The Gate is actually a restaurant down stairs with a couple of foods upstairs for guests (especially tourists like me). I booked through booking.com (I would recommend booking straight though the hotel). For 6 people and 3 rooms it was £106 - including breakfast, with views of the temples and and literally 5-10 minute walk away from the main sites. My mum is disabled and being so close made the whole trip much more bearable. The staff where lovely and the room was SPOTLESS. Shampoo, conditioner, towels, everything you could need was available, even a kettle in your room. We only stayed for one night but felt so welcomed. I fully believe any money this place makes is well deserved and booking.com operate a non-refundable cancellation policy (of which the hotel recives non of). In the morning, they where able to put together a vegan/vegetarian breakfast for myself and my sister at short notice. They are also the only place I had really noticed offering a vegetarian Thai menu. The hotel is surprisingly quite too despite being in the very center of the city and its sights. I would love to stay here again, thank you so much Chetuphon Gate!

It's very recommend if you have travelling with your friends because this area it's not far from grand palace, wat pho, wat arun, the servis it's good the bedroom very big & refrigerator facilities, the place very clean, don't worry if you hungry in the first floor they're have cafe you can breakfast & lunch in there,, If you come late around 7 pm the receptionist not in there so you must contact them,, How many you stay they're always cleaning the room everyday when you not around so i like so much in there,, Happy holiday 😍😍😍

A comfortable room with AC, shower, WiFi and refrigerator. No frills. Great location to take cool down breaks between visiting Wat Po, grand palace and Wat Arun. We had views from our room of both Wat Po and Wat Arun. The hotel restaurant is average but great restaurants nearby. Overall a great experience at a great price.

The hotel is located right across from Wat Pho and a short walk to the Grand Palace and a quick ferry ride to Wat Arun, the location couldn’t be more convenient! For those who don’t mind the walk and are good with directions, Khao San Road is less than a 30-min walk and totally worth it at night!

Very nice hôtel, calm, modern, clean. Hosts are friendly they had keep our backpack after checkout, street food is good and cheap, pretty close to temple and grand palace. It si 300m to wat poh, and beds are sooo nice !

The location of the hotel was good with temples and the ferry stop very close by the room was a little small but just what you would need for a short stay, it wasn't the cleanest clothes we found a number of insects

Khun P’Tae was a nice manager who gave me a small discount for a longer stay. 5 nights for B 1100. I was studying Thai massage next door. Rooms are small but nice. Only Problem —- no safety money box Within walking to nice restaurants and the river and temple.

I recently stayed here for four nights as I wanted to be close to Wat Arun. I have been to Bangkok many times, but now that the famous temple is free of scaffolding I wanted to take really good sunrise and sunset photos of it. Anyway, this is what I would call a boutique hotel, very charming in its own way. Love the location, and the price, 1200 THB, is not too bad. Couple of negative points that I feel I need to point out; it can be extremely noisy during the day as there is a cafe on the ground floor. Like other reviewers have mentioned, the walls are paper thin and you can see through the cracks in the traditional wooden floors. However, at night the place is very quite. The hotel caters to foreigners, yet there are no English language channels on the television. After five weeks in India I would have liked to watched the news. Also, there is not a full time receptionist on duty and check in was very slow.

Chetuphon Gate is right next to Wat Pho and Wat Arun (a ferry ride away) so the location is really great. The room is clean however tiny compared to regular hotel rooms. Bathroom is also too tiny for my liking. The hotel is a bit old and it shows it's age in the bathroom tiles. The walls are so thin that during my first night of stay, I barely had any sleep because guests that arrived that night kept slamming the doors, which can be heard from everywhere. If you want to get the room with the view, book their premium loft room. Otherwise, your view will be the neighbour's roof. No lift access so if you are travelling with heavy luggage, be prepared to carry that all the way up. TV offers only local channels so if you are travelling with kids you may need to bring you personal Netflix to keep them entertained. They offer free wifi however I never used it as I have unlimited data that comes with my SIM card. No breakfast included however they have a cafe downstairs, although a bit expensive. If you want to save a few bahts there is a cafe down the street called Ba Tha Thien that opens at 7am offering better prices. I have a review on this cafe too. Please also note that reception is open until 7pm only, so make sure you let them know if you will arrive late in the night.

Chetuphon Gare is at a great location if you like exploring sites along the river and Wat Pho as it's right next to it. It's also just a few minute walk from the Grand Palace and the Emerald Buddha. Hotel is small but safe and cozy
