The hotel is in an excellent location on the edge of Ubud and about a ten minute walk to the monkey forest. Built into the hillside, it has good views and amenities including two pools. The room was of an exceptional high quality, large very comfortable bed, good furniture, large bathroom and very large balcony, all beautifully presented and equipped. Above all the staff were excellent and the service top quality. The Café des Artistes, about a 100m up the road, was a good place to eat.
The Komaneka Hotel is set on the outskirts of the village of Ubud in a tranquil location surrounded by the edge of the jungle and rice paddies. Without doubt this secluded hotel has to be perfect for those who wish solitude and a typical Indonesian welcome. Our room was spacious with a Queen sized bed dominating. The bathroom was more than ample with "Jack and Jill" hand basins and a claw legged bath. There is a safe in the room and a dressing room. The windows travel the full length of the room with a veranda overlooking the pool and jungle area. The dining room is on two levels and the food typical Indonesian. We paid For halfboard for breakfast and the choices are endless. If you don't want to eat out in the evening the hotel caters for those who wish to remain but this cost is extra The grounds contain a health spa where a professional message is offered. The area is again extremely peaceful and relaxing. The hotel has two further sister hotels which can be visited as they are close. Each hotel has its own specific manicured gardens which are peaceful and contain many interesting tropical plants. The staff make the holiday. They are friendly, helpful and show a personal interest in every one. Definitely a jewel in the crown of Ubud
This is our second stay here in six months. It is just beautiful, from the staff to the rooms decor, the view, it is just heavenly. You couldn't go wrong here. The serenity is almost unreal. I could go on and on but in one word its unbeatable.
The komeneka resort restaurant "seneng" is really good. As a resort it's on the expensive side but breakfast here was both delicious and comprehensive. They minded our child and we ate with serenity. The staff were friendly and the view spectacular.
I literally can not praise this hotel enough. I have traveled to over 20 countries in Europe, Africa, Central America and South America and this hotel takes the cake. We went for our honeymoon and had a fabulous stay. I notified the hotel we would be coming for our honeymoon and would also be arriving on my Wife's birthday. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the hotel Manager and welcomed with a drink and short overview of the facility. When we walked in our room, the hotel staff was inside with 2 cakes and sang Happy Birthday to my wife. They refrigerated our honeymoon cake and birthday cake. Throughout our stay they would bring us slices of the cake. The place wrote the book on customer service. They way they treat guests is remarkable. They are friendly, accommodating, attentive and respond to any request in a very timely manner. Every meal was exceptional. We did the romantic dinner in the pool villa. The food was a traditional Balinese feast with a private butler, cocktails, wine and the villa was romantically decorated. I would highly recommend this experience. The rooms are charming with views of the pool and jungle. They clean the rooms in the day and come back for turn down service in the afternoon. They also bring by fresh juices in the afternoon. We did a couples massage and it was great. While it's true you can get one in town more cost effectively, the experience was worthwhile. The setting was romantic and they leave you to enjoy the spa privately overlooking the jungle. The property is clean, gorgeous and the infinity pool is breathtaking. The staff helped us plan our days and always welcomed us back with a smile. I was truly sad when we had to leave. Our only mistake was not staying longer. If you are looking for a place to stay in Ubud, you might be realizing there are many options and it is a little difficult to decide. Trust me when I tell you this place will not disappoint. It is a truly a gem. Enjoy!
