It was an amazing okay experience however the fire alarm went off and people were exiting the hotel but at no time did th staff of the hotel come to us and say that it was not an actual emergency, my mother had to go back inside the hotel and ask one of the staff members that was standing around. It was convenient for where it was located and it was a good price. Overall it was just an okay experience

Great price, friendly helpful staff, good location. Nothing too fancy here, but it was everything I needed for a 3 day orientation at Auburn. I was surprised to find a mini fridge and microwave in my room.

We were in Auburn for a camp my daughter was participating in. Microtel served it's purpose. A room to sleep in and a nice hot breakfast. The check -in desk could be a little more inviting. The lobby is very dark and uninviting. A one night stop or last minute booking it's a good hotel.

Celebrating our anniversary and the staff gave us a upgrade to a suite. Very friendly!!!!

Lower end hotel but clean and great staff. We came here due to an evacuation so we went fr low cost. Pleasant stay and again the staff was very flexible in dealing with our situation

Cozy and very clean units, restaurants and shopping ctrs nearby. Decent continental breakfast, courteous and helpful staff. Comfortable bed, clean and nice appearance.

i have stayed her a few times but each time is worst than the last. first, i also end of the same room which has a broken shower head and crack floor tiles. the shower drains slowly and the toilet has a running water sound. the room is very small and stuffy. the hotel is outdated and need a renovation badly. there are no elevators in the hotel ad i had to drag my language up the stairs while being weak from a sickness. breakfast was a joke. i tried to eat but the food was bland and under whelming. at least the staff was friendly and nice.

Most Microtel I've visited have been clean and updated. This was neither. Not recommended, at all.

The stay was fine. Nothing extraordinary, but nothing bad happened either. Older building. No elevator but it's only two floors and I imagine they have the handicapped access rooms on the first floor.

Enjoyed our stay. Room was clean and staff was super friendly.

My family and I stayed two nights. This is nowhere near the level of hotel that most Microtels typically are. The one in Opelika is MUCH nicer. Rooms, sheets, etc were not noticeably dirty but had a grimey "feel." Breakfast was atrocious. Staff was helpful at times, nonexistent at others. I will say that the man at the desk was extremely gracious when I asked if he could help jump my car off. The wife left our lights on. Other times, we just couldn't find anyone to help. The hotel is just "fine". It won't kill you to stay here, but don't expect anything. You're paying a cheap price and you're getting a cheap room. Having said that, next time I'll just lay the extra $10-15 and stay at the Opelika Microtel.

We chose to spend the night in Auburn to avoid an early-morning drive from Birmingham. For a one-night stay, this was an acceptable option. Our room was small but clean and comfortable, and the complimentary breakfast buffet offered plenty of choices and tasted good. There was no coffee maker or microwave in the room, which was not as was described on this site. And the room just really needed a little bit of maintenance attention. The shower curtain was too short, and the rod (one of those arc style types) was coming loose from the wall and sagging, which meant the curtain would not stay put at the ends of the shower...which meant water got all over the bathroom. The room's door handle was also a little difficult to operate, and the whole assembly was a little bit loose in the door. Finally, because this is a small property which had no elevator, the doors to the stairwells were propped open. While I'm sure the management sees this as a convenience so guests can find the stairs, this is almost universally a fire code violation.

My experience was pleasant. The desk clerk was helpful, and even asked if I preferred a room downstairs or upstairs. The housekeepers were consistent in exchanging dirty and clean towels.

Hotel is quite convenient if you are traveling along I-85 or visiting university......room was small but comfortable.....traveled with kids so wish there had been a pool.....breakfast was yuck even for the usual quick breakfasts you get at this type of place so beware of that!........

We paid for 3 nights but only stayed for two. The staff was unfriendly, the sheets were nappy and old, and towels were frayed. The walls are paper thin, so we could here people walking around late at night. The outside door was not locked, so people could just walk in. The bed was comfortable, but the bedding was very old.

The Microtel Inn was filthy, the carpet looks like it hasn't been clean in years. Holes in the wall and other area of the wall was patched. We have stayed at many hotel/Inn and Suites and I can tell you this was the WORST!!

Clean, accomodating staff, and great location for Auburn activities. Basic room but comfortable. However ... I made reservation through travel site and did not pay attention to or missed the fact that I had a smoking room. Clean but definite smoking odor. Hotel full so couldn't switch until 3rd night. Staff did best to help. Be aware when making reservation!!!

room was suppoused to have a microwave , at checkin was told micros are only in double rooms , breakfast was not good , go accross the street to the waffle house

Room was nice for the business traveler right off i85 , close to shopping . Rooms dont have micro like described

This was my second stay at this property which we originally tried after a bad experience at a competing "economy brand" place across the street. The rooms are not huge but are stylish, modern, clean, and comfortable. There is a padded "reading nook" in each room above the AC unit in front of the window and it is a perfect place to spread out your luggage without using bed or floor space. We have a student at Auburn University and even though this hotel is a few miles south of campus it is also a fraction of the price of the closer-in properties, and from reviews I've read, it is also in much better shape. On this stay, I was concerned when I walked down the hall to my room after check-in, because someone was smoking up a storm and the hallway reeked of cigarettes. However, I was relieved to find that my room didn't smell and as long as the door was closed the seal effectively kept my room free of the stench. In all fairness, we didn't experience this hallway smell on our first stay. There is plenty of safe and well-lit parking, and getting in and out of the property is easy. A car is necessary if you are planning any campus area forays. On both trips, the staff have been friendly and helpful. Remember to bring your own travel size shampoo however; there was none in our room on either trip. Again, this is still a fair tradeoff given the low price for such a clean new room...especially since Walmart is just across and up the street! I will definitely stay here again.
