A very big hotel with many guests staying for one or two nights only. The Maritim hotel is an extension to the former communal Badehotel of the town Bad Wildungen. Wellness facilities are good including a beautiful indoor pool (28°C), Sauna etc. Breakfast was adequate but dinner had the quality of a better canteen. Our room was good with a bathroom incl. separate shower and bathtub. The TV was being changed during our stay from an old fashioned tube TV to a flat screen. All in all we were satisfied with the place and would come again in future.
The hotel was quite a surprise when we arrived with spa, pool and our room was quite spacious. But with no air conditioner or fan, our room on the top floor was very warm. Breakfast at EUR17.00pp was a little steep, so we skipped it. May have been good but the day before we had a lovely schnitzel each and drinks for less.
Stayed for one night. The room was very small and had a very bad smell and very old fashion. What surprised me the most was that a wellness hotel allows guest to smoke in the hotel bar. This was really a big surprise for me. We had dinner in the restaurant and that was oke but didn't have any class.
Our group stay here in September, for 10 nights, everyone agreed it was the best Hotel they had ever stayed in. From the. Manager down, all the staff were excellent , food excellent, Location fabulous. Highly recommended.
We stayed at this hotel for 1 night as we toured Germany. From the outside it looked impressive as did the reception area. It was only when we ventured further into the hotel to our room that we were hit with the overwhelming smell of cigarettes. I thought the whole of Europe was smoke free in hotels and public buildings but obviously some flout the law regardless. The only thing that can be said about this hotel is that the restaurant, the staff and the food were very good.
This is a huge hotel set in lovely parkland and near to town with a free bus service to the town. It is a spa town with the biggest "kurpark" in Europe, there are lots of clinics and spas in the surrounding area. The hotel serves buffet style breakfast and dinner, with excellent food, though the water is very expensive and tap water is not available. Rooms are spacious, beds comfortable .Staff are pleasant and helpful and the manager is very much in evidence.
Spent 1 night at this hotel visiting a relative at one of the many clinics in town. I had a single room on the ground floor with a balcony and plenty of space. Decor and furniture is a little dated but everything was spotlessly clean. I had a problem with the free wifi as I seemed to be unable to connect properly. Breakfast buffet was generous and varied. Good location being within 15 minutes walk of the Old Town and pedestrian precinct. Would stay there again.
My room was a single room with a balcony and a view over the hotel grounds in the second floor. The amenties were in a good standart to a Four- star- hotel. The bettclothes are very fresh and you can get a bathrobe wen you will go to the pool.W-Lan is possible.
Stayed for one night and I was very impressed! The room was well equipped and clean if not a little dated, really could do with a modern TV etc but apart from that I really can't complain! Hotel facilities were very impressive, good gym, excellent swimming pool! But best of all was the food, an evening meal that could match any good restaurant and finished off with a top breakfast! All the staff were friendly and very helpful. When I stayed the clientele seemed more of a mature age, not sure if its always like that but definitely very quiet and relaxing, but not lively!!
We booked two rooms, just to spend one night on our way back to Holland. Although the hotel and its rooms were OK and had everything one could expect from a mid-class price hotel (clean, good beds, etc), we had to pay an extra €70 or so for breakfast and parking. Which made this hotel all in all overpriced. Moreover, although this is a " welness-hotel", the extra facilities were no more than one could find in any other mid-class hotel. This is not a good hotel for families, as the average age of its visitors is much higher than we'd anticipated. We would not visit this hotel again.
