Clean room, friendly staff, great Acropolis view from the rooftop!l
Near a lot of restaurants and shops. Near the acropolis and other landmarks.
Evripides hotel is located in the heart of Athens, close from subway stations, museums and archeological sites. In the neighbourhood you can find some local shops, tavernas, cafes and middle eastern/asian joints. The view from the room and especially the roof top was unique, the Parthenon, the Saronic Gulf and the Mount Parnitha. Very clean , very friendly and all that for a hostel price. I definitely recommend it ! !
When we arrived at the hotel we were told that if we wanted the AC in the room we were to pay extra for that which was 8 Euros per day. Of course we wanted the AC on, it was very hot in Athens. We were surprised because we felt that Orbitz should have known of this charge and informed us when we ordered the room reservation. We stayed one day and sought out another hotel for the additional time spent in Athens.
We arrived in midnight to the hotel due to a flight delay. When we approached the hotel, we saw there were ganster like people around, and suspectiblely prostitues near the hotel. When we arrived the hotel, the staff told us that the TV remote controllers are all at front desk, and you can rent for free. What's worse is the air conditioning, we were told that we would have to pay 7Euros to rent an air conditioner controller. This is the first time we have ever heard of this kind of thing.
