I stayed at 6 different hotels during my trip to Asia with my boyfriend and this was my least favourite place. I only stayed one night so I didn’t complain about a lot of things to the hotel but I definitely do not think they are 4 star hotel. Here’s some general info about the hotel: As others mentioned, this hotel is a bit secluded but that was fine as me and my boyfriend rented a scooter through the hotel for 75k/day. The hotel grounds are huge, it’s right by the golf course and you go through two gates with a security “guard” to get to the hotel. The hotel is very large and I found it easy to get lost in. There were two pools from what I could see, with a bar in at least one of them. There’s an on-site clinic, mahjong room, and room with snacks for purchase. My boyfriend and I got the room for a cheap price so breakfast wasn’t included but we were ok with that. Breakfast is 110k per person but we decided not to go to it. The staff was very helpful, helping us rent the scooter, arranging airport transportation and answering my questions. As we didn’t pay much for the room and as were were only staying one night, I understand we would probably be given one of the “not so nice” rooms. When we first arrived in the Deluxe room, there were two beds instead of one. Ok, we can survive one night on separate beds so I said it was fine. We then got ready to go out. We don’t normally carry our passports with us so I looked for the safe. There was none. We were ok to carry our passports and laptops out with us. When I was looking for the safe, I noticed the sliding door of the closet was falling apart. If I lifted the upper cabinet door, the sliding door would have fallen on me! So we didn’t touch the closet for the rest of the night. Finally, to the bathroom: when we went to take a shower we noticed there were no hand towels or anything given to us, only two body towels and a towel/mat for the ground. When we got the counter wet we had to use toilet paper to wipe it which I think is so wasteful. The shower didn’t work that well as there was an overhead shower and a handheld shower. There should be one or the other on at one time but they were both spraying water at all times even when I pulled the nozzle out to switch the shower head. When I went to dry my hair, there was no hair dryer and I had to call the front desk to ask for one which they brought to me within ten minutes but I think that is something that should have been provided in the room and I shouldn’t have to ask for it. Also, the outlet in the washroom was different from the outlets in the rest of the room and the hair dryer plug didn’t fit there. I stayed in the ruby section of the hotel and it was very noisy, you can hear doors slam and people talking. I don’t know if they were outside the room or in the rooms next to us but I kept waking up at night until 3am. I don’t know if my experience was just poor because I was given a bad room due to the fact I paid a low price for my room and I was staying one night but I really don’t think this place is a 4 star hotel!

Wasn't happy that l couldn't get into my room at 2-15pm,all the staff had to do was give me another room that was ready to enter into,l suggested it too them and l was then granted the other room. The staff English isn't the best, but most helpful at times. This hotel is fairly nice, large rooms, nice large pool, nice cocktails by the pool, cheap. Breakfast was a nice selections, but staff need to be aware not too take customers plates away from Thier table ,while they get more food, this happened twice in a row, cleared my table completely as I walked over to get more food.Dinner food was nice. Staff need improvement in training for this 5 star hotel,eg ,when you mop up water at breakfast station and a little girl slipped over as you didn't put up a warning sign, wet floor ??? That girl could have hurt herself !!! If it wasn't me to ask you too get a sign and place it there ! Others could have fallen over as well.l saw the issues here !! And then she fell !! This hotel has some issues, regarding staff entering my room, while l was out one evening and l had a do not disturb sign on my door !! This is illegal for your staff to enter my room and bring in towels, when l never requested them !! Did they come to steal something ? That's why I don't leave money or valuables in my room. The room lack simple items ,bath foam for a bath ,as why have a bath in the room without bubbles, face washers and hand towels, none in the room.No wine glasses, ashtray and no bottle opener either. No lightening over the bed to be able to read in bed and not enough power outlets to charge phone and iPad.Apart from theses minor things,my room was comfortable, bed was lovely and poolside room was nice, aircon worked nice. I chose to stay here too visit dreamland beach. Beach was okay but hated the beach club upstairs as too many Asians families screaming across the pool to Thier children and this place wasn't for me at the club !! The Le grande is great value to stay if you want too relax but far out of the main tourist area to visit .Must book with hotel the Kecak night tour amazing experiences 100,000 rp with free transport from hotel at Uluwatu temple. Thanks ELISA

Stayed at Le Grande about a week ago with my partner. Have nothing negative to say at all. The location is fairly secluded, but we knew that before arriving as we had the common sense to search it up unlike some people leaving negative reviews below who seem to expect the world to lay out a red carpet in front of them. Staff were more than pleasant, very attentive and helped us out with any requests we had eg/ we needed a PowerPoint adapter and scooter rental which was the cheapest I’ve encountered in Bali (75,000 IDR with no additional expenses) which also makes up for the mild isolation of the hotel. Breakfast was pretty average, however we are westerners in an Asian country, stick to the local cuisine. If you’re expecting eggs benedict with a crispy side of bacon and staff to pull out your chair without so much as a reciprocating smile, head to your birthgivers residence and demand an apology for raising an ignorant, narcissistic piece of trash. Would definitely stay here again! Great pool and grounds! Thanks to the team for your hospitality!

We were there for two nights because our friends were getting married at a venue near by le grande. It’s a huge hotel. At first we were given a very dark room at one floor below the lobby at the corner of the building. After we requested, they gave us a better room. Very good breakfast. It takes a while to go from the hotel to the street by car. Very secluded location.

Peaceful surroundings, helpful staff, so-so breakfast, large rooms and bathrooms, large pool but quite far from any other attractions. Me and hubby didn't mind because we like quiet place for getaway.

