We stayed at the Radisson Blu Senator on our way from Munich to Copenhagen, and were delighted at the location and quality of the hotel. The location is not far from the railway station, and also on the edge of the old city, well situated for a leisurely stroll through the town. The room was clean and comfortable, with a nice view of the water. The staff was friendly and very helpful, providing maps for our walk and suggestions of places to see. In the morning, they cheerfully arranged for a taxi to take us back to the railway station in plenty of time to catch our train. I was disappointed that the hotel did not offer a complimentary breakfast, as is usual for many hotels in Germany, but it was only about a ten minute walk into town to find coffee and a pastry so we got along fine. This is a very nice, modern hotel with a gracious and professional staff.
Pluses: Location. Walking distance from the train station and the sights. Terrace. Very quiet and comfortable hotel terrace with loungers and a view over the old city. Perfect spot to chill with a drink (or without). Shower. Yes, as other reviewers noted, it makes a mess on the floor since it's not fully enclosed, but since it wasn't my mess to clean up, I didn't mind. Overall, the best hotel shower ever, particularly the simplicity of operation and control. Showercaps are a nice touch, too. Room size and the room in general. Generously sized, well-maintained, well-furnished. Mostly quiet - you can sometimes hear water noises, but these were rare and not disturbing. Huge plus (and pure architectural genius) - rooms are far from the elevators, so you're not bothered by elevator wooshes and dings during the morning breakfast exodus. Minuses: Huge minus for the pillows. I realise that some wear and tear is impossible to avoid in a hotel, but the old, saggy, lumpy pillows really deserve retirement and replacement (and if they are not old, then the supplier of these pillows deserves replacement and the hotel deserves a refund). It was like sleeping on a sack of potatoes which was hard, bumpy and paradoxically flat at the same time. I don't know if the reception keeps a secret stash of comfy pillows to be produced on demand for the pillow-snobs, but we didn't stay long so I didn't have a chance to ask. Some things in the room could use some cleaning, particularly the seat of an armchair and the blackout curtains. There's a certain moment when tolerable wear and tear becomes eew. For me, a sticky oily chair seat is that moment. Overall, would recommend. Would probably stay again, but only if the pillows in the other hotels are worse.
The new design of the renovated bath rooms is not satisfactory. No bath only shower, which is not closed in. When taking a shower it spashes the bath room floor. The space on the sides of the hand wash is too small. Questionable, if the hotel is good value for money any longer after the increases the last years!
I have over the years spent many nights at the Radisson Blu in Lübeck as I travel a lot between Germany and Sweden and it is a great place to stop overnight. I usually take a room with a view on the river Trave and if possible also the two spire church in the background. The breakfast in the morning is outstanding with a large variety of food to suit every taste. The rooms are comfortable. The parking garage is underneath the hotel. They have something unusual as a ice machine on the floor which is not particular German. If you stay a bit longer you will have time to explore the old Hansa Town and the delightful old buildings including the main entrance Gate, which is a must to see and you cannot miss it. If you come around X-mas time you can explore the delightful X-mas market. It is a must.
We stayed there for one night with other two friends. Although we arrived already at 12:00 h, the receptionist was so nice to give us the rooms. The rooms are nicely furbished. The bath room was functional and clean. The centre is within Walking distance. I think that the Price we paid was absolutely fair on what we got. Parking in the Garage costs 15,00 for 24 hours.
The Radisson Blue is conveniently located close to the city center of Luebeck, walking distance from the main attractions, just across the river. Convenient parking accessible directly by elevator. The hotel being a chain, it is not particularly charming. Rooms a adequate. Positives: very nice terrace over the river, great breakfast buffet. Negative: no fitness room which was a disappointment to me. Staff is efficient and friendly.
Just by the city centre. Quite small pool but aminities and rooms are nice. Nice rainshower in the bathtub. Breakfast is good with fresh juices. Pool tables and nice bar by the river. Good parking garage.
The hotel is good for quick turn around business hotel. Room is clean and all essential needed are in good order. Nothing stand out from the room or services. Infact the service should have been better if the staff pay more attention to the customer at check-in and check- out. Location is a bit outside the old town but convenience for me as I have car rental and need parking.
This is one of the prettiest hotels I have stayed in in a long time. The grandeur of the lobby is not lost on the weary traveller and the first impression is very favourable. The rooms are large and the bathrooms have good sanitary fittings. This is the first rainfall shower (in the tub) I've used that actually spews a wonderful shower of water. If you don't mind spending a little more, it's worth it.
We stayed in Radisson Blu Senator for one night. It's a very good business hotel. Radisson means quality. It does not have much charm, but you know what you get. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. Very clean. The location is great - just outside the old town (but quiet), on the bank of the channel. We had our breakfast on the terrace - very lovely. And WiFi is good :-)
