Arrived at this hotel after staying in Ubud for 4 days. Upon arriving we were told our room wasn’t ready which we were fine with, what we weren’t fine with is the fact that they didn’t even tell us it was ready and just left us waiting to which we had to ask half an hour later! We got up to our room and it already felt unwelcoming. A room where the sun is streaming down so the room was very hot and stuffy. We tried to turn on the air conditioning and it must either be really weak or not working at all. Not very nice having a view of some half built buildings and dirt either. Go into the bathroom and it smells funny, there’s limescale all in the shower, another negative to add to the start of our stay. Contact reception to ask someone to come and clean the room and even after they cleaned it, there was still no difference. With all these things adding up, I don’t think it’s too much to ask for a new fresh clean double room. However they still couldn’t give us that, the staff only could offer a twin room on the other side of the block which we took anyway. One man was helpful and said he’d kindly put a mattress topper on which was nice. The bed was the best bit probably as it was very comfy. In terms of food it was very poor. Even if you come down early for breakfast, things are very much cold and stale. Flies hang around a lot of it too. We found ourselves only ever going to the crepe/pancake station as this was the only way you could have fresh food. One night we decided to eat at the restaurant and see what it had to offer. My partner ordered the calzone clearly stating the ingredients on the menu as we always look at the description of each meal. Not ONCE did it state that there was raw egg in it. After complaining they did give a refund however it changed our mind on eating there again. The location of the hotel is a bit misleading. You’re not sure whether it’s classed as close to Seminyak/Legian/Kuta. We tried walking into Seminyak one day as we thought it would be close but it’s not. The hotel is nowhere near any nice shops, restaurants etc. My advice would be to pay that little bit extra and stay in the heart of Seminyak!

First of all we were delayed by 24 hours and the hotel had kept our booking, the staff are awesome, so frendly and helpfull with every query.We had a great time staying here to food was top notch and although we booked a breakfast we tended to eat here all the time because the food was so good, the rooms were spacious and ac is free, clean and tidy giving good value for money, free safe in the room, its a short taxi ride to the beautiful beach at Legian costing around 3 pounds stirling, the beach was clean and tidy with plenty of food outlets to eat, the only down side are the sellers on the beach-thet do get annoying, local to the hotel there are lots of shops but again Legian and Seminyak are only a 5 min taxi ride away, Bali is a wonderful country and the people are fantastic, we are sad to leave.

First room was in ground floor. The view was just a wall. Transferred to the 2nd floor where there was a nice view. Hotel has a well equipped gym in the 4th floor. Also available on this floor is a Spa. Rooms cleaned daily, with toiletries issued daily, including toothbrushes and a dental cleaning cream. No / limited variety during breakfast

Strategic hotel near food place, the room is good enough but the lighting on the bathroom is not enough, the bathroom kinda dark. Add more lighting will be good. The staff are very welcome and helpful.

Room Look of the room was pretty ok. Personally, we didn’t like Interiors of the room. Placement of the TV near to mirror and light, wall hanging etc.. May be, we noted the differences as we stayed in a resort in Ubud before coming here. Toilet hand faucet had some water problem. Bath area didn’t have a proper draining. (specific to room no. 322). Room was a non-smoking room, but most of them were smoking in neighboring balconies, and we could get the smell even inside the room, which was very bad. Towels were looking as if they were not washed properly for ages. We had a disturbed sleep as you can hear noises outside the room. Amenities Swimming pool was good and maintained properly. Restaurant Breakfast menu was a wide spread buffet, but none of the items kept upto the taste. Breads, croissants didn’t taste good either. Finally, stay here only when you have an entire day outside and coming back only for sleeping.

Overall, great service, great room, good location, great stay! Have nothing to complain about! Definitely will come back again next time I'm in Bali. Recommended for any type of travellers who would like to visit Bali.

We chose to stay at The Fontana after reading the great trip advisor reviews. We were in the Seminyak area for 5 nights and so wanted a good base to be able to visit the local restaurants/shops and beaches. Checkin was all very efficient and quick with friendly staff. The room itself was nice, huge bed, a balcony overlooking the pool (although without any furniture) and a lovely bathroom. Our stay included breakfast which was a buffet style in the hotels restaurant. The choice was large and very varied but there were a few problems. First off they didn't cater for anyone who is able to drink dairy. We asked several members of staff but they didn't have any soya, almond or coconut milk as an alternative which had seems crazy with the amount of people who are now vegan or lactose intolerant. However we did bring this up with reception and for the next few days of our stay they did specially get in soya milk for me. The other thing I didn't like about breakfast was that all the breads, pastries etc weren't covered, meaning flies could easily land on them and you would be none the wiser. This definitely put me off eating any of these items. We were planning on having more pool days but there was only 10 or so sunloungers of which only 2 were in the sun with the rest being in the shade for pretty much most of the day which isn't ideal. Lastly the location wasn't ideal. When we first pulled up at the hotel we were worried as the road itself looks like an industrial estate type road but as we pulled into the forecourt of the hotel all was OK. Location also wasn't great for us, we had to cab it to get to the beach or into Seminyak in the evenings. Luckily cabs are pretty cheap so this wasn't too much of a hiccup. Overall the staff and rooms are lovely and the hotel has good facilities, restaurant, cafe, gym, pool etc but for us, location wasn't ideal, breakfast could of been made better by just tweaking a few small things and the pool area just wasn't well layed out

The staff are super friendly. We were picked up at the airport by June. He was very informative during the ride to the hotel giving us lots of information on the area. We were always greeted by the staff with a large smile and they always mentioned our names. Rooms were clean and serviced daily. Pool was good. Plenty of deck chairs. Breakfast was really good. Lots of selection of Asian and Western food. They had an egg station as well as a pancake and crepe station. We used the shuttle bus to go to the different beaches. No complaints about anything.

We stayed at the Fontana for 2 nights and it is great hotel for budget conscious travellers who still want clean and modern rooms. PROS: - I contacted the hotel a week before our arrival to arrange a transfer from the airport. They responded quickly and confirmed our pick up via email. The driver was waiting for us with a sign upon our arrival to Denpasar. Very professional -- would recommend although Uber is less expensive. - Room was well appointed, clean with a modern style. Also had built in universal outlets which was a bonus - Staff was very helpful and allowed us a later check out - Beds were comfy - Location was good, close to convenience store and we didn't spend more than $5 for uber rides to points of interest in that area CONS: - Bathroom a little dark and don't think ventilation in there is the best -- quite humid and damp smelling but it didn't bother us - Shower water pressure could have been better - Walls are a little thin so easy to hear noises in the hallway and from the other rooms. We still slept fine but for light sleepers this may be a concern Would stay again!

Very nice hotel! Very pleased with everything. The staff was super friendly, rooms are nice with the view of the pool. Pool area is cool with all the plants. It even has great TV channels if you want to just chill (we watched Game of thrones). The is a nice spa on the roof (around 500thousand for two hours massage). Breakfast is also good with a huge rang of what you want to eat, from asian food to fresh pancakes and fruit. But the best part is the restaurant. If you want a taste of western food look no further, we had amazing pasta, bruschetti and pizza. You can also rent a motorbike on the reception for a reasonable price. All in all, great hotel, would stay again!
