Very clean and kid friendly, I highly recommend this hotel whether it’s a business trip or just plan family fun. I’ll definitely be coming back to stay at the Tru by Hilton just a wonderful overall experience
The hotel is clean and modern. The breakfast selection is good. The rooms are smaller than normal, but the 55 inch TV makes up for it. The hotel lobby has a game room with a pool table which was great for entertainment. I was very satisfied with the price I paid and what I received in return.
Nice clean place. Very small rooms with loud thru the wall A/C units. European design "efficient" and "cheap" all the way. It's OK for a one nighter, but I'd steer clear if you have a choice. Pick the Hilton Garden Inn for the same price.
My stay at Tru was nothing but amazing. From all the colorful, space-age decor to the comfort of the bedding. The customer service was the icing on the cake. The on-site snack shop had a variety of scrumptious treats. Perfect!
Unfortunately I was disappointed by this stay. My first experience a couple days earlier was absolute perfection but in this stay there were old towels hanging up in the bathroom (not mine) that by the time I discovered them I chose not to report it because I had already been sleeping in the bed and preferred blissful ignorance over the alternative that I had slept in a dirty bed. Also, if it wasn’t for the extended safety feature on the door serving as an additional deadbolt, some one would have intruded into my room a half dozen times. Through the night someone kept opening my door (and thankfully being hindered), and housekeeping ignored the do not disturb sign on the door and opened the door scaring the bejesus out of me. It was because of housekeeping ignoring the sign that I realized it was indeed someone opening MY door through the night instead of a neighboring rooms door opening and closing periodically. On the bright side, their doors are super secure and the HBO channels were perfect for catching up on Game of Thrones just in time for the series finale. I wish I could say this experience was a good one but it held no comparison to my first stay.
My expectations were exceeded with the breakfast and room. The breakfast was way better than regular hotel chains. Eggs tasted like eggs and area was very clean. Loved the availability of hot tea, hot chocolate band coffee. Loved the pool table and board games and sitting area in he lobby. Very contemporary and nicely decorated - cozy and felt like being home. Nice smell in lobby area. Thanks Fred for calling me to let me know my room was ready by 1 pm like you said you would after we arrived at 12:15 pm for early check in. Nice clean gym facilities. Loved NO CARPET for my allergy sufferers and this is a NO PETS hotel - Yipeee! Didn’t like the fact that the fitted bed sheet on both beds were turned on the wrong side. Made us think they were never changed. Also on the 2nd floor maybe the rug got wet outside the elevator since the smell was a bit musty.
Stayed overnight for a graduation trip. Rooms nice and clean and staff was great. Very friendly staff quick to get you checked in. Pool table was an added bonus and rooms and bathroom very clean. Common area nice to relax in.
This place is so comfortable and so convenient. We had one incident prior to arrival when the desk clerk refused to help us BUT upon arrival the manager made it more than right. I’ll stay here whenever I’m in Auburn.
This is my second time in a Tru and everything was exactly the same. The room was kind of spartan without a closet or much furniture (just a narrow strip along the wall, barely enough to work on a laptop). The point is for guests to gather in the lobby rather than staying secluded in their rooms. At least the king-sized bed was comfortable. The bathroom was small but adequate. The floors are bare (no carpet). Breakfast was fine. The location is in a shopping center on the edge of town - a little difficult to get there (don't take the highway entrance ramp). I would recommend it as long as you're ok with the idea of staying in a trendy, millennial-friendly hotel instead of a traditional one.
Enjoyed my stay at the hotel. Main complaint is that I was able to hear my neighbors arguing until around 1:45am - I heard all the dirty laundry and was even afforded the opportunity to listen to the serenity of bathroom breaks.
