My wife and I have recently spent 11 nights in a villa at The Oberoi Bali. It is an outstanding hotel in every way. General Manager John Halpin leads a high quality workforce well drilled in guest services. Nothing we encountered could be improved. Courtesy, attention to detail, in villa cleaning, restaurant, bar, spa, concierge service was so close to perfect in every detail. As soon as we returned home we booked a villa for 21 days six months after our first stay and are excited to be returning. We have stayed in hotels in Bali for 40 years and ask ourselves - Why did it take us so long to try The Oberoi? We need never look again.

Booked by a favorite travel agent, this stay was lovely and went by much to quickly! The setting is paradise! The sunset over the ocean, the abundant sculpture, the lily ponds and the meticulous grounds are serene and beautiful. The service is excellent, the food unexpectedly delicious and the spa is worth booking! I loved the boutique even after experiencing the shopping around Bali. They have selected the best of the island making gift and memory buying easy and enjoyable! The rooms are nicely sized and comfortable. A feeling of solitude and privacy, yet easy access to all that is available! I would return without hesitation!

There is little one can say in a review that would truly give credit to how wonderful this hotel is. Can I give it 10 stars? 5 doesn't really cover it... My mother and I stayed here for a week and could not have had a better experience. It was our first experience with the Oberoi group and we are now hooked. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty by the divine staff. Often when one stays in five star hotels, it is natural to have smiles and the usual courtesies. Staying at the Oberoi however, we found that every smile, how are you, have a good day etc was heartfelt. The staff genuinely cared whether or not you are happy and you only had to so much as raise your eyebrow for one of them to come dashing over. Whoever trains the staff deserves a medal, as they have been taught so very well. Redefining the meaning of 'service'. The pool is stunning, we just loved the traditional large stone pool that looked like something out of the Night Manager. Please do not change it for the mediocre and common infinity pool that has seemed to manifest in ever other hotel. Pools like yours are few and far between. Note: the first picture on your TripAdvisor page seems to be a private villa pool. Could mislead potential guests into thinking thats the only pool? Might be worth changing it to a shot of the grand pool. Villas were beautifully spaced out and you felt like you were one of only a few on the resort. Heavenly beds with a pik'n'mix of pillow types, should you wish to change what your head lies on one night! Just another example of the seamless management which makes you feel so very special. The location of the hotel is the best, seeing as the Oberoi was one of the first hotels to have the 'Balinese villa' style lodging. All the brilliant shops and beach clubs are within walking distance. Just be sure to bring an empty suitcase with you so you can lug home your lovely unique purchases! I cannot say anything more without droning on, which i could do for paragraphs! All I can say is; stay at the Oberoi Bali and not be devastated to leave - I challenge you.

We have just returned from our thirteenth visit to this property and we hated to leave. The property is beautiful, located on 15 acres of oceanfront. It is truly an oasis of calm in an area that has grown beyond its proportions. There are 70 luxury Lanais and Villas throughout the property which is spectacularly maintained by a 65 person grounds crew. There is a tennis court, spa and fitness center and a bar and restaurants that offer amazing culinary selections. If one were to spend a day at the pool one would be offered fruit skewers at noon, sorbet at 2:00 and high tea at 4:00. At teatime there is always entertainment consisting of Balinese dance, Music, and native crafts demonstrations. However, what makes this the very best is the attention to detail as seen to by their amazing manager, John Halpin and his equally amazing staff. Their training program has to be peerless. Everyone is warm and friendly greets you with a friendly "Hello" or "Good Morning" or "Good Afternoon or Good Evening" There is nothing phony about the warmth exuded. At the restaurants we were always greeted by name and I found it extraordinary how they all remembered us. The first couple of times we asked for additional sugar substitute and after that we didn't have to ask as it was always brought to our table. This hotel represents Bali the way it used to be and beckons to us year after year. We are already thinking about our fourteenth visit.

One of the oldest hotels in Seminyak (initially set up as a private club), the resort occupies a large area by the famous beach. It displays great attention in details, from the beautiful landscaping, the nice lanais and villas. Gardens include beautiful pieces of Bali tradition and art. Fountains, ponds. Service is outstanding, always greeting you with a smile. Great food too. Great relaxing place for our 10th anniversary!

