Of the hotels we used in Athens on this trip the Evripides was the best among hotels of its kind. The street surroundings left a bit to be desired but the friendly and willing service was very good. Breakfast was excellent and the views from the dining room and rooftop recreation area outstanding. Would recommend to travellers with moderate budget who want comfort and friendly hosts.
The room and its facilities were all OK. I would prefer the highest floors due to some outdoor noise. This is generally the case in the big city. Perfect location with passage of narrow streets with nightlife on the way back to the hotel from the center in the evening. The 7th floor was a lovely breakfast area due to the view. Food was OK. Very few visitors to the bar.
Stayed for 4 nights with 12 year old son. The hotel it's sf is fantastic. Nice small room with goid hot shower. Small balcony and safe. The breakfast was very sufficient. The Greek yoghurt was especially tasty. We were very full up every day. The staff were kind and friendly. The location is close to most attractions. 10/15 min walk. Metro station 5 min walk. The view of acropo However the area is slightly scary. I wasn't bothered by the graffiti and boarded up buildings. However we had a couple of slightly scary experiences walking back to the hotel. Both times during the day. Once 2 men took my mobile phone. (I had stupidly put in my back pocket for a moment out of habbit) I shouted at them as I realised straightaway and they gave it back ( most likely realising it was a old phone and not worth the hassle). Luckily my son wasn't with me. Second time we were walking back from national archaeological museum and walked through an area we hadn't been before. (less than 5 min from hotel) young men were shouting at us, 2 moved very close and were very intimidating. We walked really fast and didn't look up. Other times we saw people taking drugs on the street and homeless people drunk. I don't think I would have been so worried had i been traveling with my husband but as a woman on my own with a child it was slightly scary. Having said that we liked the hotel it's really not their fault in any way. ❤
Probably one of the best “value for money “ hotels in Athens. In walking distance to pretty much everywhere. A wide selection of restaurants and easy access to metro (Monastiraki). Excellent staff, clean rooms. One slight issue: I am not a Plumber but I am sure something can be done about the noise coming from the water pipes.
Lovely friendly helpful staff. Clean rooms. Continental breakfast fine. Very well placed for visiting all the sights. After a few days you find all the shortcuts to different squares. So 1 st day took 15 minutes to walk to Kotzia Square to catch bus, 2nd day 5 minutes walk. In evening Monastiriki Square was 15 min walk, 2 nd day 5 min walk, the tavernas all the Greeks eat in are just off the square, down a side street. Explore, its fun. Rooftop terrace has beautiful views of the Acropolis, all lit up at night. City is very accessible, we OAPs travelled on bus, trams and trains. So easy. So be brave it’s worth it.
Friendly, polite and helpful staff. The breakfast was good but it needs an upgrade. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. The only disadvantage was the small bath. The neighbourhood at night seems a bit scary but we didn't feel unsafe. Very close to restaurants, cafes and shopping area.
Well placed budget hotel. A few minutes walk takes you to Psirri, Monastiraki, Thissio - all with plenty of restaurants and bars. Metro from airport or Piraeus goes to Monastiraki so very convenient should an overnight stay be required - we stayed 4 nights. Nice comfortable beds and a large bathroom with bath. Breakfast did not include any hot food but the view of the Acropolis is good from the top floor dining room
The hotel is located in the city center, 8 min walk to the closest metro station. There a nice bar area 300 meters from the hotel and although there are graffiti in the streets and some building are abandoned, I always feel very safe. The people at the reception were very friendly and helpful and I had my room cleaned everyday. My room has a big terrace with a wonderful Acropolis view.
This clean and friendly hotel is in a perfect location to walk to all the sights - Plaka, Acropolis, museums, President's Palace and so on. We chose a room with an Acropolis view and were not disappointed - a stunning view from a large terrace. the breakfast room/bar also has large windows looking out over Athens and the Acropolis and there is a roof terrace for sunbathing. The breakfast is copious if unimaginative. The staff were friendly and helpful, teaching us basic Greek so we could be polite! The shower was big, the water was hot, everything we could have expected.
This hotel is located close to Monastiraki station ( 10 minutes walk), the room is very comfortable i traveled with a friend and we got a room with 2 double beds, bathroom , air con, tv and breakfast included for 40 euros per night, there are lots of restaurants near by, the area can be a little bit scary at night because the street is a little dark but other than that i would totally recommend this hotel
