Ziva a Boutique Villa4.5 out of 5.0

Went for a weekend trip with my sister for a full-on relaxing trip at a nice villa with good food, and Ziva was exactly what I expected. We stayed at a 1 bedroom pool villa. Beautiful villa. The place is walking distance to many restaurants and Seminyak beach is only a 5-10 minute car ride away. Ziva was located at a slightly odd place, plop in the middle of a kind of dingy road (just like any other luxurious villas in Bali lol) but once you enter, staff and service is just amazing. They provided one way airport transportation for free, free shuttle to Seminyak beach (5-10 minute ride depending on traffic), complementary breakfast (which was a LOT better than what I expected, afternoon tea, and they even gave us floaties for the pool. Breakfast was exceptional, didn't expect much because it was complementary but honestly I think it was better than some of the more expensive food we had at restaurants there. You can get it as a floating breakfast or served at the table. Loved the freshly squeeze juices. We had room service for dinner twice. Burger was meh but their indonesian/balinesian food was great, and cheap too!! Wifi was a little patchy which was a little disappointing but it was okay because i had data roaming. Oh and we took a cab from our villa to a restaurant, which was literally a 5 minute drive but made us pay 300k rupiah!!!!! When an Uber costed me 15k rupiah. Avoid taxis at all costs. They WILL con you. Take an Uber even if you have to wait a little longer. Great place to just relax and enjoy your villa.
We checked-in to this hotel as a newly engaged couple from the night before! We really wanted the rest of our holiday to be magical, comfortable, convenient and relaxing. Ziva was able to deliver on all counts. The welcome at the reception was great. They checked us in fairly quickly, carried our luggage and lead us to our private villa. The walk from the reception to Sarga Villa #5 was beautiful-there were arched green plants that led all the way down. When we entered, we saw that we had a giant pool to ourselves and a deck with sun-beds to tan or relax on as well as a covered-outdoor kitchen area where they cooked us breakfast every morning. Somehow, they found out we just got engaged the night before and set up a dining area outside with flowers around the table. The pool had a floating heart made of flower petals. When we entered our villa, we were greeted with a towel-swan display and flower arrangement on the bed. Sounds cheesy, but it was a great feeling. But the best part was that the TV already had a screensaver displayed on it of me kneeling down asking my now-fiancé to marry me-it was a picture of the moment of the proposal from the night before! They got a hold of it and used it on our TV screen. I was so happy because I scored major brownie points with the fiancé. We made full use of the easy-access to the pool from our bed. Yes, you read that right-the sliding window-doors next to the bed opened up in to the pool. The TV had good channels to watch, including HBO and some other action movie channels which made for easy watching at night before bed. We had free and easy-to-connect-to Wi-Fi and free water as well. Behind us, we had another sliding door with covered access to a large closet, vanity area and stone bath tub. Even here they wowed us again by having a drawn bath filled with bubbles rose-petals in the shape of a heart. We were able to access the pool from this area as well. The other side included a large sink, outside standing shower and toilet across. This “outside” aspect to the villa was amazing as we had plants and greenery all around us. Every area of our villa was private to us only-the walls were high and covered well. In the evening they sent their team with cooks to make us a celebratory steak and lobster engagement dinner, served with wine and dessert at our convenience. Everything was cooked at that moment that we were sitting at the dining table. They really helped us create some magical memories! We had to fill out forms to indicate what we wanted to eat and drink for breakfast the next morning and what time we wanted to eat at. They had a lot of food and drink selection for us. The location is amazing-we were a 10 min easy walk from one of the main streets in one direction, and Seminyak Square was an easy 15 min walk in the other direction. We walked to La Favela, had a great night of clubbing with drinks and dance, and walked back home absolutely safe-and-sound. Other days we cabbed to various hot spots and walked back home as it was nearby and the walk was easy. We had a modern-looking convenience store across the road, a nail-salon for the fiancé next to us, and shops and restaurants on either side. Since it rained a bit, there were issues with the Wi-Fi (not their fault) but they quickly provided us with a portable router that give us Wi-Fi access. They were quick to help us with everything that we needed. Ziva has indeed made our first trip to Bali so memorable and so amazing. Given the option to stay at the W or here, we definitely recommend staying here without a shred of doubt as they give you their undivided attention, care and top-notch quality service. Thanks, Ziva team and see you soon! Mack
We just stayed 10 days here in the 3 bedroom villa. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. Great location. I have read the last few reviews about locking etc but there are safes and you can lock the access to your villa. The staff, Ire, Komang and all the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. breakfast had a good variety. As a family of 5 who have previously stayed in resorts such as the W it was so nice to have our own space and pool. Depends what you are looking for but we loved it and would definitely come back. Maybe not as fancy as your upmarket resort but we enjoyed the privacy and space.
