Wonderful hotel, built back in 1892 so that it's rooted in history. Steps away from the harbor, half a block up a steep side street that's far quieter than those running parallel to it and closer to the all the cafes, bars, and souvenir shops. Don't expect luxury, there's not even an elevator. We had a third-floor room with a view of the ocean, with two reading chairs to enjoy that view and a very comfortable bed. Ample bathroom & all very clean & tidy. At the end of the corridor, a wide porch with lounge chairs & sunlight. Staff exceptionally nice. We will stay there again next time we have the enormous pleasure of visiting this enchanted island.

Ocean view was fine. Room was clean when we got there but absolutely no service!!!! Lucky to find someone at the desk but had to come down and ask for clean towels. What ever happened to being on Vacation going out for the day to come back and find you room clean, bed made, fresh towels and garbage empty. I am finding more places now that the service is gone!!! Such a shame!!!

We appreciated the peak-a-boo ocean view. Lots of work needs to be done at this hotel to make it a pleasant overnight experience. It is very small, old and rundown. The staff was often unavailable but pleasant and helpful when on duty.

We enjoyed staying here! The hotel is quite old, with a lot of character. The room was very, very small, so be prepared for that. Everything was clean and had a nice, clean smell. Sadly, there was no coffee in the room or even in the hotel! That's almost a deal breaker. Also, no fan in the bathroom which sucks but is kind of common in hotels. The staff were all very good. The view was excellent - right out to the harbor! It's also only a half block from the main strip/beach so you can't get any more convenient! The value was really good so if you are trying to stay on a budget, this is a fantastic option.

A delightful stay

The ocean view was lovely. Short walk into town. Quiet and slept very well. We did not need the AC, the weather was perfect. The hotel is over 100 years old hotel and decorated old Victorian. The service was excellent and the rooms were very clean.

Room - No room service, no air conditioning, ceiling fan did not work, WIFI connection was slow and dropped out often, the TV remote did not work, the key card did not work half of the time, there were no amenities (no coffee or tea service in the room and no microwave to heat water or food), No coffee or water in the lobby, there is a low-income apartment building next to the hotel so any sea breeze you get smells like marijuana, the toilet did not flush properly. Their is a security door on the ground floor to keep non-guests from accessing the hotel rooms and patio area, but the staff props it open during the day for their convenience and does not shut it at night so anyone can access the hotel (a drunk bum came into the patio area making a bunch of noise on my first night at 1:00 am). I had to shut the gate myself every night after that. Service - What service? Like I said, there is no room service so if you stay more than two days you will have to hunt down a maid for clean towels. Maids only work between 9:30 am to 12:00 pm. This is important because the hotel does not staff the front desk. The hotel advertises the front desk is staffed from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, but this is not true. Every time I went to the front desk, there was a sign that said "On Break...call (xxx) xxx-xxxx if it is an emergency". A number of the other guests complained about it as well. Location - No real view of the ocean, but the hotel is fairly close to the beach and shopping.
