Coming from Seminyak to Ubud for one night so we could eat at Locavore, we overnighted at Como Uma. Can't fault the hotel facilities, rooms and gardens. But the staff were really really slow. Check in took 15 minutes. Breakfast really slow service. Porter to get luggage in morning took the same. And front desk didn't answer phone (at 8.30am) so my wife had to walk there to request a porter. The staff were more than laid back; they were very slack
We stayed in a garden villa for 3 nights. We loved the layout of the rooms, the pool and terrace, comfortable bed and massive bathroom - we even had our own fish pond. Staff were helpful and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. Food and drink were excellent, probably the best breakfast I've ever had in the most beautiful setting. Hotel is about 1/2 hour outside Centre of Ubud, it's easy to walk but there is a shuttle bus provided by hotel. It is definitely worth joining in the complimentary hours walk in the morning. We didn't get time to try a spa and the bike tour was fully booked so we used an outside company - would recommend booking tours early with hotel. Transfers too and from airport were organized by hotel and were faultless. I'd definitely stay here again.
We spent a wonderful week here amongst the fantastic trees and plants all around. The cheapest rooms were nevertheless marvellous with comfortable beds, well appointed bathroom, terrace and outside shower. Food is excellent everywhere but especially in the Italian. What makes it really special is the staff - friendly, professional, nothing is too much trouble. And the pool is lovely too. A really wonderful hotel!
The first site of Uma is that it is unpretentious and a surprise set off a busy road. The staff are all charming and make one feel very welcome. The standard bedroom is lovely, with a view of the valley, and the bathroom spacious and well appointed. There are quite a lot of steps for the mobility challenged. The pool is also charming and the adjacent bar staff a joy. Lunches round the pool are excellent and the breakfast is quite superb. The cucina Uma Italian restaurant serves some of the best food in Ubud.
I stayed here with my daughter as part of her 21st birthday holiday present. We were here for 4 nights, as part of a longer trip in Hong Kong and Indonesia, and really could not fault the hotel or its staff. We were warmly welcomed, taken promptly to our room and every query was met with a courteous and prompt answer. We had trips out organised with a local tour company so cannot comment on the hotel's own activities, except the morning walk which was pleasant and well organised. The rooms were comfortable, clean and well maintained. The food for breakfast and at the bar was excellent and we enjoyed the relaxing pool and bar area. Would highly recommend. Good location too and easy to get into the town centre.
Our stay started well, we booked Como Uma almost 6 months ago. We arrived late and were greeted with fresh towels and shown our room. The dinner in Cucina was superb. The room was fantastic, very well appointed with a lovely private pool. It's one of the nicest we have stayed in. The view over the jungle was great. The neighbours however were not - our room was next to a screaming child - for so long we had waited to enjoy the pool and was ruined by neighbour noise. We raised the issue with the hotel and they moved us to a different pool villa. This was fine but the aircon didn't work very well and the outside space really needed some TLC. On more positive note, the breakfast was excellent as were the spa treatments. The hotel did take some money off the bill for the inconvenience of moving rooms during a 2 night stay however only when I suggested it. So overall, a rather disappointing and hassled stay. Any hotel with prices like the COMO really needs to understand the importance of service and guest management. We were not impressed.
We spent a few days this summer with our 3 children at Como Uma and were amazed by the beauty of the place. The rooms are pretty much everything that I hope for in a hotel. Chic and comfortable. The pool and the garden are very peaceful. Food is delicious and staff very friendly and accommodating. Try the yoga on the spa terrace, pretty incredible ! The only minus : it is quiet hard to plan activities ahead with the hotel concierge. Not sure there is one actually. They are not the best at answering questions over mails.
Great food, great staff, great location, quiet, great for relaxing and recharging. Staff was always helpful. Each room has its own porch with a garden closed off so you can enjoy relaxing in private. The breakfast selection was outstanding!
We arrived at the hotel late at night after travelling from Hong Kong, and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly. Our rooms were really lovely, we had a room with beds made up for the children in the lounge, which were really comfortable. Also had our own private pool which they really enjoyed although it was a little cold! The hotel itself is very intimate but well equipped. Breakfast was in a lovely setting next to the lake with koi carp, and the staff gave my children fish food to give them which they loved. Food at the resort was very good and reasonable. Would highly recommend
My wife and I were blown away with our stay at the Ubud Como. Our room with its own private pool was awesome. The food and martinis at the poolside bar were amazing. The breakfasts were first class. The complimentary yoga class was fun and the complimentary morning walk through the rice fields was well worth the effort. We also did a fantastic 25 km downhill bike tour that the hotel booked. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Great value and perfect for a couples retreat.
