Since the arrival we felt not really welcomed, the hotel management busy to attend a big group of hikers, the restaurant front door closed. A general impression of sloppiness. Many students as waiters, fine but not trained accordingly, dishes prepared without love. In general, a place not run by passionate professionals.
We booked this hotel to stay with our 3 year old and from the minute we got here we loved it. The lady in charge was absolutely lovely and so friendly especially to our son. The room was really nice, spotless and very spacious. We really enjoyed our stay here. Breakfast was lovely. Only downside was there is no food being served but wasn't a huge issue at all as we are aware it's off season and Murphy's across the road had really nice food so actually worked out well to get us out for a bit. Would highly recommend. Really enjoyed it here and would definitely come back.
Spent three lovely days in Ballyferriter at Ceann Sibeal Hotel for an O'Callahan family reunion. Very nice hotel with great rooms and excellent bar and dining areas with excellent food. Staff was responsive and courteous and easy to work with. Hotel was used by actors and support staff who were there to film last Star Wars movie and filming locations were visible from hotel. Likenesses of Yoda and Darth Vader are in front of hotel. Hotel in in small but lovely town of Ballyferriter on the Dingle peninsula in County Kerry.
Had a nice stay here. Family room can accommodate 5! We had an issue on arrival which was immediately sorted. Staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful and were patient enough to speak as Gaeilge with us. It is ideally located for touring or beach trips.
We first visited this hotel about 16 years ago shortly after it opened (I think). We had a great time then so when we were in the area we looked it up. The big selling point for us was that all 5 of us 2 adults plus three kids aged 11,13 and 17 could fit in the one room. One double bed and 3 full size singles! It was a real bonus as most hotels can't accommodate more than 2 adults and 2 children. Fish and chips for dinner in the bar was delicious and reasonable - especially compared to the inflated prices in Dingle. Amazing views, great beaches, walks and cycles. Check out Wine Strand, about 5 mins drive, for a lovely little sandy beach with lovely clear water and no seaweed. Dingle is close but this location is much more authentic and touristy. Breakfast was a freshly cooked full Irish with plenty of tea and coffee along with juice, cereals etc. Coffee wasn't great but only a small complaint. if you make it to Dingle, go a little further west to this hotel and you will not be disappointed. The staff were very helpful and accommodating and más maith leat cúpla focail Gaeilge a usáid beidh siad sona sásta cabhair a thabhairt duit. (If you want to use a few Irish words they will be happy to help).
This is a lovely little hotel on the Main Street in Ballyferriter you won’t miss it. It is the only hotel with Darth Vader and Yoda at the door! Our room was large with basic furnishings as expected. The bed was really comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean . There is a good breakfast with plenty of choice available. The staff were pleasant
You search for a hotel close to the town of Dingle, but with far less tourists: Ceann Sibeal is an excellent choice. In the Ceann Sibeal Hotel we had a very nice room with sea sight. The place offers also a comfortable drawing room and a good restaurant. Ballyferriter is a picturesque village in the west of Dingle Peninsula. It is a good starting point for excursions both to historical sites (Gallarus Oratory, Kilmalkedar) and wonderful hikes along beaches and cliffs. This is one of my 10 most favorite experiences in Ireland (you can check the others).
Traveling around the Dingle Peninsula: In this small hamlet, - ‘Ceann Sibal’ outside the Hotel, there were images of Yoda and Darth Vader. I had to have a closer look and they were amazing, made of a wireframe with pieces of rubber screwed and riveted to the frame, they were obviously made by an real artist. Would love to know what 'Fado Fado ar an mBuailtiin' means ?
Food was extremely poor, staff were young and inexperienced. The restaurant was not even busy, a total of 3 tables, yet they still managed to get our food order wrong. Such bad service, no management or older personnel to be seen.. don’t waste your money!
Useless bar staff who aren’t helpful Ordered two steaks and clearly asked for peppercorn on the side and it comes on the steak and waiter asked sorry is this ok. Woman behind the counter wanted the whole bar to know what she was doing in her career rather than serving people.
