professional and very friendly. This was the first Conrad I had the pleasure of using the Executive Lounge. They spoiled me for any other. All the staff in the lounge were friendly and helpful and were always willing to please. I want to say thank you to them for such a great experience. The hotel was very pretty and the room was open, clean and luxurious. I loved the king bed and the soft duvet and bedding. The room was spotless and always made up impeccably. The bathroom was bright and spacious and the shower was incredible. A great way to relax after exploring the city. Breakfast in the dining room each morning was quite an experience. Fresh omelettes, ready made eggs, meats, fresh fruits, danish and pastries, pancakes, cheeses, cereal, noodles, Asian breakfast choices, almost anything you could imagine. Very much worth enjoying to start out the day. They have a beautiful pool area too. I was here during Songkram and they had a very fun and interesting Songkram celebration here for the guests. It was interesting and fun to watch and participate in the celebration. I would definitely recommend this hotel if staying in Bangkok.
On our way home form Khao Lak after 2 Luxury Escape packages we did another on whilst in Bangkok. Beautiful hotel great service. In our package we had access to the executive lounge for afternoon tea as well as cocktails and canapés. All of this was great but they were understaffed and not enough seats or tables to accomodate all the people. Bit disappointing really. We did not eat in the main restaurant as we were out and about during our time here. Nor did we use the pool at all although it looked great. Our spa experience was excellent....hubby actually dozed off he wa so relaxed. We had to leave early morning on departure and the hotel had a breakfast package ready for us at reception.
Everything about this hotel was great. It was the best of the three hotels we stayed in Thailand and paid about the same for a better more comfortable stay. The only difficulty was getting in and out because one way traffic around this location was horrible so transportation of any sort took a lot of time. Hotel did provide a shuttle service to BTS.
Excellent property with very polite and curious staff. Nice and big rooms with all the facilities. Full value for money. I am a Gold member and I enjoyed all the benefits. I just felt that the interior is dark and effecting the light.
Once you step into the hotel, it is apparent that all the staff takes pride in their work to provide unparalleled service to guests. I am surprised to see some bad reviews on their service standards because everyone we encountered were fantastic. Porters: The porters are always cheerful and eager to assist. Its nice to see them so cheery while waiting for taxis each day. Lifts up our mood as well. They are also very helpful when we ask for directions to some nearby spots we noted from google map. Housekeeping: Exceptional. I am sensitive to dust and I am sure they did a complete clean up of the room each day. If you see them along the corridor, they never fail greet guests warmly. Its not the same as other hotels where you get a quick hello and they turn their heads away. Executive lounge: Is perfect most of the time except during breakfast. Perhaps it's the cooking station, my hair and clothes tend to smell a little after breakfast. Staff at the lounge are very helpful as most reviews mentioned. Location: Our initial plan was to use taxis to get around Bangkok. However, we learnt that the traffic had gotten worse over the years. Took us 40 mins to get to Siam paragon which is less than 2km away! Subsequent, we had to rely on the shuttle to BTS to get around. Accessibility: The walk to the BTS is around 700m (we checked) but the roads are uneven so it makes walking a little tougher. If you are waiting for the shuttle to get back to Conrad, it can be hot as the sheltered bus stop can get rather packed and you might had to stand under the sun. We chose to take a taxi back most of the time - only THB40. Gym: Love the gym. Huge and full equipment. Cold towels and water provided. I am going back to Bangkok in Nov and contemplating Conrad. It's a great hotel if you do not need to be near BTS. Taxis are not always reliable due to traffic. A number of drivers refuse to take us back to Conrad.
The first thing to say, is that I booked this hotel for my 5 night stay on HH Honors points, so it didn't cost me a penny! This might colour my view of the hotel - it's hard to knock a freebie - but having stayed in many hotels in many destinations around the world, I have to say that it's hard to fault this one. The rooms are spacious, clean, well equipped, and quiet (at least on my floor it was quiet). The bed was very comfortable (which is really what I look for). Everything was clean, tidy and comfortable. I used the in hotel laundry service which was a great service to have. The staff were unfailing helpful and polite. My one gripe was the quality of the WiFi in my room - it was woeful! - almost impossible to make FaceTime and Skype calls. The hotel is in a very modern high rise development (typical of those just off SukhumvitRoad). It's not a bad location - 5 minutes walk to the nearest Skytrain Station (which brings most of Bangkok within easy to reach) and there is a modern shopping mall on your doorstep and a few restaurants within a few minutes walk . There is a free bus service available, but I confess I have no idea where it goes to (and I wasn't given that information on check-in, which in hindsight is a bit remiss of the hotel staff at check-in). So, a good quality hotel, in an OK location, and certainly worth considering if you want to be close to Sukhumvit and BTS Skytrain.
Stayed there as Gold member and booked directly, we received a nice, warm welcome. Friendly, efficient and smily. we received an upgrade and executive lounge access. Impressive service there, though it was crowded at cocktail time. Service was second to non, attentive and friendly. We used the Chinese restaurant as well. Good experience. Diplomat Bar was a highlight, having live music performance. Rooms are spacious, clean and well furnished.
Location is excellence with small shopping mall next to it...love the service and helpful staff. Great gym and pool....have trainer there all day!! The shuttle bus to BTS make it even more convenience to get around...but if you decided to walk...its only 10min
