Great hotel, yummy breakfast, close to everything

This hotel has limited check-in hours. In the event, you miss the check-in window, walk into the hotel door, open the door on your left and walk into the restaurant which will be empty. Continue walking and on the right hand side there will be a table that likely has a key card for your room. If you continue walking further back within the restaurant, there is an elevator on the right hand side past the bathrooms. This hotel is fantastic, Maria is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is amazing so given the opportunity to include it in your stay, I would highly recommend though it is still available for purchase. This is located near many sites and very walkable to shops, restaurants and other things. We would stay here again. Keep in mind hotels in Europe do not have conditioner or wash clothes so come prepared.

It was very hot in Athens for my three day stay. This is my second stay at the Dogpound and I really loved it the first time. The price is right and it is very central. Check in was easy with keys left for us. The rooms are large and comfortable. My only problem is that I feel there was little support or attention when I needed something. For example my air conditioner was working but on the last night I couldn’t get the temperature lower than 26 degrees. I also had to seek out the person to pay for my accomodation.

Easy to find, via Metro from airport. Friendly welcome from staff, who were very helpful and pleasant throughout our stay. Breakfast was delicious. Fridge and kettle in our room, which were bonuses. Shower and products all of good quality. Hairdryer also provided. Very comfortable bed. A/C if required. USB sockets useful to have by bedside. Would definitely recommend, as handy for good places to eat, also.

We stayed for 5 nights with some friends, staying in 3 rooms. Myself and partner stayed in the room with rooftop access. Dogpound Hotel is a very convenient location, a couple of minutes walk from Monistiraki metro station (which goes from the airport), and near to many tourist sites, places to eat, etc. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and all rooms that we saw were similarly modern and clean - one had balcony access with a table and hammock (also lovely for chatting with friends). There was an issue with the hot water not working on the first morning (unrelated to turning on the boiler), but they fixed it the same day and no issues for the rest of our stay. The breakfasts were amazing. We all tried different options and were happy with all of them, in particular, the overnight breakfast bowl and the egg/salsa were most popular. We never explored anywhere else for breakfast as we really enjoyed the food here. The main concern for our room was the stairwell didn't leave much space on one side of the bed, making it difficult for the person on that side to get in and out of the bed. It also made accessing the storage area for clothes difficult, so I wouldn't recommend this room for those with mobility challenges (perhaps the balcony access option might work better).

Noisy rooms but great location and breakfast

The location and decor was very very good! Being only minutes away from the metro was very handy. The breakfast was delicious, it’s a shame it started at 8am as had to miss it two days out of three due to tours and early ferries. The rooms were not soundproofed at all! We could hear everything going on in rooms and the corridor, I didn’t get a full nights sleep the whole time I was there due to the noise ( I don’t think people were being exceptionally noisy, it’s just that the walls were so thin!) We also found check in not very easy. The instructions before hand were great but it wasn’t clear where ‘reception’ was at all when we got there and ended up walking around lost in the hotel for a while. If you’re a heavy sleeper or have ear plugs I would have no hesitation in staying, however for the noise alone we wouldn’t recommend
