this hotel is just seeped in bali charm. It sings at night with the wildlife and culture. I truly felt I had arrived in bali and was easily able to explore the areas. Staff were friendly and helpful. this is a gem of a hotel.
This place is unbelievable. We chose this hotel because we wanted an authentic balinese feel after spending a week on Gili Trewangan where the accomodation was a little too western. The hotel site is huge. The spar is amazing, restaurant has fantastic views and the food is 5 star. The hotel is situated just off the main road in a forest valley where it gets lost in the trees and animal song. Staying here you wouldn't believe the main road was less than 100m away. It feels like your in the middle of a Rain forest. I will definitely be returning again in the future, without a doubt.
The hotel is set in a beautiful location. However, the pool area is very small and there is not enough sun beds for the guest. The staff doesn't clean the pool area regularly too so there were plenty abandoned towels and drinks around the pool. With only 9 sun beds around the pool and nowhere else to sit - it was hard to relax by the water. The breakfast buffet was pretty average. Bland at times and offering soggy hash browns, potato wages etc. The hotel manager was very rude. As we arrived our room safe was not working. As a compensation I was offered that a technician would fix/replace our safe. Two hours later we finally got our privacy and I asked for a free dinner in return. The manager unwillingly gave us a voucher for a buffet dinner for two. In the evening, it turned out that we he didn't make a booking for us for the buffet dinner because it was "too much" and were offered a set menu dinner. Since we were vegetarian, there was nothing for us to enjoy in the set menu. The manager refused to honour his earlier offer so I asked for an extended check out time by 2 hours which it was exactly how long it took for them to fix our room. At the beginning he refused to do this and told us he didn't care if I report this to our travel agent. Finally he said it was a free favour that we can stay additional two hours. We were staying there for another night and were completely ignored by the staff who knew that we were unhappy so they avoided talking to us. We felt pretty unwelcome there and were relieved when our stay finished. It's a pity because the location of the hotel is beautiful and with a little bit more effort and hospitality training, this would be an amazing venue. It's all good when things go smoothly but if problems occur you are left on your own. I won't be going back.
We arrived late overnight to ubud & to a very friendly welcome with refreshing towels and a drink, we were swiftly checked in & settled in. Being in the jungle area & set in a garden there is a lot of noise from wildlife & we also had what we suspect was a squirrel in the roof however once we were happy that it wasn't going to break in we found the room lovely, it was spacious and clean & the air conditioning worked well. As we were aware from other reviews there are a lot of steps, some of which are quite deep & steep so for those less mobile not ideal or need to consider asking for a room nearer reception. The pool is refreshing and was never overly busy, food was tasty & the spa setting is unreal (the treatment was good too). A little confusion over a cooking class booking was rectified as best the staff could and very pleasantly. Although didn't shop in the market the class we did in.the hotel restaurant was fun & with recipes that could be repeated at home. All in all a lovely stay, staff really lovely & friendly, wouldn't hesitate to recommend and would happily return.
Beautiful location, surrounded by forest and gorgeous views. Rooms were a bit of a hike to get to, but it made it feel like you were the only guests there. Breakfast was nice, as was room service, hotel staff were also very accommodating when we had some timing issues on our check out day. Polls and spas were great also. Shuttle service to town was helpful, though didn't run at many times during the day. Only downside is that the rooms weren't the best quality. Our beds were mattresses perched on wooden boxes that squeaked, and the bathroom was very old.
We recently stayed 3 nights at hotel Tjampuhan & Spa and it was a magical experience. Losing yourself in a labyrinth of little stairways, surrounded by lush green tropical oasis, truly made Tjampuhan feel like someplace imaginary! The traditonally decorated Balinese style rooms (Banyan 5) were exceptionally neat and clean. The service recieved was of the highest standards and all staff interacted with were humble, kind and polite. Highly recommend this hotel when visiting Ubud.
Fabulous setting with views over the gorge and river below. Public areas spotless, breakfast very good, with ample selection. Pools peaceful and clean. Location great, just short 10 min walk into Ubud. The only negative was the room we were allocated (Banyan 5), perhaps it was because we only there for 3 nights, but it was small, poor terrace outside and very dark, had to have lights on during day. If we had stayed longer would have asked to be moved. All in all a pleasant stay with friendly staff.
This hotel has some of the most beautiful hotel gardens in Ubud- I am in love with them. They also have a gorgeous therapeutic spa set among gardens and rock pools, complete with sauna, steam rooms and hot and very cold spring water pools. There is also another chlorine hotel pool and a cold spring water pool for hotel guests. The rooms are decent size but older style and the bathrooms definitely need an upgrade, baths are water stained etc. Bring your own hair dryer and body moisturizer. Staff are friendly and breakfast is reasonable. If you love gardens and and therapeutic springs etc I consider this a good value for money hotel set on the beautiful Ubud garden cliffs! 3.5/5
It is located in a very quiet position. The atmosphere is idyllic! The rooms are big and very clean. The staff is very friendly and ready to help whatever you need! The breakfast is rich and very delicious.
