You gotta be a fan of the hot / cold treatment but if you are, this place is for you. Beautiful scenery, soft towels smelling good, 2 saunas, 1 hamam, hot and cold basins... I went there every evening of my stay in Ubud, let me tell you it’s the best way to end a busy afternoon, after that you go for a nice dinner feeling like a new born. I m a total fan ❤️❤️❤️
We just got back form Bali where we had our wedding at Tjampuhan hotel with a 2 night stay. When we arrived to the check in we could not believe the view is spetacular. The wedding packet was perfect and everything went smooth, the service was amazing! We had to move room because the air condition went out and they upgraded us to the Walter Spies house, where we had our romantic wedding dinner with flower decorations all over. The Spa is a piece of heaven on earth with a message overlooking the river. This hotel will always be in our hearts with the amount of service given to us and our children and the most beautiful wedding service. Thank you Tjampuhan
We booked a room from Hotel Tjampuhan for a couple of nights in the end of March which is the end of rainy season in Bali. The hotel looks nice, the pool area is beautiful, the temples are great and the spa is unique. Everything went fine until we woke up the following morning noticing that the roof of our room was leaking, and there was water all over the floor. The management of the hotel handeled our case well, but of course you wish that these kind of things do not happen.
The hotel is located on a steep, lushly planted hillside with a river at the base. Steep steps lead to the scattered thatched villas, all with open verandahs overlooking the gardens dotted with sculptures, lotus ponds & 2 swimming pools. The spa is near the river. The dining area at the top, near the entrance faces the huge trees opposite.
Beautiful hotel lots of history as it was build in 1923 ,amazing gardens perfectly situated just up the street from all restaurants temples shopping. You need to be of average fitness as there are a lot of steps. Restaurant is worth a visit even for outsiders really nice setting good food and friendly staff. All staff members here very attentive and helpful.
We first visited the Tjampuhan Hotel 18 years ago & since then it’s become our second home. It's in a location that cannot be surpassed - on the edge of a gorge above the Wos river - & the property is steeped in history & character. The hotel provides comfortable, clean Balinese-style bungalows with amazing views of the surrounding jungle; plenty of hot water; a great breakfast selection; & staff that are attentive & happy to help if a problem arises. The spa treatments are in a beautiful setting overlooking the river. Our thanks go to Astra, Ngurah, Sudira & Nadi for ensuring our stay was, as always, relaxing & enjoyable. We look forward to returning.
Very disappointed with this hotel. The only plus side they have amazing nature around it, garden is beautiful. The hotel on other side is looks like not doing well. 1st - toiletries - In 4 night stay we only got on the first day 2nd- housekeeping - I don't think they do any cleaning apart from making the beds 3rd- room- ants, black worms , old towers and bedding 4th - service - bellboy haven't left the room until we have him a tips. I thought that was very rude of him. As soon as we checked out the staff stop being friendly haven't offered to carry or even say bye. We booked the driver but they assumed it is Uber as I were on my phone and didn't allow him to come in.we have to walk away from hotel to find him. It looks like this hotel still ruled by old traditions and not willing to be a bit more open minded. If you really want to live in a nature and don't mind dirt and bugs this hotel is perfect , but I do believe it is overpriced. Shame as it could be amazing hotel with better service and a bit more cleaning.
After a very busy few months, it was just a perfect place to relax and unwind. The river flowing in the background, the extremely attentive staff and the wonderful flavours of Bali. We thoroughly recommend this hotel.
This place blows you away as soon as you walk in the place the staff are fantastic and are willing to help were ever they can. You must be aware of the stairs at this place because you will get a work out everywhere you go. The setting of the hotel is fantastic and our room had a fantastic view with the noise of the river running below us. The food at the restaurant was great and at very reasonable prices. The spa is one the best that I have been to with the rock carvings and the river running in the back ground sets the scene for your relaxing massage. We will be back to this hotel as it is reasonably priced with everything that you need to enjoy a memorable holiday.
We stayed here 4 nights, hotel is great but rooms needs attention, we had 3 people yet they only supplied towels, drinks etc for only 2. Had to keep calling reception for towels etc. We had a huge problem with ants everywhere in our room, over our beds, had to be sprayed daily, in the end my husband kept the can and did it himself, our lock to our room broke, couldn't get in, had to be replaced, broken tiles, and bathroom floods with water when having a shower. Quite run down, pictures online are very different to reality... We were quite dissapointed in that aspect. Views are amazing though and food. We paid $1,800,000 per night, should be half that! The rooves need attending too, half missing lol. Staff were nice though. Great place but like I said, needs attention.
