Loved our stay at AdLib Bangkok , great service and great decor and great value! I love the location and the fact that they provide a tuk tuk ride to the nearest BTS station is amazing! Breakfast was great as well, we would definitely go back .
I do not like staying in chain hotels where everything is always the same. This hotel is modern but has atmosphere. They have conserved a large weeping tree over the entrance which makes it feel very special and not really in the middle of the city. There is a huge amount of greenery around the hotel almost the walls are planted - so no lawns but green walls all around. This gives the whole place a refreshing feel. The design is very modern and built with top class materials. Réception staff were excellent and really gave me all the service that I required. I cannot say that very often. The room was fully equipped if somewhat small but I do not go to Bangkok to stay in my room. Excellent breakfast. Nice small pool. Very comfortable bed. Also very quiet location which is unusual in Bangkok. The hotel has a Tuk Tuk which will take your to the Sky train or elsewhere in the neighborhood. Bravo. I would have 3 small criticisms : 1. Why have piped music everywhere (It was switched off when I asked) 2. A room to change in late afternoon if getting a late plane would be good. 3. Proper orange marmalade for breakfast
So it is located of a soi that I am familiar with and in terms of location its good, you can walk to the malls and you have the station 15 mins walk away. So lets get down to the hotel aesthetically it is nice looking, very modern although rooms are quite small. Nice small pool, had to call 3 times to get service at the bar by the pool. We also wanted a place to shower before we left and was told that we would need to use the public shower by the pool which is not hot and is not a cubicle which I find quite ridiculous for a supposed 5*. Had to call for our room to be cleaned more than once!! These things however small are not the trademarks of a 5* hotel. Talking to the staff is like talking to 5 year olds, smile and nod and repeat the same thing over (English was very bad) very surprising for a hotel in BKK. They are unhelpful and always gossiping around the till rather than opening the heavy sliding door for guests - disgraceful service! I had a much better experience at my 3* hotel on arrival in BKK down the road. Never again.
The Ad Lib was just right for our hospital visit. The staff do a wonderful job of welcoming you and catering to your every need. We will be back for sure. The food was very nice and the building has a unique design.
My husband and I stayed at Adlib for 2 nights and absolutely loved it. It is a bit hidden yet still in a very central location, very close to the SkyTrain. We did not spend too much time enjoying the hotel amnesties, since we had little time for all the sightseeing but what we got to enjoy, we loved it :-) Rooms are super roomy and clean. Pool 🏊 is great and very relaxing and the lobby is breathtaking; the atmosphere of the whole hotel is so relaxing and tasteful and you forget that you are in the middle of busy Bangkok. The only thing (which we got lucky with) is when it rains, the front of the hotel gets flooded and it is knee deep. As we were walking back from dinner to Adlib, we got confronted with these huge pools of water. Luckily, a very kind to tuk tuk driver who had just dropped off someone at the hotel, saw us, told us to hop in and backed-up all the way to the main entrance. This was very lucky and kind. I would definitely return to Adlib on my next visit to BKK. ✨✨
Stayed for three nights at Ad Lib. The room was well appointed if a little small and dark. The staff are very friendly. Service at the Pool Bar was disappointing. Nobody there to serve guests and even when there was somebody they were not attentive and seemed happier to stay behind the little desk. Getting a taxi was a problem so guests should leave plenty of time for their journeys from the hotel.
This was a repeat stay for our family and we loved it as much as the first time. We love everything from the entrance to the pool bar. Breakfast is fantastic and after breakfast you'll just want to hang out in the lobby all day. We arrived during happy hour this time and sunk into the plush sofas in the lobby and didn't move for a couple of hours. The staff are all attentive and professional. Can't wait to return!
I cannot express the relief it is to visit this hotel. Bangkok is a crazy busy city, and staying at Ad Lib is such an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The owner and managers have clearly put a great deal of thought into the landscaping and the setting. The breakfast is wonderful. The staff is also very friendly, although this is normal for Thai hospitality, it intensely genuine at Ad Lib. A genuine Gem.
Do not stay during wet/rainy season. There is no way to get in or out of the hotel unless you are prepared to wade through knee deep water. This happened to us 2 out of our 5 days. Also air conditioner in the gym was broken throughout our stay.
I think I've only stayed in one hotel in Bangkok over the last 15 years and that has always been the Sukhothai. Unfortunately this trip to Bangkok has been when my home away from home is being refurbished and so we have been forced to find another place for a quick weekend visit. Finding a good hotel in Bangkok is harder than you think, with many being either soulless or not worth the cost and so it was with a bit of worry that we went with the Luxe recommendation of Ad Lib. This hotel is literally squeezed behind a couple of Bangkok's destination hospitals off Soi 1 but is a quiet and beautifully designed little hotel. Great price for the standard with good food and amazing service. If the Sukhothai is unavailable at any time in the future, I will definitely stay here again.
