Perfect walking distance to food, shopping and sites

The room we had was clean and very quiet, not a disturbing sound can be heard at night. Front desk staff was courteous and helpful. Breakfast room was bright and tidy, with good variety of breakfast items. Hotel is close to subway and tramway stations with trains that bring you to different parts of Athens and a little beyond.

Front desk staff was extremely helpful when a port strike upset our travel plans. They went the extra mile to help us cancel a reservation on an island we could not get to due to the strike.

Great location! Friendly staff with 24 hour open office

Is a very nice hotel next to the Acropolis and the night life of athens but i believe the price is a little bit high. For sure is worth it but you may get accomodation near for better price.

the hotel is 5min walk from the acropoli metro station, plaka, acropoli enterance. loved the location. hotel is clean. rooms are very roomy and clean. no complain

The hotel was in a great location. It was clean and pleasant. The service was helpful. The hotel was a good value considering all aspects.

Staff were very nice and the location is good. The room was fairly plain but the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was tasty.

If you are looking for a hotel that is near the Acropolis and the new museum, then this is the place for you. You are literally two blocks from everything. It's great for a night stroll to see the Acropolis or to spend some time strolling through the Plaka. If you are looking for a relaxing hotel with great rooms, then this is not the place for you. The rooms are very small. It was difficult for two of us to even move around in the room. It was also very hard to keep the room cool. We had to open windows to sleep because it was so warm. The continental breakfast is good, but not extensive. Our overall experience was good, but would have been better to have a bit larger room.

This place was incredibly friendly. They helped me find a great place for dinner and insures that I didn't get lost.

Very close to Acropolis, very friendly and helpful staff. My room was small, but had a nice terrace. Complimentary breakfast was ok. I wish they'd had real orange juice and not the acidic concentrate ubiquitous in many hotels. Very good value overall. Near metro station (Acropolis).

We stayed one night at the Hotel Philippos after our cruise ended, and were soooooo glad we found this gem of a small, almost boutique hotel within a hopping distance of the Acropolis and the most wonderful pedestrian street filled with shops and restaurants. The hotel is sparkling clean marble throughout the lobby and small breakfast area. Contemporary feel. The staff were nice. We were given a fabulous room (ask for 601!) that had a humongous balcony with lounge chair and table/chairs for sitting outside in the quiet evening and watching the moon drift over the hills. The Hotel Philippos is in a residential area right below the Acropolis ((about 4 blocks away), so busy street noise was at a minimum, and the air conditioning unit in the room blocked any leftover noise as well. Nice sleeping! We left too early to experience the included breakfast buffet sadly. BUT, the bottom line is that we would return to the Hotel Philippos in a heartbeat if we return to Athens. Being able to walk to small shops and lots of restaurants, as well as being able to see the Acropolis from our balcony, as well,as the sparkling clean accommodations, as well as the intimate boutique feel....what can I say? Excellent hotel.

Very nice room on the 6th floor with wonderful balcony with view of the Acropolis. However, paper thin walls, could hear the conversation from adjacent room. Can't beta the location though - easy access to Metro and historic site sin central Athens.

I joined a group tour that selected the Phillipos Hotel. The Hotel itself is Spartan but clean. The staff bends over backwards to make your stay comfortable. They could not be friendlier. But the real selling point is being a couple of blocks from the Acropolis and the Plaka. You can walk anywhere from here. If you want to upgrade in quality and amenities, try their sister hotel, the Herodion just around the block.

Hotel was very conveniently located near Metro Red Line Akropolis station, Akropolis Museum, restaurants recommended by Rick Steves and Lonely Planet, and the Akropolis itself. We upgradted and got a room with a very small balcony and a view of the Akropolis. Internet access was satisfactory and the breakfast was continental and adequate. Could not push the two beds together, but we managed.

location couldnt be better. larger than most hotels we've been in in europe. free breakfast was nice. very clean and staff was super helpful.

OK. So, My friend and I traveled to Athens from Japan. We looked all over the internet for a good hotel and Philippos was the best one we could find. It definitely stood up to its reputation. First off, the location was AMAZING. Totally amazing and pretty safe as well. Getting there from the airport was a breeze. We ended up taking the 95 bus to Syntagma? Square station and then transferring lines to go to Acropolis station - only about a 5 min walk from the hotel. When we got to the hotel, the staff was so friendly and helpful! And our room was beautiful. We stayed on the 5th floor and had a huge balcony and a view of the acropolis (blocked a bit by surrounding buildings). The included breakfast was super delicious as well! Within about a 10 min walk from the hotel were a small grocery store, cute cafe's and at least three bars, shopping, the acropolis :), a bank, the new acropolis museum, the jewelry museum (SOOOO PRETTY) and a bus stop for the hop-on hop-off Athens's city tour. I would totally recommend this hotel for anyone!!! The only thing is, it's not really handicap accessible. we didn't have a problem, but to get to the reception area you have to go up about 10 stairs. We actually ended up going back again at the end of our trip as well! Check in is usually at 2, but they had a room ready and let us check in really early. it was on a smoking floor though... but to our surprise, the room smelled just fine :). we were really really pleased with our stay and would absolutely stay there again in the future.

Philippos Hotel is located literally steps away from the New Acropolis Museum and the Acropolis! Views from the balcony of our room overlooked the Parthenon and beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was very good and the staff was very helpful with everything from getting our internet to work to questions about how to get from here to there... We stayed here both at the beginning and end of our trip and would highly recommend anyone to stay there.

The hotel is average, but the location is awesome.

This hotel advertises air conditioning but it is not turned on until the end of June. It was 86 degrees when we arrived and no air. Bring your own wash cloth. They are not supplied. You will also need a electrical adapter for your small electrical applicances. As a whole the hotel rooms are clean but small and the hotel staff is very helpful. Breakfast surpassed all the other hotel breakfasts we encountered on our trip they supplied all types of breads, cheeses, eggs, fruits, juices, cereals, meats, yogurt just about anything you would want. The hotel is in a great location. And on a quite street. In walking distance of most sites. We would recommend this hotel for singles and couples.
