I genuinely don’t understand how this hotel has such high ratings. We booked based on the reviews and were completely misled. From start to finish, the service was appalling. Staff were indifferent and unhelpful — no acknowledgment while waiting to check in, only one staff member serving multiple guests, and only two of three people in our group were offered a welcome drink. Our “superior” room was anything but. The photos online are misleading. The room was tired, dirty, and poorly maintained — marked walls, chipped furniture, a stained armchair, and a broken safe. The bathroom was unacceptable: mould, hair in the tub, broken shower fittings, and a drain that didn’t work. To make matters worse, there was constant, loud construction noise above our room, making it impossible to rest — even for our baby. When we raised concerns, staff dismissed us and offered no solution. Expedia tried to contact the hotel multiple times on our behalf, but calls went unanswered and any request for help or compensation was refused. The lift was also dangerous, closing abruptly on guests — my baby’s pram and my elderly mother were both nearly injured. The only positives were the central location and the rooftop bar staff, who were friendly and professional. Everything else was deeply disappointing. For the price paid, this was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. Do not be fooled by the photos or reviews — look elsewhere.

Room was a bit on the small size. Beds were comfortable. The AC and WIFI worked well. Breakfast was really good. The hotel is on a busy street. Easy to catch an Uber or go to the Metro. Uber is so cheap in Athens so, that was our primary method of getting around. They have a 60s theme which is kinda of fun. All in all, a good place to stay.

The rooms are far too small and it’s not what it looks like on the booking at all, also when checking in you have to wait for ages which is the last thing you need after travelling all day. I will say though the rooftop is amazing and the service from the waiters were amazing.

After very early flight from the United States, we were able to still check in a little earlier because hotel staff was extremely courteous and helpful. We were able to get early morning van arranged by the Hotel Check in was easy and friendly. Free water, 2 room accommodations for our teens, and champagne topping it. We would stay again.

Nice location, room too small

The hotel is centrally located right at the Omonia Square with each access to metro and bus lines. The staff was helpful and friendly. Our room was unexpectedly small, to the point that it was hard to move around with only two carry-on suitcases. It’s OK if you are just a tourist not planning to stay in the room and use it only to sleep for a night.

Location is excellent. Right by a metro station (perfect for getting to and from the airport) and walking distance to many sites such as the Monastiraki, the Acropolis, Syntagma Square and many, many more. Amenities are very good and include a gym, rooftop (Acropolis-view) diningnand free WiFi. The only negative mark I'd give the Brown Acropol are towards its staff. They come across snooty and only do the bare minimum when it comes to customer service. Their bellboy was rude. I stayed there a week for business and didn't see a single one of them smile during my entire stay. However, their cleaning staff were helpful and friendly. Probably would not stay at the Brown Acropol again as there were several other options in the area.
