Such a amazing hotel. I was little scared when I decide to go for it as it looked far from the centre and all but with a great surprise I am so glad I did choose Bali Spirit to be our hotel. It's only a 20 mins walk from the centre and the walk is just so cool. You pass through great restaurants around and cheap and tasty. You pass (around) the monkey temple which means you don't need to spend Rs 50000 to visit the temple. All monkeys comes around you anyways. Except that the hotel it self is GREAT. You feel like a king with the suites with the balcony. Clean room and bathrooms. We had a big bug on top of our bed during the night but we manage to throw it out. That's not a big deal coz the surrounding is harmonious with great vegitations. Far from the pollution and noises Breakfast is yummy (I miss my Nasi Goreng😔). Swimming pool is huge and hardly anyone. Personnels were kind and very helpful. Good job Bali Spirit. If one day I pass by again, I will definitely go for it.
Staying in Bali Spirit is being part of the natural Ubud atmosphere - the area is very green and there is also a nice river just in front of the hotel. The balinese theme of the hotel males it very magical and the staff is very kind. We were very appreciative that we could have an early breakfast (@ 6am the meal was in our roon) - as our transport was arriving just after it. I strongly recommend staying with them.
This gem is nestled in rainforest along the river Was, just 2 kms south of Ubud. The staff are very friendly. The hotel restaurant offers reliable, tasty food. Rooms are always clean and spacious. There are two swimming pools and a swim up bar. There is a free shuttle to town, or you can walk up through the village and monkey forest. Ideal for those who want to escape the hustle of Kuta or the expense of bigger hotels.
Spent three nights herecat evend of our three month trip around S.E.Asia. Could not fault any aspect of this place from the friendliness amd help given by the staff in oodles to the wonderful facilities. The restaurant should you choose to use it serves great food. Even though it was very quiet all facilities were open and serviced by the lovely staff. The poolside pizzas even made us remain all day by the pool !
This was our first holiday as a family of 3, we were travelling with our 4 month old and we had the best experience! The hotel was spotless, the staff were so kind & helpful all the time, the pool was very clean and we had no concerns taking our little one in for a splash. We will be back one day that's for sure!!
This was our third stay at the Bali Spirit Hotel and certainly will not be our last. We have another stay booked for later this year already. The hotel is situated on the edge of Nyung Kuning Villlage and is an easy, peaceful and picturesque walk to Ubud through the Monkey Forest. To walk to the edge of Ubud through the Monkey Forest is an easy 30 minute stroll and another 20 minutes into the heart of Ubud itself. A lot quicker at a brisk pace, but why rush when there is so much of nature to absorb. There is also a regular free shuttle and for a very small fee the staff will drive you outside the shuttle times - about 10 to 15 minutes in the shuttle bus. The buildings and grounds are perched between the forest on one side and a small free flowing river on the other - I think it is Desa Singe Kerta Desames (sincere apologies to all if that is not correct). In the early mornings and at dusk the poetic sounds of the forest mingle with the delightful laughter of local children as they play and wash in the river. We have always stayed in the Legong Suites, which are situated closer to the road on the higher ground and are more of the traditional Balinese style than the newer buildings further from the road. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. The air conditioning works well, and the ambiance from the spacious balcony enchanting. Breakfast on the balcony is a real treat. The room is supplied with an electronic mosquito zapper, but perhaps bring a mosquito coil for the balcony. We never noticed any problem with mosquitoes. The main swimming pool is clean, refreshing and inviting. The restaurant by the river offers a wide and varied menu and the meals have always been delicious. The gardens are well laid out and well maintained. Lots of stairs due to the hilly terrain but to us this only adds to the overall enchantment. At all times we have found all the staff to be extremely friendly, helpful and willing to go out of their way to make sure we received the maximum from our stay. Highly recommend it. Quiet word to management - it would be a shame to see electronic noise take over or interfere with the natural sounds and serenity of the forest and the setting.
We arrived at the Bali Spirit to a lovely reception, the rooms are set amongst lush gardens and a wonderful river which makes you feel you are deep in the jungle. Rooms are amazing, decorated with local stone carvings and paintings. The pools are clean and a refreshing change to the humidity and heat. Food was well presented and very well priced. Hotel driver does regular drop off and collections into town. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Couldn't fault it, they even upgraded us to the Honeymoon suite so we could experience a different room with a different view.
We stayed for five nights in July 2016 in a Legong Suite. Our first couple of nights were in the older suites that are on the level below the main check in area. These are spacious, and have beautiful doors, however the bathroom is dated and the bed was so firm that I couldn't sleep - which is very unusual for me, I actually tried taking the cushions off the couch the second night, and sleeping on those, on the bed. (They used a sheet of plywood instead of slats in the four poster bed.) However this was quickly fixed when we spoke to the manager, who transferred us into one of their new suites. These are further away from reception - but closer to the pool and restaurant, have a new modern bathroom and new bed. They are smaller, but we were happy with the trade off. Overall, beware that there are a LOT of stairs, which you can't avoid as both the pool and restaurant are in the lower parts of the resort. We didn't mind, but something to beware of. The walk to monkey forest (resort side) is about 15 minutes, but it will take you more like half an hour to get to the bottom end of the main road. The resort does operate a shuttle, which is very handy as it drops you in to the main intersection in town. As there is often a lot of traffic, you may end up waiting a while if you're waiting there to get picked up - don't assume you've missed them - they're probably just stuck. There is a great vegan restaurant across the road, Sage, if you want a change.
Set just a 15 minute walk away from The Monkey Forest and Main Street in Ubud. We loved the tranquil setting and the fact it was typically Balinese. Again like other reviews we found our allocated room to noisy as it was close to the busy main road, however we were moved to The Tantra Suite which was perfect. The staff were friendly and helpful. Dinner was reasonably priced. Also we had a pile of laundry washed, again this was very reasonable.
This hotel is our favorite in Ubud. The location and the setting are superb. The service is excellent and the food is great. Can't think of a better place to stay at in the area. We will be going there again as a first choice since we've tried other places.
