Where to start.. (Grab the popcorn, sorry its a long one) Arriving at the LeGrande hotel, I was very impressed by the beautiful surroundings and at first sight the hotel looked clean and inviting. My mum and I had planned a trip to Bali and had adjoining rooms. The first day we were there was when the problems began. The first thing to go wrong was my mums toilet which wouldn't flush. We went to the front counter to seek help and they assured us someone would be there soon to fix it, however by that afternoon she was still without a toilet. As we increased the urgency (everyone needs access to a toilet) they finally came late that afternoon and it appeared as though it had been fixed. However, as soon as my mums toilet was fixed, my toilet stopped working. Not sure if the plumbing in between the seperate rooms was connected however my toilet stopped flushing, and it soon became apparent that they had done a quick fix on my mums toilet because it too stopped working again. It's extremely embarrassing having toilets that don't flush - especially because there's usually one way you figure that out... (After you've been). By the second day we had found a multitude of things that were wrong with the rooms. The cleanliness of my room was deplorable, I had lots of hair on my floor where it had clearly not been swept or vacuumed, there was actually dried blood on my bathroom floor, and the tipping point was a toe nail on the floor near my bed. This was unbelievable and so extremely disappointing, then there were the problems with the safe. Luckily whatever was wrong in one room, seemed to work in the other room. (besides the toilets). My mum's safe didn't work, so we utilised mine. My front door actually wouldn't open or close (unless you slammed it) so we used mums. Just when it was becoming comical how much stuff wasn't working, I went to blow dry my hair after a nice shower. I picked up the hair blower and it literally fell off the wall. Luckily mums worked. By the second night, my aircon woke me up because of the amount of water it was dripping. By the next day, we seeked the assistance of the manager. The people at the counter were lovely and polite however nothing was ever fixed through them. The manager took one look at our rooms, and he was happy to move us into new rooms. Great, we were being listened to and put in new rooms, what could go wrong? It was now our last night in LeGrande and we had new rooms to look forward to. Except for hot water, don't expect hot water. At least the toilets flushed and there wasn't blood or nails on the floor. There was however, lots and lots of hair again. I was extremely annoyed at not having hot water, that and a toilet that flushes are basic needs that you expect when on holiday. Other things that weren't consistent with any decent hotel was the fact that the kettles in each of the rooms we stayed in (4 in total between the two of us) didn't have any power points that they actually matched up with. I'm not sure if this was just really unlucky but the only power point my kettle would fit in was under the study desk? I finally managed to boil the kettle of water (in my mums room) and picked up a tea bag in the tray of coffee's ect. Even the tea bag was open and old, who knows how long it had been sitting there! This was far too much effort for tea, I quickly gave up. The last thing was the inconsistency between the towels in the rooms. Small things that any professional hotel should get right. My first room had no hand towels or face washers but my second room had hand towels. Odd. My hair blower in my second room again didn't work, so I went to use mums and she didn't even have one. Last but not least, the taps and plumbing for the bath in my new room were actually coming off the wall. I'll attach photos. It was similar in mums bathroom where the stone had cracked previously and they had tried to seal it over. Definitely a botched repair that compromises safety of the people staying there. The only thing I can rave about is the wifi. It was brilliant. Thanks LeGrande, I did all of my downloads there. Very helpful! PS Don't eat the food. Don't do it to yourselves. Also don't use the hotel taxi service, it's way over priced by about 100,000 rupiah. If anyone want's to get back to me about refunding my money, that'd be much appreciated (however I know this isn't in any world going to happen..) Regards

A group of 30 family members just stayed 4 nights at this hotel. The rooms are spacious but a bit tired looking. Needs sprucing up. If one is using the hotel as a base to explore the surrounding district, be forewarned that this is not a good idea. The traffic is horrendous. It took our bus 3 hours to go to Tanah Lot, Nusa Dua and 2.5 hours to get to Ubud. The strong point of this hotel is the staff. They were extremely friendly and obliging. I want to particularly single out Mr. Anil, a manager at the resort for commendation.Even though he is not in charge of the resort's spa centre, he did his utmost to arrange for a group of 6 of us to have our massage at the same time at very short notice.He even got additional therapist from outside to cater to us. By the way , the Balinese lulur massage is highly recommended. Finally, the breakfast buffet is really good. The food is always kept warm and some items of the menu are changed daily. So even though we had breakfast there for 4 days, we were not bored by the menu. The peanut butter is highly recommended - extremely creamy , nutty and flavourful. I talked with the chef and he obligingly shared his recipe with me.

