The hotel is good for quick turn around business hotel. Room is clean and all essential needed are in good order. Nothing stand out from the room or services. Infact the service should have been better if the staff pay more attention to the customer at check-in and check- out. Location is a bit outside the old town but convenience for me as I have car rental and need parking.
This is one of the prettiest hotels I have stayed in in a long time. The grandeur of the lobby is not lost on the weary traveller and the first impression is very favourable. The rooms are large and the bathrooms have good sanitary fittings. This is the first rainfall shower (in the tub) I've used that actually spews a wonderful shower of water. If you don't mind spending a little more, it's worth it.
We stayed in Radisson Blu Senator for one night. It's a very good business hotel. Radisson means quality. It does not have much charm, but you know what you get. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. Very clean. The location is great - just outside the old town (but quiet), on the bank of the channel. We had our breakfast on the terrace - very lovely. And WiFi is good :-)
If you have reason to stay in Lubeck, choose the Atlantic Hotel over the Radisson. Both are offered in many conference or meeting choices. To be honest, the standard rooms 'look' very similar at first glance. But, at the Radisson, the mattresses are hammocks and the pillows are thin and lumpy - yes, thin AND lumpy. Just horrible. The Radisson is a much larger hotel, so your chances of getting a room with a view of another room across an interior courtyard are much higher. River view rooms (best option) are limited. Attention to detail is lacking at this hotel. For example, the unlighted make up mirror in the teeny tiny bathroom is mounted - I kid you not - at about 5'8" high. So, you have to look up into a dark mirror to put on makeup. Why did they spend money on them at all if they were going to mount them where only a 6'2" man could see into them?? And by the way, if you ask for an upgrade, you get a larger room with all these problems anyway. Stay at the Atlantic instead - it's a great quality attention-to-detail German property - and not much of a price difference.
have been here twice in recent months. Very nice hotel with clean rooms and friendly staff. I'm even able to practice my basic German on them. The breakfast buffet is excellent, with ample choices of meats, cheeses, grains, etc. Did not try the sauna. The hotel boast a nice small swimming pool. Ideal for gearing up in the morning or washing of the day's stress in the evening.
Great location just outside the Old Town. we had a clean and well equipped room and bathroom. The beds were very comfortable with a well working air-condition, The brakfast was superb with plentty of tables both inside and outside.
Our room had a good bed, but a bay window that has blinds that are hard to close and a translucent bathroom door that’s around the corner from the bed, so wasn’t a problem. We had dinner there, a three-course menu, starting with a salad of greens with paté, melon, etc. Then monkfish and shrimp and dorade with potato puree. For dessert, Pickled Brie de Meaux with figs and red onions. Our dinner took two hours, not warranted for the three courses we ate.
This large hotel is in a wonderful position beside the river Trave overlooking the historic part of the town and two minutes from the Holstentor Gate so it is ideal for sightseeing. Our room was nice, a little on the small side, but well furnished and with a large window. Only a small part of the window opened which made it a little airless. Housekeeping was excellent. We ate in both restaurants and the food was good in both although we preferred the more casual Kogge as the menus was more extensive and the service better. The breakfast buffet was extensive and very good indeed.
This is a very good choice for a overnight stay or even more. Will come back with the family to visit Lubeck but now on business. Parking easy, nice bar and great breakfast. Will come back and explore Hanse stadt
The hotel is really great - nice rooms, view to the Lübeck Dom, really close to inner city/restarants (close walking distance), etc. BUT the bed was a nightmare; it felt like laying on a plank so the night was long and unpleasant! Otherwise the hotel was pleasant - expensive and business focused.
