Great hotel - area is on the edge of the good area and the not so good area. Rooms are good but breakfast is mediocre when it comes to fresh fruit - but besides that it was great :)

Hotel is about a 25 minute walk from the acropolis and other tourist destinations which was ok during the day, but we were warned by several taxi drivers that our hotel was not in a safe location and we should not walk around at night.

Hotel is not in a safe neighborhood so you can’t walk to places after dark. Fine hotel but terrible location. In addition concierge was very curt and not helpful.

Swimming pool is TOO SMALL. Breakfast is good. Air conditioning temperature is set centrally for all rooms, you can't change your room's temperature. Location is OFF the main streets....

We Had two nights stay there. The view was amazing. Thank you Damitrou ( i guess that was the manager's name on duty). Easy access to Taxi, metra staion and walking distance to many different types of restaurants. One could literally walk to some of the tourists attractions and way back to hotel visit to market of athens like Ermou, plaska. I would surely go back if i were to visit Athens again.

Excellent hotel with very happy staff and hospitality. Love to visit Athens will go back again and stay here.

Impressed with the looks of hotel. Wish the area was nicer. My phone got stolen and although the staff was sympathetic and tried to be of assistance We would have felt better if they were more responsive to check cameras right away instead of waiting a day and if all cameras we positioned to check all seating. Also if the police could have come to hotel to place a report.

Location of the hotel is not good. At the evening, you don't feel scure outside. Not a good place for an evening walk. Sauna is only for 3 people, 4th one can't be fit. Whenever I went to sauna to use, it was always full. Also the spa hours is ridiculous, between 11am - 8pm; you can't go to sauna or massage before you check out in the early morning. The worst thing about this hotel is the internet access. It has protection filter so if the page contains any word which was suspended by the server, the server doesn't let you connect to that website. So the hotel management chooses which is "safest" website for you. Also the wifi speed is unfortunately so slow. I will never stay in r this hotel again.

The barhroom with no good lightning and log hairs in the floor

A pleasant stay, room only with Acropolis views. Otherwise a great roof top.

Excellent Service and Accommodations. We only stayed for one night (stop over on the way to the airport), but when we arrived late in the evening the Wyndham Grand Athens was just what the doctor ordered. Large room, shower, complementary water/fruit, comfortable bed, robes, and quick room service. Wish we had a few more days to stay there.

Quite by chance, we found ourselves staying at the hotel during its Grand Opening Celebration. (We chose it through Orbitz, based on price, not knowing it had just opened several weeks earlier.). Everything was new and sparkling clean. The room was larger than we had expected in a downtown hotel--and very quiet. The bathroom was superb--lots of space in which to move around. The bed was comfortable. The staff could not have been more attentive and service oriented. The company closed the bar and restaurant during the big, public opening celebration but the guests were all treated (on a complementary basis) to whatever we wanted to eat from the room service menu. We will look at this hotel first on our next trip to Athens.

Dear Guest, Let us thank you for choosing Wyndham Grand Athens for your stay. We appreciate the positive comments regarding the hotel premises and the breakfast buffet. However, your feedback about the fruit will be taken under consideration for further improvement in order to enhance our buffet that already counts more than 60 food choices and local specialties. The area of Metaxourgeio is an up and coming neighbor with great food corners and descent cafés, right next to the famous see-sights of Athens. We are really looking forward to welcome you back again in our premises. Kind regards, Spyros Ioannou, General Manager

Dear Guest, First and foremost, let us thank you for having chosen Wyndham Grand Athens as your home away from home in the city of Athens. We are pleased to read that you were satisfied with our modern rooms, general cleanliness and tasteful breakfast. As far as our location is concerned, the area around Metaxourgeio has never been one of the most picturesque districts of Athens down town. Yet, it has never been a dangerous area either. Globalization is a topic which concerns the whole planet and in Metaxourgeio’s case it works in favor of hosting immigrants' small businesses and residency needs. Metaxourgeio is one of the old neighborhoods of Athens that during the last years has been reconstructed and evolved into one of the most developing districts of Athens with excellent bars, awarded restaurants, one of them being Funky Gourmet which is one of the best restaurants in Athens awarded with 2 Michelin stars and several theaters such as the National Theatre. We apologize that we did not meet your expectations to the utmost and hope we have the opportunity to accommodate you again in order to ensure your next stay is much more satisfactory. Kind regards, Spyros Ioannou General Manager

Dear Guest, First and foremost, let us thank you for having chosen Wyndham Grand Athens as your home away from home in the city of Athens. We are pleased to read that you were satisfied with our renovated hotel. We are surprised by your comment regarding the attitude of our concierge staff. We generally receive very complimentary reviews on the level of professionalism and friendliness of our colleagues. Nonetheless, we thank you for sharing your observation, which we will utilize as a tool in our coaching efforts. Dear Haya, We would like to thank you for taking the time to leave your review and praising our general cleanliness, tasteful dishes and attentive staff. The area around Metaxourgeio though is part of the center of Athens and is a vivid, affordable and therefore multicultural and tolerant part of down town Athens with lots of Asian eateries (located on the hotel's street), lots of trendy bars (spread on the streets behind the hotel), a Michelin star restaurant ("Funky gourmet") and some of the most important theaters ("The National Theatre") just a couple of blocks away. Once again, thank you for taking the time to post your review on Orbitz. Kind regards, Spyros Ioannou General Manager

Dear Mr. Emre, We appreciate you taking the time to provide us with your review. Regarding your comments about our spa we would like to let you know that we are currently trying to make some important improvements to our spa facilities to make sure we guarantee our guests the best quality of relaxation and comfort. As far as our location is concerned, Metaxourgeio is a safe area and although is it one of the old neighborhoods of Athens, it is has been reconstructed and evolved into one of the most developing districts of Athens with excellent bars, awarded restaurants, one of them being Funky Gourmet which is one of the best restaurants in Athens awarded with 2 Michelin stars and several theaters such as the National Theatre. It is worrying to hear that you mentioned you had issues with the wifi connections. We have a large network of wireless routers and boosters which cover every area of the rooms and the hotel itself. We require this network for all of our guests traveling on business as it is an absolute necessity for them. We would also like to address your comment regarding the restriction of some websites. Wyndham Grand Athens may remove, block, filter, or restrict by any other means any materials that, in the hotel's sole discretion, may be illegal, may subject the hotel to liability, or may violate our Terms of Use. If there was any website that is not considered illegal and you would like to visit it, we would have appreciated if you would have notified the reception about this issue so they could solve the problem at once and give you access. We apologize that we did not meet your expectations to the utmost and hope we have the opportunity to accommodate you again in order to ensure your next stay is much more satisfactory. Kind regards, George Margaritis General Manager

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking time to review Wyndham Grand Athens. We were most disheartened to read your comments. We have taken all your comments on board and will look into them in greater detail with the housekeeping department. We do wish this matter was brought to our attention during your stay in order for us to solve the issue immediately. As far as the are is concerned, Metaxourgeio may be one of the old neighborhoods of Athens, but during the last years has been reconstructed and evolved into one of the most developing districts of Athens with excellent bars, awarded restaurants, one of them being Funky Gourmet which is one of the best restaurants in Athens awarded with 2 Michelin stars and several theaters such as the National Theatre. Despite these, we hope to have the chance to welcome you again to our hotel. Sincerely yours, George Margaritis General Manager
