We were in the area for a wedding & decided to visit for lunch. The resort staff were prompt to service our table & the menu provided great variety. Our meals were so nutritious & the fresh juices refreshing.

This review is about the beach club and how they failed to provide a safe experience to their customers; so if you are looking for insights about the hotel itself you cannot find it here. Located in a remote are far from the crowds, this was exactly what we were looking for. Quite pricey in Bali standards but the food was amazing, pool was very relaxing and staff was friendly. I was thinking of booking my next stay there until I tried to get ride to go back. It is a real nightmare is to get in and out of there. You are not allowed to arrive or leave in any car other then the ones which are provided by the "villagers" who are basically an organised gang who does not hesitate to bully and threaten you and your driver so they can overcharge you the they want. We paid around 300,000 Rupiahs (23 USD, 30SGD) for a trip to Ubud from there which is a 15 km drive. When we approached the hotel, they saşd they support the locals but I believe they were given a good warning by the gangs so they are left with no other choice or they just don't care about having their own car service and happy with leaving their customers to the hand of scary gangstas. These hardworking villagers stalked us on a motorbike down the road the moment we left the hotel, did not let us get into any other car or bluebird taxi, scared our Uber driver and forced us to take a car that is owned by them and the transaction was endorsed by the hotel through the reception. This is unacceptable for a resort which brands itself as luxurious. I have no problems with supporting the locals but I have problems with being day robbed and forced to take a ride with this kind of people. So if you are planning to stay there there are no safe and sustainable transportation available.

My daughter & I stayed here for 4 nights on recent trip to Bali with a group of friends. Amazing experience from start to finish. Was sad to leave, we loved every minute of our stay here. All of the Staff were very friendly, welcoming, attentative and helpful. Food was good. Room lovely, clean and modern. Beautiful resort. Not much to do in the area but we had no plans to do anything but relax here. Gorgeous well kept grounds. Brilliant Balinese massage on site. We will definitely return here.

My partner and I were married at Komune in early September this year... we wanted a Melbourne vibe with a bit of class, but also a relaxed and fun environment! Komune absolutely delivered...! From start to finish they were amazing to deal with. The day was one we will never forget and the staff made us feel not just like customers, but like family. They genuinely cared about our experience and were so happy to share in celebrating this exciting time for us. Komune is the perfect way to experience the beauty of Bali, without the Kuta esque crowd. The food is amazing, with an exceptional menu at both the beach club and health hub that allowed us to enjoy a little indulgence, but also keep up our fit and healthy lifestyle. Chilled vibes, amazing staff, exceptional food.. Komune is a hidden gem and we will definitely be back.

We enjoyed a very relaxing stay. The resort is well set up with separate areas for both families with young children and others who just want a quiet relaxing time. When we first arrived I was concerned that the beachside family pool was the only one at the resort before discovering the 'adults only' pool and quiet garden restaurant, phew! The resort suites were comfortable and clean and we found the staff to be both helpful and friendly. The only negatives were the high cost of transport to leave the resort as the hotel in conjunction with the local village drivers have fixed prices. We ended up sourcing an excellent driver based in Ubud who charged us a third of what the hotel was charging. The other negative, when we were enjoying a delicious breakfast in the garden restaurant, the general manager walked in and chastised Balinese staff because they had moved some heavy timber furniture to an incorrect location. He basically humiliated them within earshot of paying guests. We understand the staff had not performed the task correctly but that did not excuse the manner in which the situation was handled by a GM.

The rooms are really worn. Stains on sheets, marks on walls...tired The staff is slow. An unusual experience from what I encountered in other parts of Bali. The small creek in front of the beach view rooms has litter and a strong odor. The food is ho hum. Overall, it looked like a place families with young children would enjoy, since that's the majority of who i saw. Don't expect local culture or local prices. I would not return. I stayed less than a day but was charged for two nights due to some challenging communication with the management. However, I'm glad I didn't choose my original itinerary, as an extra time at Komune would've extended my disappointment. Even the beach club was a bummer. As a guest, I thought I could sit anywhere, but was told I couldn't. There are signs on the comfy chairs that have "minimum spend" on them. I couldn't get a clear answer from the staff as to what that meant. The entire time I felt out of place. For $100 a night in Bali, you should living like a king. The resort room just wasn't very nice. I'm guessing the beach villas are much better.

We recently held a Business and Balance retreat with 8 business owners from Australia. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough. The communication we had prior to our arrival, setting up the details of the retreat and the running of everything while we were there was so easy. All of the staff were very accommodating to every request and did so with a huge smile :) On the business side, we will be looking at dates to bring another group next year! On the facilities and resort side, I can't rate it high enough. The food is amazing and very reasonably priced. I love that they grow their own produce to use in the meals, it's just an awesome bonus! The facilities are fantastic, the day spa staff are wonderful, the yoga instructors are very knowledgable and made our yoga experience there one of the best every. Some of our group had never practiced yoga before and they felt very comfortable from our first class. Thank you for making our retreat a success, Wayne and Eka, we are so grateful and we will be back!!

I stayed here for three nights at the end of August. As a surfer, I don't think I've ever stayed in a place that better combines access to an awesome surf spot, all the amenities you need, great food, comfortable quarters, and great service. I rented a very high quality surfboard from the warung on the beach. They have a super fun looking skatepark, kids cove area with trampolines, two pools, great food, a little clothing boutique on the property, reasonably priced (and excellent) massages, surfboard rentals and will arrange drivers/rides anywhere. Literally...everything you want (especially for surfers with family in tow), in front of a world-class surf break. At night, the lanterns hanging from palm fronds and the incense wafting through the little alleys makes for such a great atmosphere. The beach makes for a nice walk, lightly developed in either direction, mostly locals flying kites and making offerings at sunset. The gracious, competent and smiling employees represent the best of Balinese culture. Truly a magnificent place. The downside is time I come, it won't be the same. It will be more crowded, likely with similar resorts in either direction, more...spoiled per se'. They will be victims of their own success. They are already building a massive hotel expansion now, and this surf spot is really a small section of reef and can't handle a big crowd. Glad I got to go when I did, and I hope it stays as-is as long as possible.

What an excellent beach resort! The Komune, I enjoyed the chilled vibes by the pool and tasty brunch with friends and family. I highly rate the pig and pineapple pizza, delicious! Thanks you for a great day.

We absolutely rate Hotel Komune at Keramas Bali. We stayed in the new Beach View Villas with an amazing view of one of Bali's best surf breaks. These villas are well thought out and offer everything you need as well as outlets that suit Aussie power adapters which was a plus. Such a great place to stay, all of the staff could not have been any more helpful and the food was perfect. We loved having an afternoon drink or two at the beachfront bar/restaurant followed by a great dinner. The Health club area was great, the gym was very well appointed and the lap pool is an excellent idea. There aren't a lot of resorts around where you can do some good swim training but at Komune Bali it's no problem. I love this side of the island, it's so more relaxed and very easy to get around. We spent a day mountain biking the volcano area and the new Besakih mountain bike park, all within easy reach of Komune. The mountain biking was amazing, and as a avid mountain biker I'll be bringing my bike over on my next trip for sure. I can highly recommend Komune Resort at Keramas, it's fantastic.
