Amazing colonial retreat in amongst the hustle bustle and craziness of Bangkok. Super old fashioned charm and service set in a beatifully decorated hotel in the heart of the city. The staff of both the hotel, spa and restaurant are superbly attentive. The food was easily the best we had in Thailand. Tom Yum Hed delicious hot spicy mushroom soup combined with fresh water shrimp pad tai was easily the tastiest dish. Spring rolls packed with zing and zest and homemade garnishes and sauces really set the tone here. Magnificent cocktails also are a feature with a thai slant on World cocktail themes. Dont bother walking down by the river as its a sqaulid mess of litter, litter, litter and a shanty town. Do venture out on foot though and take in the sounds and smells of the city but make sure you come back home to eat as the chef is amazing. The spa is also fantastic offering a range of massage treatments- be warned If you say “firm” expect a beasting!!

We have just arrived back from our holiday in Thailand, which started with a 3 night stay in Bangkok. The hotel was fabulous, reminiscent of an old colonial building with high ceilings and ceiling fans, set in a beautiful gardens. The bedroom was massive, the bathroom had a rainforest shower and bath and everyday fresh coffee and milk was left in the room. Although we arrived early morning from our flight, the room was made quickly available after a coffee and hour by the pool. Breakfast was taken in the shade outside with the owner often sitting with guests, newspapers were at the room every morning, and the hospitality was outstanding on reception and all the hotel team. We visited central Bangkok during the day and easy train ride, saw all the main tourist attractions along with a guided bike trip more off the beaten track, and then sat by the pool early evening, before heading down Sukhumvit where we tried the local food and also went to a roof top bar at Above Eleven. A perfect way to start our holiday and first time in Thailand. Thank You

Lovely and very refreshing to find oneself back in the 1940s. Room huge and ultra quiet. We ate in every night as, after our flight from Frankfurt, we really didn't feel like scouting the town in the dark and the mosquitoes. Food pretty good but like so much Thai food, could easily be so much better with a bit more attention. Stir-frys tend to all end up mightily stirred and little fried and then the whole kit and caboodle ends up on on your plate as though delivered by a tip-up truck. Breakfast excellent and staff adorable. The owner is very friendly and an excellent source of information on just about everything Thai.

My wife and I had the great pleasure of spending several days at this wonderful villa in the heart of Bangkok during January of 2018. We had a beautiful suite with a pool view on the second floor, featuring a king-sized bed, spacious bathroom with tub and shower, and a sitting room. The hotel sits at the end of a road, alongside a canal, and feels isolated and peaceful, enshrouded by palms and large trees. Yet only 4 blocks away is the Phloen Chit Skytrain station, and the Central Embassy shopping mall, which contains Eathai, a lower-level food court with a vast array of elevated street food. The Ariyasom property is truly a sanctuary, nearly overrun with lush vegetation, an inviting pool area, and an on-premise spa with Thai massage. The whole effect is one of tranquility and serenity. The on-premise breakfast is not to be missed, featuring both European and Thai options. Venture away from your Western habits, and have the fish soup with Thai aromatics and an egg. It was my favorite breakfast of our 2-week excursion through Thailand. You might be visited at breakfast by David, the British expat proprietor, who will offer thoughts on what to do in Bangkok: relax and have a drink by the Chao Phraya and watch the boats go by! The staff at the villa were ever courteous and helpful as well, and made us feel welcomed and at home during our first few days in Thailand. Ariyasom features a magnificent Thai pescatarian restaurant called Na Aroon, which we also highly recommend. They serve elevated versions of Thai classic dishes, and it was some of the best Thai food we had anywhere in the country. If you, like us, have no taste for large, corporate hotels, and prefer a boutique, intimate, and more personal experience, we highly recommend Ariyasomvilla.

First time in Bangkok and just checked in last night. what a remarkable property- definitely geared towards the posh boutique traveler and does not disappoint. Pool is amazing, service unparalleled, bed uber comfortable and bathroom is divine. Also worth mentioning is the delicious food!! Will return again and again.

We stayed for three nights at the Ariyasomvilla for a bit of luxury at the end of several weeks' travelling around Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. Check-in was efficient and we were delighted to receive an upgrade from a deluxe double to an executive deluxe. The room was enormous and came with its own lounge. If I were going to be really picky I'd say one of the lampshades was stained and the armchair in the lounge was showing signs of wear, also that the room was quite noisy as it overlooked the canal so you could hear the passenger boats. That said, it was a lovely room and the boats don't run after about 8pm anyway. What was more disappointing was that the wifi was initially quite unreliable, though that seemed to improve after our first day. Breakfast was very good (there was a really wide range of items on offer) and it came with some of the best coffee we had anywhere on our trip. The staff at reception were great though there was one occasion in the restaurant when they were a little unaware that we were trying to get their attention. That may have been largely due to the position of one of the tables outside near the pool. David, the owner, was very friendly and great to chat to. He went out of his way to make guests feel very welcome and we really appreciated that. We also particularly appreciated the studio room we were given free-of-charge on the last day when we wanted a late check-out as our flight was not until after midnight.

On first arriving the street that the hotel is on seems a bit scruffy and the hotel may seem rustic if you are used to the gleaming multi national chain hotels. But that is the point. In the middle of a very busy city it truly is an oasis of beautiful gardens, individual styling and a truly special host - after his morning swim the owner David cooked some banana muffins and personally handed them round - hot. At the end of busy days with tour guides it was a totally relaxing experience. The “street” also has some great street food so enjoy the whole experience and stay here

Ariyasomvilla was our first stop in Bangkok. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous and greeted us warmly. The food was exemplary, especially for being all vegetarian. They have a salt water pool surrounded by a beautiful mini-jungle filled with zebra doves which sound beautiful. I would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Bangkok!

I can highly recommend room 206 and a stay at this beautiful sanctuary. I stayed whilst visiting Bangkok for a wedding, unfortunately my husband couldn't come so I was a bit anxious traveling solo. In a hectic and anonymous city like Bangkok a hotel like this is precious. In 48 hours I managed a lot of sightseeing via public transport, a wedding and two great night's sleep thus I would argue the location is VERY convenient. The other negative comments are on the micro side of things. The food is amazing and the massage authentic.

So, this quirky little hotel is set at the end of a week (hard for taxi’s to find) very near the medical center. You arrive to lush plants and a welcoming staff. I am confident at its hay day this was a great hotel. But now it needs some updating. Rooms are large, furniture very worn and thread bare in the arms, internet spotty, we kept getting kicked off. Regret to say, our toilet needed repair (which the staff promptly took care of), the toilet leaked at the base as did the bath tub handles. Our room was on the canal side, starting at approx 6:30am long boats loudly ran up and down the canal. Thankfully, we left most mornings early to tour- boats did stop after dark. Restaurant in hotel nice, vegetarian with a little seafood. They will pack you a breakfast “to go” for those early morning departures. I found I liked some of the little quirks but truly it just did not match up to our other hotels on our trip. And I don’t think the location is great for tourist, but it sure would be if you have a patient at the medical center. Sorry to say I would not return at this time- time to try another location.
