A Gem of a place
This is a great place to stay!!! We loved our time here. The view, the decor and outside deck were our favourite. We Stayed for 2 nights for the Rock Hound Gemboree and we really loved how close it was to the venue but still far away enough to give a great cottage feel. The lake was so warm and we loved the inflatable kayak! The cottage was exceptionally clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. One thing were didn’t realize was the layout of the rooms - one was located in the lower I guess basement area which could only be accessed outside the cottage and it was very cold and musty. No one used this bed as it was isolated and we were concerned about having to go to the washroom at night. This is not a cottage if you have mobility issues as there is a long walkway to the cottage from where you park and we did notice a loose rock step, also steep steps to get in the front door and although the bunkie is close it’s also a steep hill. The other main rooms and interiors were great as was the bunkie and we all reallly loved how soft all the bedding was!! Oh, please note that at the waste disposal they no longer accept recycling so we had to take that home with us, on a fun note there was a large black bear at the dump!! Overall, we all felt this was a great place to stay and really enjoyed our time. Would definitely recommend to others. We had a great time in a beautiful cottage.

Absolutely lovely, but some inaccuracies in listing
Overall, we had a wonderful stay at the property and would definitely consider returning in the winter season. However, we were very surprised to see that the primary bedroom shown in the photos no longer exists. It has been renovated to two bedrooms, and the barn door is no longer there. I was very disappointed. The fact that there were no pictures of the bathroom worried me. The bathroom is okay, especially for a cottage. But the toilet paper is placed on top of a garbage can, instead of mounted. Other finishes in the bathroom are lacking - screws are exposed and trim is damaged. The other inaccuracy is the privacy. It is essentially right on the highway. We could hear cars in the morning while we were sleeping. It wasn't a big deal in the winter, but it was enough that I wouldn't want to be there in summer. Finally, the kitchen is described as well stocked, but is missing some basic essentials that you should expect, like an ice cube tray, measures, and wine glasses. We had to go and buy wine glasses as the only option was very cracked plastic. Now for the good stuff. This cottage was the most immaculately clean property I have rented. I had ZERO concerns in any of the spaces. The common area with the couch and fireplace was spot on. Cozy, comfy and inviting. And the kitchen was a joy to cook in. We would definitely consider returning for a cozy winter retreat. All in all, we really enjoyed it!
Easy to find as it’s the first home just off the main road. That being said it can get a little noisy when the large trucks drive by. For the most part it didn’t bother us and you get used to it. Great lake for kayaking (not provided) we brought our own. The dock does have a ladder for easy access. We took our dog to the other end of the lake where it is shallow and has a sandy bottom. This is a public entrance area. Our son did some fishing off the dock and caught a nice size bass which we cooked for dinner. Hamid the owner, was always quick to respond to our inquiries. Overall we had a lovely 8 night stay ! 😎

Quiet getaway
Even though our stay was just two nights the level of relaxation cannot be measured. The outdoor beauty was so calming matched only by the beautiful inside decor and presentation.
Everything you could ever want was available. This property was spotless and the host was readily and easily available. We will most definitely be returning only for longer. Thank you so much
