Very disappointed with this hotel, our first family trip with our toddler & I did my research and read all the reviews so thought it would of been good and a nice relaxing place to stay, but boy was I totally wrong! When I booked there was a special and I was entitled to a free upgrade. Once arriving at the hotel I asked about our upgrade, only to be told this wasn’t the case as they had no record of it. I had email the hotel to confirm about our upgrade to which I was told the upgrade was included, so I showed them the email correspondence between myself & the hotel, to then also be told they have no rooms available which was a total lie!! Reason it was after 30mins of being there and getting shown our room, I went back to reception to ask how much extra I would need to pay to upgrade rooms, they miraculously informed me we could have another room but would not charge me and just upgrade me. Funny that as 30mins prior I’m informed they didn’t have any other rooms! I also requested for a cot for my toddler and even emailed the hotel and they confirmed I would have one. Once there I was told none available, so our toddler had to sleep In bed with us. Our bed had a mosquito net around it and on the top of the netting there were all dead bugs, along with it being torn and had dirt all over it and all over the bed frame which was quiet disgusting. In none of the reviews or on the hotel web site did it mention just how unsafe this hotel would be for a toddler or child. If I was aware of this I would of never booked. The balcony had a small wood railing that was 30cm high that any child could fall through injury themselves, or even worse as the drop was at least 50m. The bathrooms where all open so not only was it a haven for mosquitos, it was for all other bugs too. The sliding doors to the rooms had a 10ml gap which would allow any bugs to come into your room, along with the windows not closing properly either. The toilet was dirty and shower/bath was covered in bugs. There was also no way you could go out at night especially with a child as it was unsafe to walk to your room, as there was no lighting a heap of stairs, and with it being in the jungle who knew what spiders or other bugs you would face or walk into. I was unimpressed on how I was treated by the staff, and quiet irritated at the massive safety issue, no cot and state of our room, so much so we ended up checking out and staying at a decent hotel!

From arrival we were made to feel relaxed and comfortable. The room was lovely, balcony view of the river was just gorgeous, made better at night with the sound of the jungle. The hotel is a nice walk from the busy town centre, the route taking you around or through the monkey forest should you choose to go through. The hotel meals were some of the best we had in Bali and the service second to none. Poolside drink and food service was amazing and the staff very friendly, spent many days chatting to the helpful and interesting staff. We were there at the time of the initial evacuations due to an erupting Mt Agung, some of the staff being affected by this but seeing everyone club together to help each other was amazing. Must thank Madi for the great conversations and service.

Location by the river was very nice although a lot of traffic noise it was still very lush and night sounds were outstanding. The room was ok. Bed was ok but not great. Very good air conditioning and nice balcony. The restaurant was very nice by the river and the food was very good and reasonably priced. We enjoyed our breakfasts there as well as a couple of dinners because it was so good and priced right. Shuttle to the market was an added bonus. I would stay here again but only for a few nights then move on. The villagers were burning garbage next door every day and it was smoky. So nasty. Not sure if that was just when we were there or done all the time.

As a young couple, we visited the hotel for 4 nights whilst staying in ubud. The setting is stunning, you feel as if youre in the heart of the jungle! Staff are extremely accomodating and the restaurant is reasonable priced. Only downside was the breakfast which could be greatly improved. We paid extra for the river view room and it was worth every penny! Would definitely reccomend.

With a family of four (two kids: 4yr and 1 yr old) we stayed here 3 nights. Positive: - spacious, beautiful and clean rooms - the swimming pool has a big part with shallow water for little children - free shuttle service to the centre of ubud - friendly staff - near monkeyforrest - breakfast is ok, almost the same everyday. - you will encounter lot's of stairs if you ho from the lobby to the restaurant or the pool. An okay alternative for the gym they don't have.

Wauw! What a beautiful spot. The nature is so beautiful, walking around in the garden is so nice. When we arrived the staff was a bit stiff, but that changed when we were there a bit longer. Friendly and helpful staff. After checking in and drinking some nice juice we went to our room. Beautiful, clean and a nice balcony. But upstairs was a better view of the balcony, so we asked that we could change the room into room 114, that was no problem. So kind of the staff. A beautiful big room, good air conditioning, a very good shower, coffee, tea and other drinks available on the balcony. Other drinks for a small price. The breakfast was very good, from Indonesian food to pancakes and from toast to fresh fruit. The restaurant is also very good. Tasteful food and very friendly and interested staff. Two nice swimming pools, one with a bar in it. Tasteful (non) alcoholic cocktails. They have a shuttle service to the centre of Ubud. We had a very good stay here! Compliments. Thank you so much Bali Spirit hotel!

I stayed here for five nights. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I had one massage, which was very average..I was absolutely dripping in oil at the end...I had to scrub myself after to get it all off. The masseuse seemed a bit put out that I asked to take the towel back to my room rather than get dressed again. Food was ok. My room was good, except I had no sleep the whole time...a cat with kittens was in the ceiling and it constantly me owed the whole time every night. A nice place, but I wouldn't stay here again

This hotel is a little oasis of peace set in beautiful well maintained tropical gardens. Most of the public areas are open to the atmosphere, and although the staff are constantly using anti mosquito coils and burners it is probably a good idea to be vigilant with personal insect repellents. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a little way out from the centre of Ubud but there is a hotel shuttle service into town for the guests. This is a great place to sit back and relax and enjoy the beautiful surrondings. As the hotel is on a very sloping site there are quite a few steps to be encountered when moving around, for example there were 20 steps up to our room.

Once again we stays at the Bali Spirit and as always it was superb. The staff were as always very friendly and helpful, the manager is the best and we just loved our room. Can't recommend this hotel enough, the setting is excellent and the pools etc are lovely. We call it 5 star Bali. Can't wait to return to our home in Bali.

Such a amazing hotel. I was little scared when I decide to go for it as it looked far from the centre and all but with a great surprise I am so glad I did choose Bali Spirit to be our hotel. It's only a 20 mins walk from the centre and the walk is just so cool. You pass through great restaurants around and cheap and tasty. You pass (around) the monkey temple which means you don't need to spend Rs 50000 to visit the temple. All monkeys comes around you anyways. Except that the hotel it self is GREAT. You feel like a king with the suites with the balcony. Clean room and bathrooms. We had a big bug on top of our bed during the night but we manage to throw it out. That's not a big deal coz the surrounding is harmonious with great vegitations. Far from the pollution and noises Breakfast is yummy (I miss my Nasi Goreng😔). Swimming pool is huge and hardly anyone. Personnels were kind and very helpful. Good job Bali Spirit. If one day I pass by again, I will definitely go for it.
