One of the oldest luxury hotels in Bahrain. Renovated several times. Over 10 restaurants thai, japan, turkish, etc. Cigar lounge. Nice spa. And very nice staff. Nice location near Adlyah Which is full of higg end restaurants
Very good Hotel, full of services and very nice hotels inside. The men club with a perfect gym is one of the diamonds of this place! Very new, clean and fashion rooms. The only thing that maybe could be checked is the noise at night with the music alive from the Mexican restaurant downstairs.
We have been visited with friends 2days ago Oak lounge had an excellent time and staff are outstanding and extremely friendly with helpful in every way possible, we had a top quality of facilities. Especially if you are staying at Oak lounge very comfortable and nice selection of whiskeys. We were very impressed would love back again due to the friendly staff & great service at luxury lounge. By the way new stuff Eastern Europe lady very friendly and atmosphere are so relaxing and quiet enough relaxed over there.
Stayed here on a business trip in a deluxe room. The room very spacious with high levels of internal decor. The bathroom was again spacious with separate shower and bathtub which was deep. The reception has perhaps a pair of the largest chandeliers I’ve ever seen and a lounge area with new sofas and table service for coffee etc. A very wide selection of restaurants on the ground level with about 10 to choose from if I recall correctly. The hotel make an effort and seems to have activities going on lost lights with tribute bands etc. Negatives - the water coming out of the tap was warm but not hot enough to have a bath as the taps are slow and by the time you’ve filled it up lots of it was tepid. I did mention this to the reception desk but here not much they could do in he evening. The TV in the room was offline too, I didn’t say anything s I didn’t have much time to watch it, however someone should be doing pre-checking checks in the room to ensure it’s ready for customers. The Philippino ladies at reception are very chirpy and Happy, which stands out to the other female and male staff who seem a tad too serious and not as approachable, especially the Eastern European lady running the coffee area this Sunday - who seemed a bit distracted and annoyed to be there. You can’t get a set packed lunch to go from the restaurant only things from the lunch menu which is very annoying as the dishes aren’t r ally suitable for a boxed meal; expected more to support business people. Rooms provide tiny bottles of Bvulgari shower gel, lotion, soap, toothbrush and paste and razor with cream. Overall a good hotel at a sensible rate.
I used to go to the Oak Lounge in the Gulf Hotel all the time. They have great service and the cocktails there were the best on the island. I bring my friends there that show up new to the island and we always have a great time there. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, the new management decided to stop serving cocktails, or at least won't focus on cocktails anymore. At this point it's almost not worth going there with friends anymore.
I spent couple of days in September this year, at the Gulf Hotel for a conference - I was here earlier in 2010 and nothing much seems to have changed since then. Nice comfortable rooms but a bit old fashioned. The hotel hosts several restaurants and the high point of my stay was dinner with friends at Rasoi by Vineet, I would rate this as one of the best Indian restaurants that I have been to!
Thank you mr. Kevin ( manager of the restaurant) and anna ( the best waitress ) always ready with orders with big smile on her face so i would love express my much appreciation to all of you guys and best of luck
I spent 3 nights in this hotel .. as i heard it was recently renovated and and actually got nice .. check in was fast, room is spacious and with high sleeping quality .. breakfast is remarkably well I really wanted to thank HASSAN on the reception desk who was a major help
Our company has conduct an international conference in Awal Ballroom last week. I want to say that the service we got was great, we had the chance to have Mr. Suleiman as our Banquet Supervisor, lets say he have shift the rating from good to excellent, he was very helpful, understanding, with excellent hospitality. The help and support that he provided to the team and guest was great. we enjoy our time there along with the marketing team, engineering team, room service, and waitresses, all of them were good team and on spot. we are looking forward to our next event with Gulf Hotel, and specially work with Mr. Suleiman.
I came for business a few days ago. I sat down in your lovely looking lounge to enjoy some quiet peaceful time and smoke a cigar and drink some whiskey. Alas it wouldn’t be so. When asking your waitress for a good whiskey to drink, she didn’t seem to know anything at all. In fact she wouldn’t even speak to me and grabbed the bartender from behind the bar to discuss whiskey with me. He was very knowledgeable but also super busy and it was strange that a waitress working in a speak easy type setting wouldn’t know the first thing about whiskey. Moving forward, I asked to look at the cigars and another woman, who’s name I didn’t catch, but she was short and blonde attempted to show me the cigars but when I asked her where they were from and to show me a smooth yet robust cigar, she proceeded again to grab the bartender from behind the bar while he was in the middle of making drinks. I would think for a cigar and whiskey bar, you would have employees who are more trained to help your clientele when they’re asking for specific advice. The management seemed disorganized and very aloof of the clients needs. I will not be coming back or recommending this bar to anyone. I would also go so far as to say that the second woman who “helped” me was very rude and uninterested. It was a very upsetting visit to say the least. I don’t normally leave reviews for anywhere but I felt this bar deserved to know what exactly it’s lacking.
