was very good and room was well equipped like a 5 star hotel in the US. downside is rooms are smaller. cheap and economical right near bangkok asok. breakfast buffet was wide spread and staff were very courteous.
First off, I hate giving bad reviews. I expect some basic things at hotels and that's it. But I knew I had to expose this hotel to be the fraud they are. First off you get what you pay for. When I booked this hotel, the price was almost too good to be true. And it was. A rookie mistake but I was in a rush and flying out for a work trip so a last minute booking at a super low price was a godsend. When i checked in, the pictures were obviously from years ago. The hotel is dingy, old and very basic. Still I hoped for a basic hotel room with minimum comforts. It was a hope that died quickly. The reception didn't seem excited I was checking in. They hardly said a word as I checked in. I had to ask for an extra key card cos usually i keep one in the room to which they rudely asked why do you need two when only one person was staying? Cos it's normal practice. They begrudgingly gave me one. I had to ask for the wifi twice - in the end it wasn't a problem cos the WIFI is terribly slow. My computer and phone couldn't detect it and kept disconnecting. Now I was booked of 5 days and 4 nights. I was thinking fine, let me get to my room and settle in. The room was small for Bangkok. You can get much bigger rooms for a similar price. The decor was old and the carpet looked like it had never been washed. There was musky smell and I knew immediately this was not going to work. But i was here for a work trip and wanted to persevere. I turned on the AC which was monstrously loud even at the lowest setting. The Bathroom is old and had a dinky tub with a shower curtain that was stained with mold. Gross. I showered quickly under lukewarm water and low water pressure and got on my bed ready to rest. The AC just didn't get cold enough and was super noisy. The toilet was dirty and the room just felt like it was infested with bed bugs and mites. After tossing and turning for a couple hours, i decided enough was enough and went downstairs to ask for a room change to see if that would help. Now i knew the hotel was quite empty or at least had a few rooms available. The reception basically said there were no other rooms available and I couldn't move till the next day. I said I was going to check out to which instead of trying to help the situation, they just said no problem but you won't be refunded anything. We won't pay you back. Garbage service. I went upstairs and booked the S31 Hotel which was pretty much right across from this crap hole. I left the next day first thing in the morning and told them this was the worst service and worst hotel in Bangkok that I've ever stayed in. Let's be clear - this is an hourly hotel masquerading as something more. It's filled with rude people and the rooms are gross dirty and smelly. DO NOT STAY HERE. No one even bothered to call, email or apologize to me. Worst experience in a hotel in more than 15 years. Not worth the price, hassle or area. DO NOT PAY FOR THIS HOTEL.
Nothing worked in the room, everything old and worn out.Only the location is great but way too expensive ( 1500 baht) for what you get. There are much better hotels in the hood for less money. ,,,,,,,,
Sad to say my favourite place to stay in Bangkok has declined rapidly. I have stayed many times at this hotel while getting dental work in Bangkok. This hotel was fabulous when new. It's now in need of maintenance, not only was the shower broken but no hot water, also the wifi didn't work. It's such a shame but I have moved hotels and will not stay there again. Charging allot of money for what you get at Amora. Staff were not as nice and friendly as I remembered.
Amora is your basic budget accommodation in Bangkok , room is big enough but balcony is not accessible and everything dated, worn and seating stained with cigarette burns. There are tea/coffee etc in your rooms and a safe to stop the many thefts in earlier posts. The air con is unbelievably noisy and everything in the bathroom mouldy and or rusted. On leaving early to catch a flight to Cambodia the receptionist said he would get the cleaner to check the room literally ten seconds later he said there was a dirty towel and was fining us after laughing at this he said it was now two towels. When I asked him to explain himself and why would we pay he said it was now two towels and two pillowcases. In the end I payed up the 500 baht as had my plane to catch and to be honest was too tired to argue anymore.I did get a receipt which I will be acting on to try and stop this pathetic scam.Reading thru some reviews i have now seen they have tried this several times so seems now they have safes they want your money another way. Bad Karma just avoid as plenty of mould free / scam free hotels in Bangkok.
Nice hotel. Close to metro (5 mins from one direction and less than 10 mins from other side). Not as close to the metro, but wasn't too far either. Beware, on google maps 2 locations show up. Make sure you select the one across from the dinosaurs park. We didn't end up taking the metro often as was much cheaper for 4 of us to take a Grab wherever we went. Room was clean and got 2 free bottles of water daily. Didn't try breakfast, but there's a nice few food stands around the corner (omelette egg with rice for less than $2 cdn). Only complaint is room is a bit damp. Not sure if that's the air conditioning. Also very loud as it doesn't cycle on and off. Besides that everything else was fine. Front staff was great as well!
Nice to stay, good for business day, staff were friendly especially in the night Mr.Siam, he assisted me to find a car for trips. A little far from temple but that was fine with me as well. Breakfast has good selection both hot and cold. Room was cleaned and nice housekeepers. I will definitely stay here again!!
I had booked a non-smoking room in this hotel. When arrived they gave me a smokers room. It is horrible and unacceptable. When inquired I was told that because I was late they gave the room to someone else. But why is that when the money has been months in advance, the room should be kept for the person no matter what. This is the last time I stayed here.
Good location, clean rooms and friendly staff. The only criticism I have is that the rooms are on the small side. Plenty of restaurants and taxis in the area. It's a little far away from the temples but that was fine with me.
I found the staff friendly and rooms comfortable. the food is abundant , and taste wonderful. if I come back to Bangkok I would stay here again. It's located close to all shops, and u must travel on a tuk tuk. just watch yr step as the traffic is hectic. the people r friendly and helpful.
