I’ve stayed at Amainah Bacalar several times since they opened and generally enjoy coming back. The location is great, the adults-only atmosphere keeps things calm, and overall it’s a pleasant place to stay. That said, there are a few things that keep it from being a 5 star experience. The balcony doors really need screen doors. In a place like Bacalar, you can’t leave them open without ending up with mosquitoes in the room, which is frustrating and easily avoidable. What pushed this stay to a solid 4 stars was Pablo at reception. He was genuinely helpful, attentive, and made the check-in experience smooth and welcoming, which makes a difference. Overall, a good stay with room for improvement, and I’d stay here again.

The staff was amazing! The room clean and spacious. The food was great, specially the octopus. We enjoyed the jacuzzi which was a free room upgrade. We had a lovely morning watching the sunrise on a kayak mid lagoon. Definitely recommend this place

The highlight of our trip to Mexico! We were warmly welcomed with an early check-in and a complimentary upgrade on arrival. The room was beautiful, with a spectacular view of the lagoon.
