We went to our room and had a view that can only be described as “below the parking lot”. We immediately requested a room change or upgrade and we were told that “ this is the kind of room you get with Expedia” and there were other rooms available, but at a much higher price. That was a slap in the face, and immediately gave us a bad taste in our mouth for the entire stay.

On the website the property looks gorgeous. I thought I was in for a upscale getaway to the beach to relax but the entire hotel was filled with children and families. The staff seemed young and inexperienced. There is no indoor pool or spa. Also it seems like when you book with expedia you are destined to get a room by the elevator. Hotels have no respect for you if you book through expedia. We did not receive any complimentary bottle of wine like Expedia listed. Overall I feel ripped off by the prices without any amenities. Avalon it self also sucks! Nothing is ever open and everything is always sold out. Save your money and go to an all inclusive.

Overbilled & No blankets!

Front desk immediate ominous mention that I booked 3rd party at check-in. Front desk said would send up items, did not and then phone dead in the evening. unable to get simple item as blankets so the kids were cold all night. At checkout, folio couldn't print at check out and now seeing that I am OVERBILLED. 3 times reached out to correct and have had to get my credit card company involved. have been here before but this visit disappointing.

I loved staying here and will come back. My only gripe is that they don’t have an organized process to get your bags In and out of the hotel. To get my bags in the hotel the receptionist asked me to go to valet but there wasn’t anyone there. Two patrons helped me carry my luggage in (I had my 16 month old baby with me.) Checking out I called 30 minutes ahead for someone to help me take my bags to the car, no one came and I ended up doing it myself with my toddler. I did see employees walking around with hotel trolly carts but when I needed it I didn’t get the service. Other than this the stay was great.