This is a good, luxurious hotel but not really 5 stars. The rooms and bathrooms are good size with a small balcony. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived at 2pm though and had to wait maybe 45-60 mins. It is at least a 10/15 min drive to anywhere central and definitely not walking distance but there are always taxis at the hotel ready. Would recommend if location is not important.

Huge resort hotel, but in the middle of nothing! Dreamland beach is about 20min walk away and nothing else closer, you have to have transport to get around meaning paying their prices! Room was good, big and price was very reasonable. Breakfast was a normal hotel buffet style with lots of choice but nothing to rave about. Pool is lovely and big. On check in, no welcome drink provided and could not check in early (which is fine) although more than half the hotel was empty. Free shuttle to Uluwatu Temple, really helpful, although timings for hotel pickup and return did not give enough time to see the much of the temple before the Kecak dance! Free shuttle to nusa dua beaches good but not free to anywhere else. If you want to explore Uluwatu, go to cafes/restaurant and see more of the little beaches you need transport! Check out is by mid-day and with my flight late that evening I was able to leave bags at the hotel for the day. However, after a day at the beach, having a place to shower and change was difficult. They only offer you the little swimming pool shower which is tricky to change in. Then when I asked if they had a hairdryer I could borrow, they bought one to the front reception but had no where I could go to use it. They said I could just use it at reception - no private space or changing area with a plug. This was very annoying considering more than half the hotel rooms were sat empty. All I wanted was a place to dry my hair and use a mirror but they 'didn't have that' & 'there was nothing they could do'. Good hotel, but bad place to be in if you want to explore.

Where do I begin? 1) Room was not what we requested, rang reception to inform them but they did not offer us an alternative 2) Room smells like mould & shower leaked, very very poor maintenance 3) Air Conditioner is not cold at all, room was as hot as it was outside 4) Breakfast buffet was ordinary, not a lot of selections 5) Pool, very poor maintenance (water dirty, temperature was like a hot bath not refreshing at all) 6) Floor boards around people are dodgy, when you step on them you feel like your going to fall through. 7) Staff constantly rang door bell in early hours of morning with laundry despite (Do Not Disturb Sign) on door, I mean over & over until we answered probably rang 12 times within 30 seconds 8) First hotel we've stayed in Bali that has DEMANDED payment up front (I can see why, because if we hadn't, I guarantee we would of left within 20minutes of our arrival) 9) Reception staff speak VERY LITTLE english, very hard to understand also 10) Outdoor lounge seat was disgusting, food/drink stains all over it, looks like it has never been cleaned 11) Mini Bar fridge at lowest level of cold is like room temperature, not cold at all 12) Spa is very over priced & not worth it. 13) Ceiling & walls are all damaged with cracks & dents 14) Bed has left us very itchy with tiny bites on your legs, back & arms I'm not one to complain or ramble, but this hotel was awful! I wouldn't tell my worst enemy to stay here thats how bad it was. I hope this review reaches EVERYONE who is contemplating staying here, spend a little extra & stay elsewhere i assure you, its worth it. Among other things, transportation in this area is also terrible & hotel staff offer transportation that is beyond a rip off in price. If I could give 'No Stars" as a rating, i would. Honestly, I hate to sound like a terrible/complaining person but this resort has almost ruined what has been a wonderful holiday, it is NOWHERE near a 5 star service, I will never stay here again & urge others to not make it there first.

The rooms are huge and tidy. The beds are very comfortable and you'll probably spend a good night sleep at the Grande Bali, that's for the positive side. I was very disappointed with the service level of this (supposed to be 5 star) hotel. I initially arrived for checking and my room wasn't ready yet so I went to the beach and came back two hours later with the room still not yet ready. I was very thirsty and no one proposed something to drink, so I went outside for a drink and came back one hour later with the room finally ready. Second incident occurred as the cleaning service cleaned the room but didn't replace the towels. I simply call room service to get some towels and ear buds. They hang up on me so I had to go myself to the front desk to request some towels. The hotel itself is not bad but the staff seem to be slightly overwhelmed and unorganized. I'm disappointed because you spend a bit more for a nice stay while service was by far the worst of my Indonesian trip.

Deliberately chose a 5 star hotel for first 2 nights that looked close to the airport so that I could rest. Was a great choice although drive was further than I thought (177k on meter but I was quoted 250k by every unmetered taxi at the airport). Two security layers at the gates of the estate housing several upmarket hotels so felt really safe. Didn't see/hear any other European or solo travellers. Late check-in was fine, room was enormous (1 bed suite for 900k p/n via booking.com) and good value. Small gripes: 1. not enough plugs! Had to unplug lights. 2. Kitchen in room but not equipped so you couldn't cook but there was a large fridge and dining table so you could picnic easily. 3. Could not get any reply from room service on the first night despite trying several times. Had not eaten for 12 hours when I arrived but had to tough it out until breakfast. 4: There.are no shops nearby (there are small shops.for.clothes and water, crisps etc in lobby) and although it looks like a one mile hike to the beach on the map you are discouraged from walking through the private.golf course and it's down a steep cliff. There might be a free shuttle or get a taxi! Uluwatu temple was a 30 min drive away (also looked closer on the map) as was Single Fin bar with views of the sunset to die for. I paid my driver to wait while I went round the temple and then had dinner and it only cost 100k extra on top of the metered fares. (Use Bluebird!) I had a massage at the onsite spa (400k for one hour) but it was SO good and so effective at relieving all the tension from the flight that I booked another whole body massage for the 2nd day! The breakfast buffet.(110k) was extraordinary. Massive selection even for a vegetarian and I caloried up for the day ahead. Pool area was pleasant. Plenty of beds and cabanas for the people there. Cocktails next to the pool after dark were fab. Would highly recommend for the Uluwatu area.
