First time staying at a serviced apartment. Booked Saturday and Sunday night. Been told via email that I couldn't check-in earlier than 14:00 otherwise a $35 charge will apply. Arrived the area at about 15:30 and received a phone call telling me the reception would close at 16:00. So basically there's a 2-hour check-in window, first time I've ever heard of a 2-hr check in window in all these years of travel, even hostels are more flexible. So good luck if you travel far from Auckland. Went to the room and discovered it was a handicapped room, if a different room type was to assign to a guest, it should be communicated either at time of booking or upon check-in, they failed to do so and reception said they were full. I insisted and they managed to find the "last room" that I originally booked after a 10-minute wait. There's no room service on Sundays, it is written on their website, however room rate doesn't reflect this. Enquired at reception on Sunday hoping to get a late check-out on Monday morning, been told to call the manager after 7am on Monday morning. I guess the whole idea of late check-out is to be able to have a sleep in not having to worry about getting up at 7am? Called reception on Monday morning, been told late check-out will attract a fee of $30/hour. There goes my sleep and late check-out. Nevertheless, the room was very well appointed, fresh and modern. Bed was comfortable. Internet was fast and reliable. The GYM (Next generation) they are affiliated with was the highlight of the stay. I guess it all depends on what you are after, it definitely doesn't offer the same level of customer care as normal hotels. It seems that all the rules and regulations are designed for money making and ease of operation, with no flexibility on guests' side whatsoever.

Stayed there for a couple of nights and everything was good. Quite handy to town, parking was in the building (although it is an extra charge hence four stars). The room was tidy with everything you needed in it and we could have comfortably stayed there an extra few nights. I would call the bed medium firmness but it was a comfortable sleep. Didn't notice much noise from the road etc. I would stay there again.

I stayed here for a solo long weekend away and it was great for what I needed. Convenient walk to the city, great price and the apartment had everything I needed. The noise is noticeable like other reviewers said, but the facility provides two pairs of earplugs and with headphones in and window shut it was fine. My room was serviced daily and cleaned well. Being apartments it was nice to have other families and couples staying there versus partygoers etc. The Subway and servo across the road is very convenient. Only con would be the WiFi dropped out all the time across 3 days. It was definitely the WiFi because my phone worked fine on all other public WiFi in the city (Wendy's, Maccas, Sky Tower and Sky Bus free WiFi all worked fine). I would be happy to return in the future.

Service was awesome from reception staff. Room was spacious for my fiance and I. Well equipped kitchen and bathroom was roomy. Location was perfect too espc for those who don't want to travel too far to get into the CBD but not be right in the middle of the city because of congestion, foot traffic etc. WiFi was surprisingly fast for a hotel in comparison to other CBD hotels I've stayed in, which was good. The only complaints I'd have is the noise, I felt like we had the windows open the whole night because we could clearly hear everything from outside. Also, the $20 parking fee is a bit excessive but to keep my car safe in town I had to pay. Would still stay here again.

Stayed 2 nights here. While the staff were friendly and the rooms clean, we found the first night noisy with trucks. The second night (Friday) the local hoons decided hold a very noisy meet choking the surrounding streets with extremely noisy cars. On a positive note it is not a long walk to the CBD. Ratatouille

Haven't stayed here yet but word of warning for corporate guests.... The accommodation is paid for by my employer but they want personal credit card and ID supplied prior to the visit - in case I have a party and trash the room !!! Wouldn't be staying here if I could get out of it......bureaucracy gone mad.

My husband and I stayed at Quest Carlaw Park mid May as we were delivering a full day course at the Auckland Conference Centre. The conference centre is right across the road from Quest Carlaw. The one bedroom apartment met our needs. It was reasonably priced and, you can cook or heat meals in the unit.We made full use of the washing machine and dryer while we were there. The room was serviced before 10am, which we appreciated. The room was very clean with good furnishings. We weren't so impressed with the two cafes that were closest to Quest Carlaw, but it is only a five to ten minute walk to the Parnell village, where there is a vast range of cafes and restaurants. The reception staff were cordial but you could hardly expect them to really go out of their way as you are not staying in a five star hotel. I would certainly stay at Quest Carlaw when working at the conference centre.

Handy to university. Easy parking. Good for business people. The student village is very close by. I am guessing that is why they provide complementary earplugs .... which I didn't need at all on the Friday night I stayed there

I have been using this hotel on and off for a couple of years and it is far and away my preferred apartment hotel in Auckland. The staff are friendly but not intrusive. The apartments are more spacious than in others nearby, with good lighting and ample supplies and they are always spotlessly clean. The little extras--good quality toiletries, little snack, ice in freezer--contribute to a sense of welcome. It's beginning to get a tiny bit shabby, but this will not stop me choosing it over others in future. If all hotels were this good, I would be a happy traveller.

This is not a top hotel but it is very good for the price you pay here. Extremely tidy and clean reception area the room was small but comfortable and did not feel too dated at all. If you need a kitchen this would be all you require. Nice big full length window and I appreciated the full length mirror too. Perfect location for us and just a $6 uber to to the power station. Would stay again. Free WIFI