My wife and I had the pleasure of experiencing Ziva Villas recently. We can not speak highly enough about all the amazing staff and the beautiful villa. The location was walking distance to the beach and all the bars and restaurants. We loved the cooked breakfasts in our villa each morning and the 12 metre swimming pool. We will be returning with the children (maybe).
We stayed here for 9 nights at the start of our honeymoon. Location wise it is fantastic, being tucked away from the busy areas however still close enough to walk for a meal or drink. Villa itself is large and the pool is large, couldn't open your eyes under the water due to the strong chemicals used however we found this an issue at every pool we had in Bali. The staff are amazing and very friendly. We had them make bookings for us without an issue. Villa is very large and private. Would recommend Ziva to anyone
The villas is in a good location close to Seminyak Square, however the villa was very badly designed. We only stayed one night had major problems getting internet had to get maintenance in at 11pm as could not lock main door so they had to drill hole in floor. Next morning again no internet also no phone service. To get to the pool lounges one had to hop in pool with towels on head to get to the other side and getting in and out of the pool on the side where lounges were was an excerise...no steps.
The Villa looked impressive when we booked it. It is clean, the staff are good, however, we could not lock our villa, so we had a technician in our room at 11 pm drilling holes in the tiled floor to allow us to lock our room. The front door to the Villa is away from the main part of the sleeping accomodation and as it was raining, you have to go out get wet to let the staff in. The pool is huge, ridiculously so......if you want to laze on the lounges by the pool you have to swim your towels...or anything else you may want across the pool, there isn't an easy way to get to the lounges. The dining area is outside which is fine but it is sunken with no steps to get down 😳.......really poor layout. Our phone didn't work in the Villa and reception is a long way from the villa. The location is fine, close to main Seminyak...but it is quiet. The sleeping part of the villa is glas on 4 sides so it's a bit fishbowl like.
Stayed here a in early April for 2 nights and upon arrival the reception is simple and on top of a staircase. Due to the price we paid we were expecting something a bit more flashy and luxurious, not to say it wasn't very comfortable, but the facilities of the building are falling apart and you can tell that it is reaching 10 years old. The tiny single bathroom at reception is quite disgusting and we were a bit surprised at it. The location is great, a very short walk to Seminyak Square and we didn't use the shuttle bus. Photos on the website are pretty on point but they don't show you how old the building and construction is. When you stay you'll see quite a few things broken (Wooden sliding doors get stuck very easily in Villa 5, cracking walls in the outdoor bathroom and mould, broken cabinets and rusting closures within the doors in the bedroom.) The sliding doors really need to be replaced as it was most annoying trying to get in and out and keep the air con inside, and to maintain privacy if you get a little sick. Staff were great and friendly, always helpful and no issue. It is more management that needs to invest in fixing up the small issues in each villa if they expect to charge upwards >$300 a night for a villa. We stayed in a villa in ubud for $85 and it was much the same and better value for money. The pool was great and cleaned daily. Not enough hooks/drying towel racks in the bathroom. Just a note they have little ceramic shower gels in the bathroom which I'd recommend not using as they are very slippery and one got broken, costing us 175000 IDR as a flat fee from management. A bit of a high cost for such a tiny amenity. We had a good stay, not amazing but not terrible. Probably wouldn't stay here again as there are other properties at similar prices that are in better condition. Consider paying less elsewhere and not feel a bit ripped off. Note: On Expedia this hotel is also called Ziva A Boutique Villas"
My husband and I recently stayed at Ziva Villa as part of our honeymoon stay in Bali, it was a nice stay and if the price was right we would definitely stay again. Pros: The Villas are located in a fantastic part of Seminyak with only a 5 minute walk to the heart of Seminyak Square. The villa pool is absolutely amazing, they are one of the biggest i've seen for a one bedroom villa in Bali. The Staff are really helpful. Cons: If i'm going to be honest, the breakfast was a let down for us. Although there is a lot to choose from, the quality could be a lot better for the price you pay for the villa. Our food was quite oily, food mostly came out cold, milk was forgotten with our tea and no water was provided at breakfast time. If this could improve, would be a great addition. The whole villa is surrounded by windows which has curtains to draw close, with the exception of one area to the bathroom where sunlight comes through. Would be good if this could have curtains too. Tip: Try and ask for Villa 4. It has an L shaped pool and is away from street traffic.
Thank you Ziva Villa for making our stay in Bali perfect! The pool was huge and clean, the whole villa is just really beautiful and modern. Words can't explain how much I love this villa. Very close to Seminyak area as well, around 15 mins walk to Seminyak Square. The butler came in the morning to make us breakfast, we had breakfast by the pool. This is minor but the bathroom area is semi-outdoor with no actual door so some water spilled out during shower. Would definitely recommend anyone to stay at here. Can't wait for our next trip to Bali and to stay at Ziva again.
