Great customer service , reception staff very nice , price fits with the service , very close to monasteriaky square and something we really really appreciated was the free use of a cell phone inside our room we could also take with us go on internet and make calls . We will come back!
The hotel location is fab. Very close to everything but abit scary as it is on a small quite street that is not lite up that brightly. There is no lobby area nor a breakfast area. I had the single bedroom, which is too small (no room to move once the suitcase is out) and I am only 5feet tall and sz 10 UK. There is no hair dryer, but the hotel does have a mobile phone device for you to use to get around the city. The room is clean, the mirror is not near a socket. The staffs are friendly and helpful
Really very good .excelkent staff .Theodor Johnny the girl in the morning very very helpful .by mistake I reserved a little economic room it was too small the didn't have no oroblem and they upgrade a paid the difference and the room was great .super clean and confortable. Location superb .and again the staff very very good. Center of plaka .you can go walking everywhere especially acroplois very close .clise to subway station .really a wonderful experience .
The location of this hotel is excellent: on the edge of Plaka and only a stroll to Syntagma Square or Monastiraki but without the roaring traffic. The rooms are simple but have everything you need. I opted for a superior room and got: a very clean bathroom with good shower; clean comfortable bed; space for my things; tv with Greek channels and BBC News; mirror; small table and chair; kettle and cup; bedside lamp; aircon/fan/heat. Optional safe. And even a fridge! Hairdryers can be borrowed. The staff are charming, polite and helpful. I highly recommend it if you want somewhere clean, safe and simple. But not for you if you want lots of amenities, a dining room or luxuries. Or a lift. NB if you're a light sleeper, read about the cathedral bells.
This small hotel promises exactly what it offers: perfect location between the Plaka and the "modern city", basic but comfortable and clean rooms - and 24 h friendly staff. From the roof top you see yhe acropolis and the cathedral. Only point to bear in mind is that no breakfast is offered - which is not a problemat all due to the dozens of cafes and restaurantsvthat are around. I just moved to a 4 star hotel in another part of Athens, and am already missing the Kimon!
Firstly I would like to say this hotel has to receive 5 stars for its location and incredible value for money. It is right in Plaka which is the touristy area so you are just a few minutes walk from the Acropolis and so many lovely shops and restaurants and is it such good value for what you get. The staff were lovely and professional, the room whilst small was very well kept and cleaned daily. However there are several things to consider before booking here. Firstly there is no lift and no ground floor rooms. Not a problem for us but if you have problems with stairs you may need to think carefully before booking here. Also, I could see no Fire Escape and the only entrance was through the Reception area so if a fire should start in reception I don't know how anyone would get out. Every room does have a balcony and there is a roof terrace so you could probably flee to one of them until rescue came. There is no bar and no breakfast with the hotel. Not a major issue as there are so many places nearby to get food and have a drink but sometimes it would be nice to just relax in your hotel bar and it's a shame this place does not have one. Finally, the hotel is VERY close to a church which rings its bells very loudly every hour but for some reason the bells peel 39 times (we counted them) at 7:30 every morning. Great if you want an early start to explore but if you want a lie in then you've come to the wrong place. All in all it is a superb place, very quirky and they give you a mobile phone full of information about Athens to take about with you. It's location and value are phenomenal but pay heed to my above comments.
We spent our fist three nights in Greece here. Kimon was a perfect base to see the ancient sites of Athens. We easily walked to the Acropolis, the Agora, etc., and strolled around Plaka and Monsteraki. Great way to love Athens. The hotel was comfortable, spotlessly clean, with wonderful terraces overlooking a quiet street. The front-desk staff were always friendly and quick to offer advice and help. We'd definitely recommend Kimon to any friends visiting Athens.
An excellent budget-priced hotel, with many amenities - comfortable beds, spacious rooms (ours was a superior room om the first floor), fridge, en-suite facilities - need I say more? There is a delightful roof garden / terrace, lovely for pre-prandial drinks, with views of the Acropolis (at one end). The location is central. close to cathedral, Plaka and Syntagma Square. No meals are provided but there are restaurants and tavernas in abundance close by. Downside? No lift, but friendly and obliging receptionists to help with the luggage up step staircases. The trek to the roof garden is a tad trying for the elderly, but well worth the effort. For breakfast try the Chandelier tavern, just down the road and round the corner.. Basic meal of fresh orange juice, coffee toast with cheese and fried egg will cost €5, whilst the upgrade to toast and honey and yoghurt and fruit is a mere €7.
This was a very comfortable stay and we re so happy we chose this room. The room is small but we'll suited for all our needs. We weren't planning on staying in the room too much bc we d be too busy exploring plaka and all Athens had to offer. Perfect place. Staff very attentive, kind and hospitable. The location was perfect as you Re so close to everything you d want to see while on your stay in Athens. I'd come back.to this hotel without hesitation. The bed and pillows were comfortable and that's key as we were quite jet lagged and.needed our rest in comfort. Good value for.your money and their terrace has a nice.view of the Acropolis! Highly recommend. Thank you for a great stay!!! Shanna and Kevin
This hotel has an excellent location right in the center, just a few minutes from Acropolis. Very clean, nice staff, comfortable beds and pillows. Rooftop terrace has a nice view, however I felt awkward going there since the tables there are right in front of other people's windows. I paid extra for superior room, however the room me and my wife got was disappointing. Very small room, tiny balcony and even smaller bathroom with shower that was leaking our whole stay. This room should not be offered as superior room - it sure felt like a basic economy room. Nevertheless, we had a good stay.
