Great building and facilities, BUT with some serious design issues: (a) only 2 elevators: 10-20 minute wait times!, (b) tiny gym: only for 5 people, no floor space, limited equipment, (c) small pool area. The should first fix the basics, and only then focus on selling the club.
well located with access to many restaurants, bars, clubs and shops in Austin
Modern , well located property with all basic amenities. However, maintenance could be improved. Towel holder was coming off the wall and screw was coming out the shower faucet. Reported to the property via text with no acknowledgement. The sales pitch was excessive. I’ve received non stop calls on Saturday morning trying to sell a time share. It is completely unacceptable to call a guest at 7-8am with a sales pitch. I’ve stayed at 3 Wyndham properties over the last year and 10am checkout policy is not guest friendly and outside of industry norm. The staff did not care about my previous business with Wyndham, refused late checkout request and ignored maintenance issues.
I loved that it had everything that a home has. It was clean & all staff was attentive.
Liked: size of room, style of finishes Disliked: elevator wait times, long walk to coffee shops
Quiet, Kind of off the main center of action. Parking seemed high. Lots were never full.
Pool, skyline, large room . Zack st guest services was the best at taking care of our specialized wedding needs.
The Wyndham Austin is actually a timeshare property. Kind of odd that Orbitz does not make this clear when booking. The only drawback to that is that the sales staff tries to pitch attending their information session. We were pretty firm with them that we didn't have time. We got several phone calls, which we just did not answer. Otherwise, this was a GREAT place to stay! Awesome location. Brand new everything. Our room was actually more of an apartment (I read that it was a condo project that was purchased mid-construction by Wyndham) than a hotel room. It had a fully stocked kitchen with new appliances and a washer dryer. It also had a nice little balcony with an awesome view. The clubhouse is also very nice with two computers to use and a printer. We didn't use the pool, but it also looked nice with an infinity edge overlooking the City. We would come back, but would prefer not to have the hard sell.
The kitchen had so many pleasant surprises! We brought our own food and saw that the cabinets had pots and pans, dishes, silverware and even every imaginable piece of utensil. It made it so easy for us as we did not have to run out and get anything. There was also an empty pitcher in the fridge that we put water in.
