This was a perfect get-away spot! It's a small house, tall and narrow, but beautifully constructed, with lots of little nooks that make great use of the space. The same can be said of the kitchen, which despite being quite petite was one of the best-stocked I've experienced in a rental home—my husband and I had everything we needed to cook up a Thanksgiving dinner! Dianne was a gracious, accommodating and communicate host. Highly recommended for a couple or small family group.

What a great weekend getaway with my family! The house was stocked with a few games, Legos and lots of beach toys. The kids bikes fit my two kids well and we really did not need to bring a thing for the kids but food and clothes. The beaches were beautiful and pretty empty. We joined the Shoals Club for the two days. We felt like it was nice but unnecessary unless you plan to eat out often. It’s always a big plus when the beds are comfortable and we all found that to be the case. We’d definitely come back!

Great house for a couple's getaway! It is in a great location on the island with quick access to everything but also still with lots of privacy. Dianne was one of the best hosts I have stayed with - super accommodating and quick to respond.

Lovely stay at a wonderful cottage hosted by the most responsive property owner. Beds and pillows were comfy, golf cart was new and in good shape, kitchen well equipped and loved the convenient East Beach location. Family was super pleased with our stay and expect to return again!

Wonderful Week with an Unbelievable Host

Since it was just my wife and I, I will limit my review to a couple. This house is perfect for a couple. It is just the right size where neither gets in each other’s way. The master bedroom suite is quite large with a very comfortable king bed, and the shower in the master bath is large and excellent. The house is very well stocked with excellent quality cookware. If you enjoy East Beach and the Shoals, this house is perfect. It is literally a Two minute drive to the beach entrance . Now, let me tell you about Dianne. She may be the best host I have ever had the pleasure of working with. She replies almost instantaneously and if there is any issue she gets it resolved immediately. Her advice and guidance is right on. If I could give her more than 5 stars, I would.

Mother’s Day Weekend Getaway

We had a wonderful stay. We came to BHI for a 3 night Mother’s Day getaway. The home was exactly what our family needed. The location was great and the house was well stocked with everything we needed for our stay. We will definitely look to stay here again.

Relaxing, worry free stay

Shell Cottage is in a quaint spot in the woods, yet only a few minutes to the beach by golf cart. We found the place quite comfortable and in immaculate condition. We'd stay there again!

Nice stay at Shell Cottage

Shell Cottage is a lovely home on a quiet street on BHI. It worked quite well for a couple visiting the island for a long weekend. Owner was super communicative, quickly responding to any inquiries. Cottage was clean and nicely furnished. Master bed was very comfortable.