We spent the best part of a week back at the Oberoi in Seminyak in late August - it had been a gap of several years since our previous visits - and we both remarked on the outstanding service level within an hour or two. Our previous "best service ever" of any hotel in the world had probably been the Oberoi at Udaipur in India but we agreed the Oberoi Bali is now right up there: the level of staff congeniality, attention to detail and the usual Oberoi talent for recalling names/habits/preferences after just one drink or meal was perfectly obvious. For someone in business like myself, such gracious consistency is an awesome management achievement; the Oberoi in Bali had always been good - but now it is humming. This is no new, ritzy place for glamour and showing off, of course (we were reminded of how flimsy and annoying that can be by a stay at Bali's W Hotel last year) but, as the Queen of Seminyak, the Oberoi has the prime and largest beachfront site, the most expansive and peaceful gardens and an air of refined poise unequalled by any other property we have enjoyed in Bali - with the possible exception of Como Shambhala, which is an entirely different (and austere) wellness experience. And we have tried many - Bali is such a short trip from Australia that we go there once a year for true relaxation amongst our more stressful international travels; the traditional bale designs and staff dress at the Oberoi are much more part of Bali than the nearby discos and shopping strips, not to mention flashy new resorts, full of spectacle but devoid of the expert masseuses and wait staff of the established properties. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and it is so pleasing to see so many old faces among them - loyal and polished professionals. These days I tend to find time to review only those properties that stand out to me - this is one of them. So forgive my enthusiasm but, if you are looking for a sublime pampering experience in Bali, you won't be disappointed by the Oberoi.

I challenge anyone to stay here and not be blown away by the service given. My daughter and I stayed for a week and we had the most wonderful, truly unforgettable time. Thank you Oberoi BALI for the magical memories. You have to experience this type of service at least once in your life to know how high the bar can be raised for hotel service par excellence. The only down side is everywhere else you stay from then on, is being compared to The Oberoi and we have now been well and truly spoilt. The hotel location is excellent for Seminyak's famous beach bars Ku de Ta and Potato Head if you want some 'young fun' (I'm mid 50's and loved them both) and within easy walking distance to some wonderful boutique and interior design shops. Remember not to overpack as you'll want to take some lovely individual pieces back not seen on European high streets. The Oberoi's stunning grounds are so immaculate you think the grass must have been cut with scissors. The spacious expanse of the hotel lay out gives you such a zen feeling of peace in paradise. So grateful they have been very wise to avoid any overbuilding here. The food we had was flavoursome and faultless, with all tastes catered for, nothing is too much trouble. We loved their stone pool with the lovely sun bed loungers and 'last days of the Raj' umbrellas. Complimentary sorbets every afternoon, the green tea one was to die for and we were even given the chance to release baby turtles into the ocean thanks to the Oberoi's conservation programme. A huge thank you to all the staff, too numerous to mention but who are in a league of their own, they should be very proud of their achievements and I hope you all know how good you really are.

After the frenatic drive from the airport, not the driver, but the sheer amount of traffic in Bali, the Oberoi was a very welcome respite! The hotel is beautifully laid out, even full you would not be falling over each other, although the pool may feel a little overcrowded, as it was, when we were there despite the hotel only being partially full. The beach is open to all and all though clean you will be bothered by hawkers The staff were all friendly and nothing was too much bother. The food excellent with a good choive, although could be repetitive if you were there more than a week

Before we even began our trip, The Oberoi contacted us asking about our favorite pillow type, any specific dietary needs and if we were celebrating any special occasion. While at the resort, every need was met, but I'd like to concentrate on the pool experience. We went out to sit by the pool and carried with us our resort-provided ditty bag, full of our essentials: swim goggles, kindle, etc. The pool stewards rushed up to us and asked where we'd like to be -- in the shade, we replied. The stewards arranged 2 lounge chairs, under an umbrella and around a table with a basket. The basket was for our ditty bag. They then brought 2 glasses, two chilled bottles of water, sunscreen, and refreshing mister to keep cool. It didn't stop there, they covered the lounge chairs with a towel, provided a pillow and another pool towel. Finally, they gave us a small white flag we could use to get their attention. We never had to use the white flag. If we cocked our eyebrow at the stewards, they were there for our drink order. It blew us away. The whole week was filled with this level of service.

Read all the reviews saw all the photos then very impressive...what a great feeling. It was a gorgeous oasis outside of all the Seminyak hustle & bustle. Loved the traditional Balinese architecture, the gorgeous immaculate gardens, the pool, the complimentary afternoon tea & fresh fruit in room & of course service with a big smile. We even had our sunglasses cleaned poolside! We were able to walk out to many seminyak dining options but the resort has gorgeous restaurant, bar & outdoor breakfast area with beach views it does make it a difficult decision to leave the grounds. Checked out some other hotels close by but this would definitely be our pick if we returned. So relaxing, calming & romantic we were definitely injected with that honeymoon feeling. Thank you to all the staff.
