The Space:

Designed by architect Ron Seeto, Welcome Cottage embraces Wabi-Sabi living — warm timber textures, handcrafted details, and spaces that invite you to slow down. It feels intimate, creative, and calming, with outdoor living at the heart of the experience.



Move easily between soaking in the cedar spa, warming up in the barrel sauna, sharing long dinners beside the outdoor fire, or unwinding in the private guest cabin. Every corner is made for switching off.

Welcome Cottage is a guest house situated on the owner's property.

Welcome Cottage sits in a quiet pocket of Surfdale, one of Waiheke’s most local, lived-in villages — loved for its cafés, easygoing energy, and central access to the rest of the island.



A short walk to:

Surfdale Village – wine shop, takeaways, dining

The Annex – beautiful brunch and lunch

Surfdale Beach – sheltered, great for kids + SUP



A short drive to:

Oneroa Village – boutique shopping + dining

Surfdale is centrally located with easy transport options.



Buses run regularly between Surfdale, Oneroa, Onetangi, and the ferry

Taxis & shuttles operate island-wide

On-property parking is available

8 minutes to Oneroa

12 minutes to Onetangi

6 minutes to the passenger ferry at Matiatia

10 minutes to the car ferry at Kennedy Point



Other Things to Note:

Bedroom 2 is in a private guest cabin with access to the outdoor bathroom



Welcome Cottage sits on the owner’s property, but all cottage spaces are fully private



The property runs on rainwater tanks, please conserve water during your stay



Minimum stays:



7 nights mid-December to mid-January



3 nights all holiday weekends



2 nights at all other times



Interaction with Guests:

The Stay Waiheke team is available 7 days a week from 8:30am–5pm, and for urgent after-hours issues.
