Very nice place, beautiful salons, friendly staff. Only 10-15 minutes walk from the BTS (Bangkok Sky Train), but still very quiet as it is located in a small dead end street, away from traffic. -------
Fantastic stay at Cabochon! The hotel has so much character and feels like a breath of fresh air compared to other Bangkok mega hotels. It is quiet but still easily accessible. The staff were wonderful. Great breakfast every morning. Absolutely loved this hotel!
I loved everything about this hotel. The style is incredible - every room feels like you're walking into an adventure. Everything is spotless - so clean, even though so many of the objects and fixtures are vintage. The food was amazing - I ate three meals there and loved each one. The staff assisted me with public transportation which was spot on. I wish I could have stayed longer. I loved it!
Thanks to a recommendation from friends in Bangkok, we stayed at the Cabochon for 2 nights. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to avoid big hotels with corporate atmosphere. Cabochon is very quiet and peaceful. The location is very convenient, and we loved the unique atmosphere. Breakfast was really good. The pool is slightly old but would do the job for a few nights. The team is really dedicated to a great service. Thanks Cabochon
This place is very nice and we liked it. But it fits best for couples I think. We had our small son with us and I an say that maybe small kids is not the best to take to this hotell because they have so many nice things that a small kid like to take :-) The pool is nice with sun the whole day too What I think is that the shower is not so good
Reminiscent of French colonial style, this hip little hotel delivers big time. Rooms are airy, beautiful and well appointed. The roof-top pool, long enough for laps, affords spectacular vistas of this booming city. Most of Bangkok's happening restaurants are nearby. (We tried Paste, Bo Lan, and Gaggan--all of them sensational). Rates include a delicious breakfast. The nearby skytrain eases travel around the city. Take a business card from the hotel desk just in case you need to take a cab back. The Cabochon is tiny and not necessarily well known.
This was my second stay. The staff remembered me and welcomed me again. I felt like I come back to my home. Sophisticated interior, food, flowers, aroma, and especially friendly staff. Everything I love with this hotel was still there. I travel a lot in the world and this is my best hotel.
Lovely decor, lovely building, excellent staff, convenient quiet location, great breakfasts. Don't use Mr Noi Monyoopanow as your limousine driver. He chain talked to a variety of women using several phones for the whole trip to Hua Hin, often driving fast one handed. Front office and all staff were extremely helpful, and fantastic. Great breakfast. In retrospect we should have had dinner here, rather than a very underwhelming expensive meal at Nahm (which I wouldn't recommend - see separate review). Would suggest that each room have it's own iron and ironing board, although this was quickly provided. We also asked that our room be sprayed against mosquitoes after we left in the evening, although we had no problem with mosquitoes, just noticed loosely fitting balcony doors. Pool area was nothing special, but adequate, and we certainly enjoyed a quick dip in the pool at the end a day out, before getting ready for dinner. Would highly recommend, and we hope to stay again when next in BKK.
This hotel was the perfect way to end our trip in Thailand. The hotel was even better than described/pictured. It is in a great area, close to the sky train but secluded and peaceful. Definitely a beautiful boutique hotel with amazing service. I only wish we had stayed longer to take advantage of the pool and the restaurant, but the bar and breakfast were wonderful! Our room was picturesque (in addition to the rest of the hotel). We will definitely be back and would recommend the Cabochon to anyone!
We stayed two nights at the Cabochon and I could have happily holed up there for weeks. The staff were so brilliant, our room was gorgeous, the location just of Sukhumvit was perfect for exploring Bangkok but far enough away from the main road to provide some peace and quiet while we were back at base. The rooftop pool was amazing and exactly what we needed after the heat of the city. But the real praise has to go to the kitchen - this was easily the best food we ate in Thailand. We loved the relaxed atmosphere of the Cabochon. Despite it's luxurious and ornate colonial vintage style, it didn't feel stuffy or 'too nice to touch.' Everyone was super lovely and very chilled out and there was nothing more blissful than having a happy hour cocktail on the front porch after spending the day exploring the city via the nearby Sky Train. Thank you for a wonderful stay to everyone at The Cabochon. Frankly, I can't wait to get back there.