The operation of this hotel was above our expectation. The greeting by friendly staff explains that you will be treated as family and you are resident in the family property. Males will be addressed as Bapak and females addressed as Ibu. Staff knew our names from day 1, and the various staff continued those greetings every day, at reception, at the restaurant even walking from or to your room. Very Impressive. We come from a country that has a 3 hour time difference and we were able to eat our meals, inline with our home times. That is the advantage of the 24 hour food service, though we managed to eat all our meals in the restaurant, whenever we wanted them. We found that the size of the meals and the variety of food, well suited our appetites and our taste buds, we never left hungry. Compared to other restaurants in Ubud, we found the food costs in the hotel were comparable, if not better, than we expected. The cleanliness of all areas was also appreciated. The 32 guest rooms are all suites and ours was a king room with 88 sq meters of space which was most satisfactory. There are a small number of villas dotted around the property which appear to be more luxurious and private. A walk around the property, is easy in parts and steep in others, but well worth a romantic stroll or an energetic jogging circuit. Though the staff are family friendly, the property does not offer a family holiday, with little or no activities for children. It is really a romantic location. Older, less physical types would look for another Komaneka hotel located on a flat surface (there are 3 others in Ubud), as even a trip to the pool involves climbing to return to your room. The lift does not go to the pool deck. We also found that there are no pool staff to unfurl your towel on the chair, its strictly DIY, just like at home. There are 3 pools, including an oddly obscure, wading pool located on the hill near the staff exit gate and a snake shaped children's pool, lower and parallel to the adults, Infinity pool, located up stairs. The gym adjacent to the Infinity pool, was spartan with a buckled floor in places and looked to be little used. It contained a cross trainer, a lay back seated bike, a treadmill, some pairs of dumbbells, ranging from 1 kg to 20 kg, but the most useful,10 kg pair were missing, an under-inflated, small, Swiss ball and an adjustable bench. The views of the rice paddies are tranquil and the rush of water at the bottom of the property, makes a gushing sound day and night. Also day and night, there are wild animals in the trees outside your room looking for food, e.g. squirrels and large lizards, and even wild monkeys swing through at night. I notice that the turn down service at night, close your curtains and switch on the balcony light. We turned it off on the first night and found we were visited by a few weird calling fauna in the dark. The other nights of our stay, we left the light on, and heard nothing. There is a lot to like about this hotel. We were only disappointed that the level of service was not maintained every day, i.e. when experienced staff had their day off. The other staff tried very hard, but it just wasn't as efficient or polished. Nevertheless, the hotel is highly recommended.
We have just finished a 4 night stay for our honeymoon at Komaneka Bisma. What can we say? From the moment we arrived the place felt like home. The staff are so friendly and attentive, nothing was to much trouble. One day of our stay there was a royal cremation ceremony we were keen to attend, and the staff quickly arranged for some sarongs to be available for us without us asking. The grounds and pool are spectacular. We were in a suite (room 243 on the top floor) and it was huge! No need for a villa if you're just a couple. The room is modern, the amenities great (those cookies! Yum!) and the balcony is enormous and offers the most perfect views of the rice paddies. The pools are great, perfect place to laze the day away. Complimentary shuttle every hour was very handy though the location of this hotel is so good you can walk to town, it's only 10-15mins from the Palace. The food is the only element of our stay that was so so. Breakfast is plentiful and good but we were underwhelmed by food in the restaurant. We would definetly stay here again, it's a wonderful hotel and a true Balinese experience.
This hotel is well-known for its beautiful swimming pool, but there are plenty of other advantages, too. Friendly staffs, perfect housekeeping, calm and peaceful yoga class and so on. I checked in on Valentine's day and the bed was decorated with the heart of roses. We've felt to be cared a lot many times. I thank Komaneka family for their wonderful service.
Loved it! We (a group of 4 girlfriends) have just spent an amazing 4 nights in a Family Duplex Pool Villa celebrating a special 50th birthday.. From the smiling faces meeting us at the foyer on our arrival, through every experience at Komaneka Bisma, we had the very best time. Breakfast by our own pool was our choice each day, and we loved the resort so much we only left once during the day (because we really thought we should wander Ubud proper) and two evenings for dinner. Other than that we enjoyed the beautiful Spa on several occasions, and generally just took in the amazing atmosphere. We will be back! Thank you Komaneka Bisma for a beautiful stay.
We have stayed at Komaneka Bisma for 5 days and it has been absolutely mind blowing. If I could rate 6 stars, I would. The service level is incredible, the staff remembers you and your family by first name, and the food is outstanding. It is probably the highest level of service we have ever experienced. The rooms, the view from the room, the cleaning level and again, all staff members are all amazing. They make you feel like HOME! If I ever return to Ubud, Komaneka Bisma will be my first choice!