Wonderful staying The staff was incredibly warm, i stay for honeymoon and when i entered the room, they surprised us with beautifully-romantic room set-up. Room facilities works well, foods was superb, and The swimming pool simply nice and clean. It was memorable staying All thanks to "The Person in Charge" at that day - Mr. Willy Purba.

the Air Con not cold enough. hotel room need full restoration. huge bathroom with bathtub. great value for money. a little to dark for a hotel. near to some beach at south bali(rent a motorcycle / car). breakfast is good.

I stayed here as we had a wedding in Uluwatu and my gosh it wasn't a nice experience, started off bad as I requested a ground floor room close to pool and ended up on the top floor as far away from the pool as could get, when asked was told they had nothing available (hard to believe as I booked 9 months in advance) you are so far away from everywhere you can't walk and have to wait at least 15-20mins for a cab that don't have metres. The food was absolutely horrible! Buffet and all room service bland and slow service which is a problem when it is such an effort to get anywhere else for a meal. When it was time to leave we got a driver through the hotel, don't do this, he was aggressive spoke no English and had no idea where to go, just pay the little extra for someone else! Even if you are a golfer would suggest stay elsewhere

I ordered a tour package including a 5 star hotel, that is how I stayed in this hotel. The ranking system apparently is different. It is a beautiful location, golf course. But it is far away from most of the attractions. The hotel has shuttle, otherwise, nothing in walking distance. The hotel service is good. The first night I complained air condition not strong enough, impossible to sleep. First they sent an engineer ( that is how they called him) to fix it. I still feel it only cool a portion of the room. The staff took me to try other rooms. I found the good air condition at the 4th room. It is a new air conditioner. I really appreciate that staff patiently find the room for me. All of workers are very friendly , smiling, helpful. They did try their best to satisfy our needs.

Away from the hustle and bustle from the Kuta area where all the shopping and stuff is but the price made it a good deal. Getting an uber/grab will take some time but it will eventually come. The cheap price comes with an old hotel (some old hotel smell) but the excellent service more than made up for it. The staff treated you like you are the only guests in the hotel.

i choose this hotel becouse the price quiet cheap, actualy the pool is very nice, the ambience nice too, breakfast is excellent. but sorry i have to say, this hotel is urgently need to maintance.. the bathroom is flooded at my sister room, and the aircon didnt work well at my room. after that they gave us new room and it works well.. the staff are friendly and nice but lil bit slow respond ( i think they have to add some crew ) :)

During the whole day, you will meet up to 3-4 guests. Tent ohotel is an oasis of tranquility created for relaxation. The staff is friendly. Breakfast in the hotel is very tasty. I really recommend the hotel. Really great hotel, I'll be back for a year.

The hotel itself is like a concrete jungle. The rooms are large but dark which made it feel like a prison. Couldn't use the balcony freely due to all of the Mosquitos as there is a lot of foliage and water around the walls of the hotel. The hotel is mainly Chinese and they are rude and loud and filthy to say the least! Smoking in the restaurant, spitting hacking up etc etc We were above the bar area and on our first night was a wedding which was loud to say the least, karaoke until the wee hours. This also meant that from early evening the bar was not able to be used fully as it was private function. Eating dinner we were mingling with wedding guests! The next night was quieter but the one after that was the start of the management event which was for a week so there were various things being done to prepare for this, not very relaxing! You had to go on a bike to get anywhere as there was zero things within walking distance of the hotel. Every time we left a weight was lifted, it was truly an oppressive place to be. Staff spoke very little English so struggled to communicate. Food poor in all. Pool clean however! The hotel seemed to focus on its events and managers rather than the paying guests and there is nothing to do but sit in your room when an event is underway. Not an enjoyable or relaxing experience. We booked 10 nights and stayed 3.
