We have stayed in a few Quest Hotels so we know the quality and cleanliness of the rooms is always good. When we read the review I was a little concerned as someone said it was noisy and as I am a light sleeper I was a little concerned. It was definately not noisy infact I was impressed at how quite it was and had 2 great nights sleeps.
Some have said its in a strange lication. I disagree, its near parnell/ food/restaurants etc. Any nearer it would b more expensive. Were in an apartment, sobown cooking facilities and washing machines/condenser dryer - v handy for our 5 day stay. Generous room size, large bed, freshly changed - not made - each day. Complimentary tea coffee and milk, free unlimited wifi. Lift, large concierge with friendly helpful staff. Breakfast in cafe below. A bit noisy at the front but clean and tidy throughout
My wife and I stayed here for one night whilst attending a concert at Spark Arena. We payed $400 for one night accommodation in a one bedroom apartment. Reception staff was friendly and efficient. We were quickly given our room key. We were allocated a room on the second floor facing the front of the building. The room was fairly modern. Large king size bed (two singles pushed together) Two large armchairs overpower the small living area. Kitchenette with dishwasher. Washer and dryer in bathroom. Nice touch to put two mini kit-kats in the room (Thumbs up) Some dirty crockery in the drawers. One bowl with a huge food stain on it. Room cleaner clearly missed this one by a mile. The room was really let down by the shower. Very Poor water pressure ! If you are paying $400 for one night the best you can do is have a great shower. I have had better showers in a backpackers. There is a TV on the living area wall which can partially be seen when lying in bed? Despite the provision of earplugs by the bed, which is a little worrying, there was little noise. The boy racers outside did a couple of wheel spins but left shortly so no problem. The location is very good for access to Spark Arena, although please bare in mind it is next to student accommodation and the gas station. Both these are negatives when walking back to the apartments late at night. When we walked back after the Queen concert there were lots of boy racers in the gas station carpark. There was quite a few intoxicated students shouting in and around the area. Although we did not feel threatened in any way, my wife felt very uncomfortable. I can imagine women or young girls walking back at night may similarly found this uncomfortable. Checkout was easy and reception rang for us a taxi (James) Thank you but please smile and be a little more happy to guests. Always goes a long way. Impressions count! Value for money? No - overpriced at $400 a night Would I go back again or recommend? No - There are plenty of cheaper options with better facilities around Spark Arena.
Stayed here for business having previously stayed here and enjoyed it. Front desk is minimalist, with not a huge amount of tourist info, but the staff behind the counter are always happy to help. Great cafe next door and could charge back from restaurants up in Parnell. Wifi a little bit slow and air con a bit hot but on the whole very comfortable for a business trip.
Slow/unsecured wi-fi was the biggest issue I faced during my stay. I struggled to get on wi-fi time to time and the speed was not up to standard. Also, our apartment didn’t have a safe to store important documents. We hoped for a Queen/king bed, but instead we got two single beds attached to each other as a result, bed was very uncomfortable. Other than that, our apartment had a nice kitchen and clean laundry.
Stayed overnight in a studio apartment which did face the road and was a bit noisy but had a comfortable king size bed, clean and modern bathroom with large shower and everything we needed for a very cheap overnight stay in Auckland. Carparking was $20 extra on site. Walk to Parnell village for breakfast and $6 Uber fare into the city for dinner and shopping. Perfect for us.
Located in corporate office park and just out of range of Auckland CBD. No restaurants or supermarkets close by. Noisy due to trains and traffic from major roads. Ear plugs provided. Clean and reasonably appointed. Took a long time to check in due to errors made by inexperienced staff. However helpful and provided information when asked. Ok for 1 night.
Very happy with my 1nt stay. Room had everything I needed and I loved the mini kitkats with my cuppa. Great selection of movie channels and bed was very comfy. First hotel I've ever stayed in that had earplugs on the bedside table...no I didn't need them. Have stayed in other Quests and no ear plugs there!! Really good idea I thought. Just a couple of negatives...teeny tiny towels big enough for a child, would pack my own next time. Also my wifi wasn't working. I was patient and tried off and on for an hour before I called down, spoke to a lady who was less than helpful. "Maybe you've used up your limit she said, yes you have an unlimited usage I replied and secondly I havn't been able to get on yet, and yes I am on the right provider and this is what it says". She put me on hold a couple of times and the second time I waited for 10mins then hung up. I thought she'd call me back as she had my room number but No! I do remember her name but will not name and shame. If you could maybe mention on your website the 2 restaurants are actually closed on the weekend as it's a corporate area I heard the receptionist tell other guests as I was checking in. Bottom line I enjoyed my stay.
Apartment was excellent - very clean and bed was comfortable. We had a one bedroom studio- had everything you would ever need. Car parking was easy - for an extra $20. Car park was secure and beside apartment. Great location for shops in Parnell. Good price. Definitely would stay again.
First time staying at a serviced apartment. Booked Saturday and Sunday night. Been told via email that I couldn't check-in earlier than 14:00 otherwise a $35 charge will apply. Arrived the area at about 15:30 and received a phone call telling me the reception would close at 16:00. So basically there's a 2-hour check-in window, first time I've ever heard of a 2-hr check in window in all these years of travel, even hostels are more flexible. So good luck if you travel far from Auckland. Went to the room and discovered it was a handicapped room, if a different room type was to assign to a guest, it should be communicated either at time of booking or upon check-in, they failed to do so and reception said they were full. I insisted and they managed to find the "last room" that I originally booked after a 10-minute wait. There's no room service on Sundays, it is written on their website, however room rate doesn't reflect this. Enquired at reception on Sunday hoping to get a late check-out on Monday morning, been told to call the manager after 7am on Monday morning. I guess the whole idea of late check-out is to be able to have a sleep in not having to worry about getting up at 7am? Called reception on Monday morning, been told late check-out will attract a fee of $30/hour. There goes my sleep and late check-out. Nevertheless, the room was very well appointed, fresh and modern. Bed was comfortable. Internet was fast and reliable. The GYM (Next generation) they are affiliated with was the highlight of the stay. I guess it all depends on what you are after, it definitely doesn't offer the same level of customer care as normal hotels. It seems that all the rules and regulations are designed for money making and ease of operation, with no flexibility on guests' side whatsoever.
