This place is a little gem!! Our 4th time staying here. Family with young children. The rooms are always clean and functional with tea/coffee and toiletries etc. Although parts of the hotel appear run down in some areas…(just paint work etc, they really aren’t where it matters!! It also gives the hotel its character. Strong showers, great beds and pillows, spacious rooms. Very clean. Pool is always clean. Staff are super friendly. Restaurant is super handy and chef is so knowledgeable and accommodating. They will always have the sport playing if it’s on. Drinks and food reasonably priced. Parking is free and plentiful. There is a really nice bakery and Pizza Hut just 100m up the road if you need a snack or something extra for later. Highly recommend. Will book again for our next trip to AKL.

Booked the motel unit with 2beds but when I checked in they said theres no available motel units. They have upgraded my room to what they said a better one but only with one bed 🤔 and one bed will be in the living room which i said no. Have found cockroach on the floor, so checked out at 11pm was about to tell the front desk about my experience but no one in the reception, called them and they said to just leave the card on desk😕

Nice size rooms. Plenty of tea and coffee but was hot and couldn’t get the cooling fan to work. Found a big white tail spider in the bed. Staff were very friendly.

The hotel is older and quirky but the rooms are comfortable and clean. Unfortunately the people in the room before us smoked in the room, selfish!! So it reeked but that’s not the fault of the hotel and they were very apologetic. Couldn’t change rooms because everywhere was booked (Metallica!!) but with the help of a little fan thing and leaving the door open we got rid of the smell eventually. Staff were all lovely and super friendly. There was a shuttle that took us to Eden Park for Metallica at no extra cost which was awesome. Walk back in the rain was manageable especially after a few drinks haha. Would definitely stay again if we need to go to an event at Eden Park.
